HISTORY HISTORY Today s Safariland had modest roots. It all began in 1969, when American Body Armor pioneered advanced technologies in body armor. Adopting the name Armor Holdings in 1996, we achieved strength through growth and acquisition of leading brands (see pages 8-9) that positioned us as a world leader in security products. These strengths were recognized by BAE Systems, which acquired Armor Holdings in 2007, giving us new reach and new resources in technology. Producing advanced military systems in the air, on land and at sea, we became BAE Systems Products Group. Retaining the strength and resources of BAE Systems, we have access to the shared technologies of the third-largest global defense company. Its strength is our strength.
