What is a Sketch Model? Sketching in 3-D explains more than a poster! answers key questions and further develops the idea haggman, honda and yang. the influence of timing in exploratory prototyping and other activities in design projects, ASME DTM 2013 prototype early and often

next steps every person works on two sketch models, one related to each general idea theme each person will be working with a different teammate on each of these 2 models no two sketch models should be similar - explore the space cannot make purely aesthetic models grade based mostly on average of scores from the two models you helped with but also the entire team score will be averaged in the team must decide on what all the models are first during this lab there will be a peer review to follow equally teamwork and model making B explore variations on how it could work/ implementation/technology variations on look/sound/theme/size/ functions/user variations on game play one team model should represent the idea originally presented forms idea theme 1 idea theme 2 A F E C D
Sketch Model Expo during your lab time on March 8 (before spring break) does this sketch model explain more than the poster? is it obvious that something was learned from making this model? is this concept being taken in a good direction? Sketch Model Play Test (March 21 after break!)
Logistics rapson access? WED: foam, arduino, little bits (will need software and laptop) THRS: sketch model construction begins type up feedback, share with team before lab PDFs of feedback are in your team google folder take home mini quiz due Wednesday in your notebook: brainstorm alternative directions for these ideas are there big unknowns about the selected ideas? what do you need to learn from making your sketch models? what materials do you need to buy for Thursday Lab?
Toy Design Storage Room Rapson 67 Unlocked during lab hours Key box combo for non-lab time Combo = P.D.S. You turn the dial back and forth a few times (to clear out the previous use). Then, turn the dial to the Right to the letter P, turn the dial to the Left passing letter P and go to the letter D, then turn the dial to the Right again to letter S. Each team has a dedicated shelf and bin Large sheets of material should go in annex closet Keep tidy Do not work in that space 4 shelving units of general class supplies 1 shelf for mail/packages
