The XT- 1200 series is ideal for a wide variety of pedestrian traffic applications, including stadiums, courthouses, museums, parks, mass transit facilities, universities and corporate offices. The XT-2200 Retractable Bollard (Heald Raptor) provides ASTM F2656-07 M50-P1 and PAS 68 crash tested security and offers a great alternative to both wedge barriers and standard bollards. The Raptor is an ideal choice where utilities and other underground conditions exist, and are particularly suited for urban settings such as courthouses, embassies, museums, banks, corporate offices, universities, mass transit facilities and parks. The XT-2300/2400 Surface Mount Sliding Bollards (Heald Matador) provide PAS 68 crash tested security while allowing freedom of travel for pedestrians and bicyclists. This surface-mount system is ideal for wide range of facilities, particularly in urban settings where foundations cannot be excavated. Ideal locations include stadiums, courthouses, parking garages, museums, parks, mass transit facilities, universities and corporate offices. 2

(XT-1200/1208) K12/L2 & K8 RETRACTABLE BOLLARDS Design Overview Ross Retractable Bollards consist of an array of three units, typically spaced on 36- inch centers. These arrays can be joined with additional groups, making them a cost effective solution for wider entrances. When deployed, XT-1200 Series Bollards extend a full 40 inches (1016 mm) high for maximum protection, which exceeds the long-used industry standard of 36 inches. In the retracted position, they re nearly invisible with only the top covers and road plates exposed. Each bollard is manufactured from durable 10-3/4inch structural steel pipe and finished with a heavy-duty galvanized coating for corrosion resistance. Various paint finishes or cast stainless steel, aluminum and bronze sleeves are available to achieve specific aesthetic requirements. The controls and operating components can be set to activate bollards individually or in groups*. A custom-engineered Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) housed in an above-ground NEMA-rated control enclosure activates the bollards, lifting the units in 5 seconds during normal operation and 2 seconds in Emergency Fast Operation (EFO) mode. While there is no limit to the number of bollards that can be installed in an entrance, they are typically operated in groups of up to four units per HPU. (XT-2200) M50 P1 SHALLOW MOUNT RETRACTABLE BOLLARD - HEALD RAPTOR Design Overview The XT-2200 Retractable Bollard is a shallow mount curved bollard that, when deployed, extends 39 inches (985 mm) above ground. The foundation requires only 3 cubic yards of concrete and is very compact at just 20 inches (500 mm) deep by 69 inches (1750 mm) wide by 110 inches (2800 mm) long that requires only 3 cubic yards of concrete. The curved element rolls on six heavy-duty wheels with sealed bearings and steel inner cores to provide smooth and quiet operation. When retracted, there are no protruding obstructions or hinged joints to present a tripping hazard for pedestrians or to damage vehicles. The Raptor is raised and lowered with a double-acting hydraulic cylinder for longterm reliability. Normal operation cycle time is 5 seconds and Emergency Fast Operation (EFO) mode is 1.5 seconds. A push button interface or optional Heald Hydra System controls the unit. It can be operated by any access control equipment or manually with a hand pump. (XT-2300/2400) PAS68 SURFACE MOUNT SLIDING BOLLARDS - HEALD MATADOR Design Overview The Matador Surface Mount Automated Bollard System is available as a three-bollard (XT-2300) or four-bollard (XT-2400) array. It consists of one or two sliding bollards that, when activated, slide behind stationary bollards located on either side. The Matador can be surface mounted with bolts for rapid deployment or recessed into a new or existing foundation to eliminate uneven transitions in the roadway surface. The Matador allows for a constant flow of pedestrian traffic and the optional stainless steel elements provide greater architectural appeal. The mounting plate design eliminates pinch points, trap hazards and voids, making it safe for passing pedestrians. The XT-2300 protects 9-foot-wide traffic lanes with two fixed bollards and a single moving bollard in the center. The XT-2400 protects 12-foot-wide traffic lanes with two fixed bollards and two moving bollards in the center. The Matador Bollard System is available with numerous equipment options for managing operation including control consoles, traffic equipment, safety loops and environmental controls.
