Introduction To the Cyclone and Cyclone II owner: Thank you for purchasing the Cyclone and/or Cylone II pump cart. The Cyclone and Cyclone II low pressure adhesive pump carts are bulk delivery systems specifically designed to dispense a two-component 1:1 ratio low viscosity adhesive. The Cyclone includes 1 gun and 35 feet of hose. The Cyclone II includes 2 guns and 70 feet of hose. Features and Benefits: Bulk delivery system for low material cost Saves time and labor compared to mechanical fastening Clean, contained adhesive delivery system Gun and hoses stay clean and free flowing Lightweight Low maintenance Easy to maneuver The Cyclone and Cyclone II pump carts are designed to install beads of VOC free PG-1 Pump Grade Insulation Adhesive to adhere most types of roof insulation. Refer to the PG-1 product data sheet for a complete list of insulations and substrates. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the information in this manual regarding pump features ( how to instructions), care, maintenance and more. Should you have any questions, please contact ADCO Roofing Products, Field Tech Service Department at 800-248-4010. Introduction

Safety Instructions WARNING IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS-READ BEFORE OPERATING EQUIPMENT! Protective equipment such as safety glasses and protective gloves must be worn when operating or servicing the Cyclone and Cyclone II. The Cyclone and Cyclone II run on 110 volt 60Hz, 20 amp AC current. Use a grounded power cord that is in good condition, rated for outdoor use, and a minimum of 14-guage construction. Servicing electrical components should only be done by trained personnel and only after disconnecting power to the pump. Under no circumstances should any acid or corrosive chemicals be used in the machine. The electrical circuitry is not of explosion proof design and should not be used in any environment, or with any product, requiring such a design. The Cyclone and Cyclone II operate with pressure. The applicator gun should never be pointed at or near people. The gun should never be actuated when the outlet tip is blocked or restricted by any object, cured foam, or some part of the body. Prior to working with any product be sure to read labels and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Take necessary health and safety precautions. To prevent damage to the pump always make sure box labeled Part 1 is loaded into the Part 1 tray (color coded white) and box labeled Part 2 is loaded into the Part 2 tray (color coded blue). Improper placement and connection of PG-1 Pump Grade Insulation Adhesive boxes can damage the pump system. Make sure fittings match! Black to black and gray to gray. To avoid personal injury caused by electrical shock DO NOT open access switch panel on back of Cyclone or Cyclone II, or remove front cover of the AC Drive while power is on. Do not use in rain or wet conditions. Keep cord and motor dry. Always remove Static Mixing Nozzles during any pause in application or operation. If Static Mixing Nozzle remains on the gun assembly residual adhesive can react and harden in the gun system. Page 1

STEP 1. Pump grease into gun manifold. With the valves closed, place the gun over a waste container and pump grease into the fittings until in runs out of the tip. STEP 2. Insert adhesive box labeled Part 1 into the tray labeled Part 1 (color coded white). Insert adhesive box labeled Part 2 into tray labeled Part 2 (color coded blue). STEP 3. Place grease on quick connectors prior to attachment. Attach quick connect fitting. Quick connect fittings must match up! Part 1= Black to Black Part 2= Gray to Gray STEP 4. Plug in power cord to a source that can provide 110 volt 60 Hz, 20 amp service. Do not use an extension cord longer than 100 feet or run additional equipment off of the cord. With the gun in the OFF position, flip power switch to ON. After power has been supplied to the machine (approxmately 15 seconds) proceed by turning the pump switch to the ON position. Set speed switch to LOW. Motor will run until it senses pressure in the Part 2 hose and then it will shut off automatically. This is normal. Do not turn the power or pump switch off. STEP 5. Slowly open valve on gun assembly, motor will start automatically. Let a small amount of material flow out into a waste container and ensure that an equal amount of material is flowing out of each opening of the threaded tip of the manifold. Shut off gun, motor will stop automatically. STEP 6. Apply grease to the threaded manifold tip and to the mixing tip threads. Attach a static mixing nozzle to the threaded tip of the manifold. Ensure that it is completely seated. IMPORTANT!: Remove static mixing nozzles from gun manifold during any pause in application or operation. If static mixing nozzle remains on gun, material will react and harden in the gun assembly and possibly the ends of the hose. During removal and attachment of static mixing nozzles an adjustable wrench may be necessary to turn the nozzle retaining nut. Be sure the static mixing nozzle is fully seated on the threaded manifold tip. When using plastic retaining nuts do not allow pressure to build up in the static mixing nozzle. STEP 7. Open valves and dispense adhesive directly to the substrate as recomended by the product manufacturer. Dispensing speed of adhesive can be adjusted to LOW, MED, or HIGH depending on how much is needed. STEP 8. Operating Instructions Shut-down Close gun assembly valves. Flip pump switch to OFF. Remove static mixing nozzle and discard. Place metal static mixing nozzle retaining nut in solvent. Retaining nut must be resused with each new static mixing nozzle. If using plastic retaining nut discard and use a new one. Relieve any pressure in hoses by opening and closing gun assembly valve. Pump grease into both fittings at the top of the gun manifold until it flows out of the threaded tip. Pump grease into Part 1 grease fitting first. Prior to long-term storage (30 days) flush the hoses and manifold with Cyclone System Solution. Page 4
Issue Cyclone will not turn on Adhesive does not flow from gun Cyclone pumps unequal amounts of Part 1 and Part 2 Adhesive will not foam Adhesive has no holding power Suggestion Troubleshooting 1. Check power supply 2. With the pump switch OFF, turn power switch to ON and wait 15 seconds. 3. Make sure power cord is not longer than 100 feet. 1. With mixing tip off, point gun into a waste container and move gun handle to ON. On a new machine it may take1-2 minutes for material to flow. 2. Check for blockage in gun or hose. Clear blockage if detected. Blockage in manifold can be cleared by disassembly. 3. With the power OFF, remove coupling guard on Part 1 pump (White). Rotate coupling with a pipe wrench, or by hand. If coupling cannot be rotated internal damage may have occurred. 1. Make sure Part 1 and Part 2 material are at the correct application temperature. 2. Check for blockage in gun or hose. Clean blockage if detected. 3. Check connections of supply lines to boxes. Ensure correct connection. 1. 1:1 mix ratio is off check gun and hose for blockage. Clear blockage if detected. 2. Check material level in boxes. Levels should be equal. 1. 1:1 mix ratio is off. 2. Material has been damaged as a result of improper storage in cold temperatures. 3. Verify material is within manufacturer s stated shelf life. Page 5
