OTTA, UHV, HV Bolt connection terminal blocks General information In traffic guidance, above all in the area of battery distribution, terminal blocks are frequently used to connect ring cable lugs. This type of connection meets the most stringent vibration requirements, so that it can also be used in rolling traffic. However, bolt terminal blocks are also used in switchplant engineering, on the heavy current side. Bolt terminal blocks are classic high current connectors in power distribution. The product range includes bolt terminal blocks with an enclosed housing up to a cross section of 25 mm 2. The UHV high current connectors are available up to a cross section of 240 mm 2. If the cover profiles available as accessories are used, both versions fulfill the touch safety requirements. The M6 - M10 versions of the HV bolt terminal blocks supplement the range of high current connector terminal blocks. Bolt connection terminal blocks, OTTA The OTTA bolt connection terminal blocks for cable lug connection cover the cross section range up to 25 mm 2. The outstanding feature of this terminal block range is the fully enclosed housing. The cross section ranges of 2.5 and 6 mm 2 are also available as ground terminal blocks. Their closed green-yellow housing clearly indicates their PE function. The ground terminal blocks make contact to C) and Lr DIN rails via the universal grounding foot. Convenient conductor connection The hinged cover flaps permit convenient and time-saving connecting of conductors. Simply prise open the cover flap using a screwdriver and the connection bolt is revealed. The captive terminal nut is fitted in the cover flap. After the cable lug has been inserted, the cover flap can be closed and locked in place. The terminal nut automatically centers itself on the bolt and can easily be tightened using a standard screwdriver. Comprehensive shock protection The closed housing of the OTTA series meets the requirements regarding finger safety. The cover flaps of the connection bolts cover all the live parts, including the insulated cable lugs in the clamping area. Clear labeling of the terminal blocks is a precondition for time-saving wiring. With the OTTA series, each terminal block can be clearly labeled using the large-size Zack marker strip. High current connectors, UHV The UHV series of high current connectors covers the cross section range from 10 to 240 mm 2. Each terminal block cross section is available in bolt connection technology for cable lugs and as a direct connection with a terminal sleeve. Whereas spring washers are used for screw locking in the case of bolt connections, the Reakdyn principle is used for direct connections. When using flat-ribbon conductors, insertion profile UKH...EP must be inserted to compensate the prism-shaped terminal sleeve base. Finger safe Particular importance has been placed on finger safety in accordance with BGV A 2. Shock protection for types with terminal sleeves is guaranteed by the closed and robust insulation housing. In the case of bolt connection types, shock protection can be added at a later date by fitting a cover. The perforation on the sides of the cover can be used for knocking out the side panel. This permits cross connections between the high current connectors and connection rails. HV high current connectors The HV high current connectors round off the range of the UHV high current connectors. The bolt connection terminal blocks for cable lugs to DIN 46 234 and DIN 46 237 are available in the versions M6, M8 and M10. Screws are secured with spring washers. Bolt connection terminal blocks, OTTA OTTA 2,5 The bolt connection terminal blocks for cable lugs up to 25 mm 2 in accordance with DIN 46 234 and DIN 46 237 are distinguished by their many advantages in technical applications: The unique, convenient and quick connection is made possible by hinged cover flaps which hold the terminal nuts captive. When the flaps are open, the bolt is freely accessible and the cable lugs can be hooked in. After closing and engaging the flap, the terminal nut is automatically positioned on the threaded bolt and can be easily tightened The hinged flaps cover the live metal parts including the insulated cable lugs in the clamping area for shock protection. They can also be marked on both sides A normal commercial screwdriver (not an Allen wrench) can be used for the special terminal nuts The screws are secured against loosening by " concealed " captive springloaded spacers Due to the universal foot, the terminal blocks can be mounted on both types of commercially available EN mounting rails. For the OTTA 6-T disconnect terminal blocks, the particular switching state is clearly indicated by the orange disconnect slide screw. High current connectors The HV high current connectors round off the range of the UHV high current connectors. The bolt connection terminal blocks for cable lugs to DIN 46 234 and DIN 46 237 are available in the versions M6, M8 and M10. Screws are secured with spring washers. High current connectors UHV The UHV high current connectors are available for cable lug connection terminal blocks and for the direct connection of conductors using terminal sleeves.
