ErP 2018 per unità di ventilazione non residenziali New European regulation on Non Residential ventilation Units: How change the rules of Air Hanling units design Within the framework of the European ErP 2009/125 / EC (Energy-related-Products), also called Ecodesign Directive, the 26th November 2014 came into force the EU Regulation 1253/2014 / EC, which applies to ventilation units and establishing specific eco-design requirement to be met in order to placing them on the market The new requirements starts from 1st January 2016 within the European Economic Area and, starting from that date, machine manufaturers,distributors and installers cannot introduce in the European market units that do not comply with the directive. The regulation makes no distinction whatsoever between ventilation unit that will be used in new buildings or instead will replace existing units. They also do not have distinct uses. The main purpose is to significantly reduce the energy consumption of ventilation systems, this indipendently from the kind of applications: tertiary sector, Hotels,Schools,Hospital, Industrial or whatever. The only exclusions are done to the units specified exclusively as operating in a potentially explosive atmosphere, dedicated for use in cases of emergency, operating at temperatures of air above 100 C or less than - 40 C or finally used toxic, highly corrosive or flammable or abrasive substances environments; Excluded are also the units that serves Places without the presence of Human People (Server Rooms) or the means of Transportation ( Trucks, Airplains, Ships) Rhoss SPA is, as always, a benchmark for the market regarding the technological and regulation update of its products and is already working on a new software selection that will perform automatic verification of compliance with the Regulation of the European UHU selected and that will be released by the end of 2015. ErP 2018 per unità di ventilazione non residenziali Definitions BVU= bidirectional ventilation units ( with sypply and return fans in the same unit) with fresh air treatment reference configuration of a BVU means a product configured with a casing, at least two fans with variable speed or multi-speed drives, a HRS, a clean fine filter(f7) on the inlet-side and a clean medium filter (M5) on the exhaust-side; UVU: Unidirectional ventilation unit ( return or supply air flow) Reference configuration of an UVU means a product configured with a casing and at least one fan with variable speed or multi-speed drive, and in case the product is intended to be equipped with a filter on the inlet-side this filter shall be a clean fine filter (F7); SFPint internal specific fan power of ventilation components (SFPint) (expressed in W/(m3/s)) is the ratio between the internal pressure drop of ventilation components and the fan efficiency, determined for the reference configuration; ηt_nrvu thermal efficiency of a non-residential HRS (ηt_nrvu) means the ratio between supply air temperature gain and the exhaust air temperature loss, both relative to the outdoor temperature, measured under dry reference conditions, with balanced mass flow, an indoor-outdoor air temperature difference of 20 K (5 C-25 C), excluding thermal heat gain from fan motors and from internal leakages; ηt_nrvu =(t sup -t ext )/(t ramb -t ext ) t man =supply air temperature t ext =external air temperature t ramb =ambient air return temperature ηsysfan fan efficiency means the static efficiency including motor and drive efficiency of the individual fan(s) in the ventilation unit (reference configuration) determined at nominal air flow and nominal external pressure drop; P: nominal electric power input (P) (expressed in kw) means the effective electric power input of the E efficiency bonus is a correction factor taking account of the fact that more efficient heat recovery causes more pressure drops requiring more specific fan power; F filter correction (expressed in Pa) is a correction value to be applied if a unit deviates from the reference configuration of a BVU;
