EARTHING 1 Verify that all earth pits are visible and measure the ring earth resistance as per the maintenance schedule 2 Check whether MLK front and back doors are earthed or not Check whether shields of all communication cables are properly connected to earth ground at one end only Check whether proper earth connection is provided for Data logger 6 8 9 Check whether surge suppressors (110V, 12V, 2V & 20V ) used are connected to the respective REB & protective fitting Check whether 20V OBO surge arrester is connected to the respective REB & protective fitting Check whether NV Filter box connections are done as per the NV-FLT BO installation check list Check whether painted surface are scraped to the clean metal surface where grounding connections are to be made Check whether the earth connection between REB and the racks earth point are as short and there is no bend or any loose in the earth wire (Green) 10 Check that Armoured Cables used for Control Panel are Connected to REB 11 Check whether all joints are being mechanically and electrically effective (Example. clamped, screwed, bolted, riveted or welded) 12 Check that there are no loose connections in any of the earthing terminations 1 Check that there is no damage to earth wire 1 Earth pits are wetted on regular basis (This is applicable only to non maintenance free earth pit sites) Rev 2.0 Doc. FIBER 1 Check the db loss for every fiber core using optical power meter 2 Check whether the db loss is within the specified limit of the fiber equipment Check whether redundant path arrangement is working properly (i.e., seamless transfer of one fiber path to the other fiber path) Check whether all fiber loops are neatly dressed with in the splice tray Check whether OFC equipment power supply & LED status is proper 6 Check whether the one end of the armored OFC cable is earthed Check whether the modem is isolated from the metal body of the mounting frame/rack MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY (This shall be performed by Railway Engineer on weekly basis) Ensure there is no dust in MLK II Rack, Operator VDU, Maintenance PC and any other 1 equipment such as Data Logger, IPS etc Check card file cooling fans are properly working & also check for its direction of air flow 2 (i.e., away from card file) Check that cooling fan of DC-DC converters are working properly Check that the glowing of healthy indication in surge suppressors Check that both Input & Output LED indication in DC-DC converter 6 Check that there is no failure indication for the communication link (fiber cut/ modem/server/switching device failure) Rev 2.0 Doc. Measure the voltages of MLK II card file, I/O & Panel, 110AC, 2V ET and 110V Point supplies 8 Check all the fuses visually for its proper working 9 10 Switch ON the OFF LINE system in diagnostic mode and ensure that both date & time are synchronized to PC time Ensure Back-up of MLK II system logs (event, error & data logs) are taken on regular basis 11 Ensure that EI room is well protected MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY (Monthly) 1 Measure the RING EARTH RESISTANCE VALUE (i.e., less than 1 ohm) 2 Ensure that all the DC-DC converters are working properly in the n+1 configuration Check the healthiness of the change over system by make it ON LINE from OFF LINE (i.e., system A B or system B A ) Switch ON the OFFF LINE system in diagnostic mode and enable the CPS CLEAR mode if required Rev 2.0 Doc.
