HUSQVARNA X-CUT SAW CHAIN WHY IT EXISTS WHAT S GOOD ABOUT IT HOW IT IMPROVES YOUR EVERYDAY WORK
IT S ALL ABOUT THE OUTPUT. As the new Husqvarna X-CUT saw chain took shape, our work was guided by one single overarching objective: To maximize your cubic metre output. X-Cut is the first ever chain to be developed, designed and manufactured by Husqvarna and it has all been done in Huskvarna, Sweden, where our chainsaws are developed and tested. That way, we have been able to fully optimize the design and features of the chain to get the highest possible efficiency out of your cutting equipment. You will feel the difference but if you want to know exactly what that feeling consists of, please turn the page.
OUR INPUT YOUR OUTPUT SHARPNESS MORE RUN TIME AND LESS MAINTENANCE The design of the cutters, the materials and the manufacturing processes have all been refined to the extreme. This gives the X-Cut chain outstanding sharpness out of the box, and also perhaps more importantly a sharpness that lasts considerably longer before filing is needed. LOW STRETCH LESS ADJUSTMENTS AND LESS RISK OF DAMAGE The X-Cut chain is pre-stretched at the factory, which means you will be able to work for longer before it needs retensioning. No unnecessary adjustments to slow you down, and the risk of damaging the cutting system with a slack chain is significantly decreased. DURABILITY LESS COST AND LESS SERVICE The carefully balanced combination of construction, materials and processes have resulted in an excellent, dynamic durability. The wear on the cutting system is reduced and consequently the need for service. EFFICIENCY BETTER RESULTS AND EASIER WORK X-Cut is made for making faster cuts than comparable chains, and it s ready to be used straight out of the box. This improves your efficiency and thereby your results. At the same time, its smoothness reduces the human effort (or feed force) needed, making the whole experience easier on your body.
AND IF YOU WANT THE HARD FACTS: OPTIMAL CUTTING ANGLE The angle of the cutter s working corner is crucial for your efficiency. The tighter you make this angle, the greater the sharpness but if you overdo it, it will lose its edge faster and break more easily. With X-Cut, we have worked our way to an optimum angle that gives you a long-lasting performance with minimum maintenance. SUPERIOR LUBRICATION Small, arrow-shaped channels in the links help transport oil to the chain during operation and ensure superior lubrication. CHROME AND STEEL The microstructure of the steel (not too hard, not too soft) and the chrome layer (not too thick, not too thin) have been precisely and painstakingly defined on a molecular level. This ensures a high cutting capacity and a lasting sharpness. Husqvarna X-Cut is a low-vibration pixel chain that cuts a narrow kerf and requires less power from the saw than standard cutting systems. OPTIMAL HEAT TREATMENT For the hardening, we have developed our own unique method of making the steel as durable as possible. This includes optimal heat treatment as well as optimal cooling creating a molecular structure that makes the chain incredibly durable. SHARPNESS THAT LASTS Several additional processes also help keep the chain sharp and durable. All links are handled separately to not inflict any unwanted marks and, after years of testing in the lab and in the forest, they are optimized for dynamic durability. Our aim is simple: We want to help you get more work done, with less maintenance, less fuel consumption and less strain on your body. PRE-STRETCHED One of the final stages of manufacturing is the pre-stretching of the chain. This helps it keep its shape longer without slacking, and there is less risk of unnecessary wear to the cutting equipment and saw.
ALL RIGHT, ENOUGH TALK FROM US. LET S HEAR WHAT THESE PEOPLE SAY ABOUT THE X-CUT CHAIN.
ANDY JO GABRIELE JOHAN JARED The H Team is a group of professional loggers and arborists regularly employed to test Husqvarna products. All of them cut trees for a living, and they know when the chainsaw they are holding is using its full capacity and not. These are their comments after trying the X-Cut chain for the very first time. In the test, a set of Husqvarna 450 and 550 XP chainsaws were used, randomly equipped with X-Cut chains and the comparable H30 standard chains. The professionals alternated between the saws to make the comparison as accurate as possible. Andy Campbell, logger from Norfolk, United Kingdom: I put it through some hardwood logs and it was very smooth, not at all grabby or sticky. I also did a few bore cuts, and it did that with no hesitation, no jamming. I then felled some trees, which it did very well, again with no jamming. It stayed sharp through the dirt and the bark. I would say it s a very productive chain. Jo Hedger, arborist from Southampton, United Kingdom: The pre-stretching seems to work, because for the couple of trees we felled we didn t have to retension the chain. I think this will benefit arborists, because obviously, there is no way of tensioning it when you re up in a tree. Overall it will be a lot safer and we won t have the down time. IT SEEMED TO BE MORE POWERFUL, BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE CUT WAS REALLY SMOOTH AND CLEAN Gabriele Dovier, arborist from Milan, Italy: It seemed to be more powerful, but at the same time the cut was really smooth and clean, and you didn t have any problem with kickbacks when you bore cut I m really impressed. The sharpness is really great too; I don t know what they ve done, but the material is really good. Johan Pihl, arborist from Gothenburg, Sweden: The initial feeling was that it was more aggressive than the other chains, but also cut smoother and quicker. When I bore cut it just worked itself in, it was easier to use and I got more precision. Jared Abrogena, arborist from California, US: I didn t think I would feel any difference, but after cutting all day, and having a real comparison side by side with the standard chain, it was pretty amazing. There was less chatter, less vibration and a lot smoother cut, especially when bore cutting or doing straight-through cuts. In your everyday work, you want the chain to make the saw run at its optimal performance. With a chain like that, I feel that it does.

MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AND MAKE MORE MONEY. The X-Cut chain is undoubtedly a great product. But its benefits are only fully taken advantage of when it is mounted on the right saw. On the next page, you can easily find the type of chain that fits your Husqvarna optimally. As you probably know already, the precise matching of chain and saw is crucial for making your output the highest possible.
