2 INTENDED CONDITIONS OF USE 2.1 CONDITIONS OF USE: Your LAGARDE H series trimmer is designed to be installed, depending on the model: In the front or rear position on narrow tractors: HR trimmers In the front position on narrow tractors: HM trimmers On straddle tractors or harvesting machines - front attachment: HE trimmers Between the wheels on narrow tractors: HL, HG trimmers Any other type of attachment or positioning on the tractor is prohibited. LAGARDE H series trimmers are driven by the pressurised oil provided by the hydraulic circuit of the tractor. If necessary, our machines may be driven by a separate hydraulic unit which is itself driven by the power take-off of the tractor. Any other type of drive system is prohibited. LAGARDE H series trimmers are to be used for trimming vegetation on vineyards (green vegetation). Any other use, for example the cutting of wood, is strictly prohibited. 2.2 QUALIFICATION OF THE OPERATOR: The H series trimmer may only be used, maintained and repaired by persons who know its particular characteristics well and who know the corresponding safe operating modes. Before using your trimmer, familiarize yourself with all the operations and settings you may have to perform in your work. As the ability to drive a farming tractor, straddle tractor or harvesting machine is subject to work regulations, the user of the trimmer must first ensure that he/she has the required qualification. 2.3 DEFINITION OF WORKSTATIONS: During operation, the user sits in the driver's cab of the tractor, and must always keep to the following guidelines: Never leave the driver's cab when the tractor or the trimmer are in operation. No person other than the user may position themselves on or near the machine to which the trimmer is coupled. 2.4 SURROUNDING CONDITIONS 2.4.1 Damp conditions: In such conditions, keep to the following guidelines: If the tractor or trimmer lacks stability, do not use the equipment. Adapt your speed and driving style to the terrain and to the state of roads or tracks. Be vigilant and careful. Always drive slowly, particularly on sloping or bumpy ground and especially on bends, and avoid sharp changes in direction. Do not stop or start suddenly when going up or down slopes. 2.4.2 Lights, night-time work Your trimmer should be used in daylight or with good artificial lighting. It may not be used in conditions of insufficient light, particularly where the rows of vines cannot be seen. Should the user need to drive on roads or tracks, he/she must ensure that the overall dimensions of the tractor-trimmer assembly comply with the regulations and that it has adequate lighting. 2.5 RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANUFACTURER, THE DEALER AND THE USER 2.5.1 Manufacturer 2.5.2 Dealer 2.5.3 User As the manufacturer, we are committed to delivering machinery that corresponds to the purpose for which it is designed and presents good working safety. We are also bound to the guarantee conditions as described at the end of this manual. For the models requiring front attachment (HR and HM on narrow tractors, HE on straddle tractors or harvesting machines) or attachment between the wheels (HL and HG), we are unable to deliver attachments specific to the coupling devices of every type of tractor. For items related to the installation, attachment and hydraulic connections of the trimmer to the tractor, we therefore rely on our network of dealerships or agents, all of whom have been chosen for their professionalism and competence. As professionals, our dealers are obliged to mount our machinery according to trade practices and in compliance with safety regulations. If, however, there is still any doubt or if the trimmer is not mounted by a LAGARDE dealer (for example, with used machinery), our after-sales service is at your disposal for any information. The user must follow the following recommendations: Comply with all the installation, operation, setting, maintenance and repair instructions in this manual. Use only the spare parts and accessories that conform to our recommendations. Do not modify or have someone else modify your trimmer and its accessories (mechanical and hydraulic characteristics) without first requesting our written agreement. 3.2 HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS Information about the workings of LAGARDE hydraulic trimmers: The pressurised oil from the pump of your tractor or your harvesting machine goes through the control distributor then successively supplies the various motors of the machine. Each of these motors absorbs part of the available pressure. For normal operation, the tractor (or harvesting machine) must have the following hydraulic characteristics: Min pressure: 120 to 150 bar (machines with 3 or 4 motors) 160 to 190 bar (machines with 6 or 7 motors) Max pressure: 200 bar Min flow rate: 16 litres (for a blade rotation speed of 1500 rpm, which is the threshold value for a good-quality trim) Max flow rate: 35 litres (for a blade rotation speed of 3200 rpm, which is the maximum allowable motor speed; in order not to damage the motors, the machine has a flow regulator which eliminates surplus flow if it exceeds 38 litres/min). 3.3 SOUND LEVELS AT THE WORKSTATION 3.3.1 Tractors without cabin: Location: vertical, centre of driver's seat / 1.8 m above tractor floor Equipment type: HR 500 trimmer Tractor type: Sound level indicator name and type: FI 4001 Sound level: not measured 3.3.2 Tractors with cabin: Location: vertical, centre of driver's seat / 1.8 m above tractor floor Equipment type: HR 500 trimmer Tractor type: John Deere 5410 at 2100 rpm Sound level indicator name and type: FI 4001 Sound level: machine noise cannot be dissociated from, and is covered by, tractor sound level 3.4 VIBRATION LEVELS AT THE WORKSTATION Equipment vibration cannot be recorded: covered by tractor vibrations. 4 SAFETY RULES 4.1 GENERAL The other chapters in this instruction manual give further safety indications that you should also keep to in your own interest. Remember that vigilance and prudence are the watchwords of safety. At all times you must observe the safety and accident-prevention rules and regulations, as well as those concerning occupational medicine, environmental protection and road traffic. When starting up the machine and during operation, make sure that no person, animal or obstacle is near the machine. Always keep children away from the trimmer. Before any maintenance or repair, ensure the trimmer cannot be switched on accidentally. Before use, check the tightness of screws, bolts and connections. Tighten if necessary. Before use and after each adjustment or maintenance operation, ensure all protective devices are in place and in good condition, and that their locks are on. Never put your hands, arms or feet near the parts when they are moving, even slowly. Keep your distance from working parts. Whenever you hear a noise or feel an unusual vibration, switch off the trimmer, and look for and remove the cause of the incident before restarting work. Call your agent if necessary. DANGER: WHEN IN OPERATION, THE BLADES OF OUR TRIM- MERS TURN AT AROUND 2500 RPM. THEY ARE THUS INVI- SIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE AND ARE EXTREMELY DANGE- ROUS TO ANY PERSON STANDING NEAR THE MACHINE. AS A USER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FORBIDDING ANYONE FROM APPROACHING THE MACHINE, PARTICULAR- LY CHILDREN. Notice rogneuse H 11-02 GB - page 12

012866 012861 012854 012856 4.2 WARNINGS / PICTOGRAMS The stickers affixed to the trimmer give indications of the security measures to be strictly observed, and are there to help prevent accidents. Keep these stickers permanently clean and visible. If they suffer from wear and tear, ask your manufacturer (or dealer) for new ones. When undertaking repairs, make sure the spare parts bear the same stickers as the original parts. Risk of fingers or hands being cut off. Keep a safe distance away from the machine. Ejection or projection of objects: entire body exposed. Wait for all the elements of the machine to come to a complete stop before touching them. STOP 012855 Consult the technical manual to find out about maintenance procedures. 4.3 SAFETY: LAGARDE H series hydraulic trimmers are fitted with the latest safety improvements. Their safety devices are as follows: Our machines are delivered with a blade-rotation control distributor placed right next to the driver, allowing him/her to stop the blades in a fraction of a second. The transmission elements (pulleys, belts) are placed in watertight housings. The blade-protection housings cover the rear part of the blades, in accordance with the regulations. The thickness and quality of steel of the cutting blades ensure they cannot break (in normal conditions of use). The blades are mounted onto threaded pins and are held by 2 elastic rings, enabling the disengagement of the blades in the event of a violent shock. The threaded pins holding the blades have a right-hand thread or a left-hand thread, so that the rotation direction imparts a torque in the direction in which the pin is turning. This makes the system impossible to come loose. When the blades are changed, the pins must be retightened with a torque of 7 dan/m. The hydraulic control distributor has an integrated pressure limiter capable of taking over from the one on the tractor if the machine pressure rises (motor jammed). A flow regulator placed at the inlet of the hydraulic circuit filters the flow required for the machine and returns surplus flow to the tank. Removable protective housing for the cutting blades. Red and white labelling in the periphery of the blade rotation. Anti-projection screen supplied with the HL and HR rear-mounted models. The vertical cylinders are equipped with safety valves preventing the machine from falling if a hose breaks. SAFETY RULES TO BE RESPECTED: Never modify the hydraulic circuit of the machine Keep the protection and signalling parts of the machine in good order Comply with the user instructions In the event of an anomaly, stop the machine and contact your dealer. 4.4 BLOCKING (JAMMING) When the vegetation is too thick, or if you go too fast, the vegetation may become jammed between the blades and the protective housing. To unblock the machine: leave the row, disengage the motor command, switch of the engine, put on protective gloves and remove the vegetation. 4.5 LINKAGE ATTACHMENT 4.5.1 HR model: The HR models are used behind a narrow tractor and have a standard 3-point coupling system. 4.5.2 HR, HM, HE frontal models, HG and HL (between wheels): Your dealer has had a specific attachment part made for your tractor. He/she will show you how to attach your machine under the best possible conditions. Notice rogneuse H 11-02 GB - page 14

4.6 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR Maintenance and repair operations may only be carried out by qualified persons. Always keep the machine and its accessories in perfect working order. Stick to the maintenance instructions. Before any intervention: Disengage the trimmer's drive mechanism Wait for all the moving parts to come to a complete stop Put on the parking brake (or handbrake) Switch of the motor Remove the ignition key 4.6.1 Welding operations Welding to strengthen the machine or to add metal parts is prohibited without our prior written authorisation. During authorised welding operations, if the trimmer is coupled, disconnect the tractor battery. 4.6.2 Tyre maintenance or repair (option on HR model) 4.6.3 Repairs Do not attempt interventions on the tyres unless you have the right tools and the required experience. Incorrect mounting may seriously compromise the efficiency of the machine and your safety. When in doubt, call upon a specialist. It is not recommended to fit tyres with characteristics that are different from the original ones. Before performing any interventions on the trimmer, ensure the hydraulic control unit cannot be engaged accidentally or by a third person. As a user, the interventions you are likely to do are limited to changing worn parts (cutting blades, belts, hoses or hydraulic connectors). For larger-scale interventions or repairs, please contact your dealer. 5 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION 5.1 STORAGE AND REMOVAL OF WASTE (POLLUTANTS) Waste grease and hydraulic oil must not be spread on the ground or thrown into drains. Collect drained liquids in watertight, clean containers set aside for this purpose. Avoid using food containers or drink bottles. Store waste oils in containers set aside for this purpose. Use a company specialised in the collection and recycling of liquids, or dispose of the liquids in the containers set aside for this purpose. Notice rogneuse H 11-02 GB - page 15

6 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH YOU PURCHASED YOUR LAGARDE TRIMMER IS A PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITED BY OUR COMPANY. ONLY THE DEALER IS QUALIFIED TO PER- FORM THE INSTALLATION, COMMISSIONING AND INITIAL SETTINGS OF THE TRIMMER. 6.1 TAKING DELIVERY OF THE MACHINE 6.2 QUALIFICATION OF THE OPERATOR Your HE or HR trimmer should be unloaded using a lifting machine equipped with a hook (crane, hoist, etc.). HR frontal trimmers and HL and HM trimmers are unloaded via the machine's brackets, using a forklift truck. When unloading your trimmer, make sure no-one is in the unloading zone. Ensure all the accessories of the trimmer are present. Ensure your trimmer has suffered no damage. The trimmer must be assembled by qualified personnel with the tools required to perform this operation. 6.3 SURROUNDING CONDITIONS Your trimmer must be assembled on flat, horizontal, hard ground. 6.4 MOUNTING Depending on the type of equipment, your LAGARDE H trimmer is to be mounted: at the rear or front (HR model) at the front (HM and HE models) between the wheels (HL and HG model). 6.5 ATTACHMENT DEVICES AND METHODS Rear-mounted 6.5.1 Attachment Rear-mounted machine: HR model Your HR trimmer is coupled to the lifting arms of the tractor. First reverse the tractor to place the machine between the fork yokes, then slide in the pins and put the third point in place. Position and connect the hydraulic control distributor. Other models: The HE, HM, HG and HR trimmers are mounted on the attachment parts provided by your dealer. It is up to you to check the following points: The trimmer must be rigid enough in relation to the tractor (or harvesting machine); the attachment must be able to absorb the stress caused by the weight and inertia of the machine. The presence of the trimmer on the tractor must not modify greatly or dangerously the centre of gravity of the assembly. You must pay particular attention to this point. In the absence of a protective device preventing access to the blades, the position of the machine on the tractor should be such that there is a minimum distance of 850 mm between a defined theoretical zone and one or more blades. With rear-mounted HR and HL trimmers, the provision of a safety screen renders this rule obsolete. Reach zone SIP (in accordance with EN2535) Theoretical zone 6.6 CONNECTION TO ENERGY SUPPLIES 6.6.1 Connecting the trimmer: Preliminary precautions: The operating life of the trimmer's gear motors depends on the quality and quantity of oil used. THE CLEANNESS OF THE OIL USED TO OPERATE YOUR LAGARDE TRIMMER IS A CRUCIAL FACTOR IN ITS CORRECT WORKING AND LONGEVITY. TO AVOID ANY GUARANTEE DISPUTE OR REFUSAL IN THE VENT OF A DAMAGED HYDRAULIC MOTOR, WE ADVISE YOU TO PLACE A PRESSURE FILTER AT THE MACHINE CIRCUIT INLET IF YOU ARE UNSURE AS TO THE CLEANNESS OF YOUR OIL (CONSULT YOUR DEALER OR OUR TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT). Quality of oil: Before carrying out any connections, make sure the quality and cleanness of the tractor oil is satisfactory. If this is not the case, it is necessary to filter or change the oil. We recommend using a multipurpose, good-quality hydraulic oil such as: MOBILAND SUPER XHP 10W40 SHELL HARVELLA TX 10W40 ESSO FARM'S 10W40 Or equivalent Contact your tractor dealer to make sure these oils are compliant. Quantity of oil: The quantity of oil required for the good working of your trimmer depends on the pump flow rate of your tractor. We recommend a quantity of oil equal to twice the flow rate. E.g.: tractor pump flow rate 25 litres Oil reserve required 50 litres You should check the oil level on the tractor underframe and, if necessary, add the necessary quantity. Connection: THE DRAINAGE PIPE MUST HAVE A DIRECT RETURN FLOW TO THE OIL TANK. DO NOT USE A QUICK COUPLER. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE MOTOR RETURN FLOW HOSES. 7 STARTING UP AND OPERATION 7.1 DESCRIPTION, LOCATION AND IDENTIFICATION Reminder: Your LAGARDE H series trimmer has been designed to trim vegetation in vineyards. Any other use is prohibited. 7.2 SETTINGS 7.2.1 Adjustment For optimum output and a good finish, your trimmer should be properly adjusted. NEVER ADJUST THE TRIMMER WHEN IT IS IN OPERATION During adjustment operations, it may be necessary to remove the protective housings of the cutting blades. Be careful, as the blades are particularly sharp. A Adjusting the cutting panels: For reasons of transportation, our machines are reduced to the minimum possible size. Before you take the machine into the vines, you must first adjust the relative cutting position so that the blades do not come into contact with each other (top trim blades and side trim blades) and the machine has the cutting profile you require. Adjustment of the position of the blades a. Adjusting the relative position of the cutting elements This is done by unscrewing the attachment fittings on each cutting panel, then adjusting them so that the vertical (side) and horizontal blades do not come into contact with each other and the space between them does not let vegetation through. b. Adjusting the angle of the cutting sides Our machines allow the user to profile the cut according to requirements. Possible tilt: +/- 15 1 2 This adjustment is done via the upper joint by unscrewing bolts 1 and 2, tilting the cutting side, then retightening. Special case of the HG model B Adjustments prior to use Before going into the vine rows, you must first adjust the cutting height and spacing of the machine. a. Cutting height Once the machine has been placed in front of the row with the hydraulic motor switched off and the user seated in the driver's cab, use the hydraulic or electric distributor to activate the vertical cylinder of the machine. Lift or lower the machine to the required cutting height. b. Spacing I. Manual adjustment of the spacing This operation should be performed by the user with the tractor switched off and the ignition key withdrawn. The cutting elements are spaced by sliding the male tubes that hold the cutting panels into the female tubes of the chassis (HR/HM/HL models). On the HE model, it is the female tube that slides over the male tube of the chassis. Spacing and tube-sliding operations first involve unscrewing the screws that immobilise the tubes. II. Hydraulic adjustment of the spacing This operation is performed with the user sitting in the driver's cab and with the hydraulic motors switched off, by moving the righthand or left-hand lever of the hydraulic distributor or the electric control that commands the spacing cylinders. Special case of the HG model The HG model has a mast that is articulated at the base. Height-adjustment, spacing or titling operations are performed by acting successively on the machine s three cylinders, via the hydraulic or electric distributor or via the tractor controls. III. Adjusting the shoes or wheels (HR model) The HR models have shoes fitted as standard and simple wheels or bogie wheels as an option. Angular movement adjustment The shoes and simple wheels have their spacing adjusted by sliding, and are blocked into position by a pressure screw that needs to be unscrewed and retightened with each adjustment. The boggie wheels have adjustable spacing, extension and angular movement. As described above, these adjustments are done by unscrewing and retightening the pressure screws or stop screws. IV. Independent adjustment of top trim (HE, HR and HL option) All models except HM 2 As an option, certain models can have their top trim adjusted vertically, independently of the side trim. This is designed for users who have both low and high vines. 1 The vertical adjustment is carried out by loosening the pressure screw (1) then releasing the pin (2) from the tube and positioning the cut to the desired height. Put the pin back in, then retighten the pressure screw. Adjustment on HM V. Anti-tilt adjustment (option on HL and HR 300 models) The anti-tilt adjustment is performed by activating the hydraulic distributor control. VI. Anti-tilt adjustment (HM model) Release the pin, adjust the tilt and replace the pin VII. Raising the cutting panels by integral pivoting - tilt adjustment (HE model) As well as the possibility of adjusting the cutting height (simultaneous action on the 2 adjustment cylinders), the chassis of our HE models also offer the possibility of: Correcting the effects of slopes by activating only one cylinder Raising and pivoting the machine upwards by retracting both vertical cylinders fully. 7.3 STARTING UP THE MACHINE 7.3.1 Prior inspections Before using your trimmer, make sure you check the following points: The presence of all the protective devices The pressure and condition of the tyres The good condition of the cutting tools The absence of oil leaks 7.3.2 Removing the protection of the cutting blades After removing the blade protections, store them in a place where you can easily find them again after using the machine. 7.3.3 Starting up the motors - blade rotation OWING TO ITS FUNCTION, THE TRIMMER IS A DANGEROUS TOOL. SWITCH OFF THE MOTORS IMMEDIATELY IF ANY PERSON COMES WITHIN THE PERIMETER OF USE OF THE TRIMMER. START UP THE MOTORS WHEN YOU ARE SEATED IN THE DRIVER'S CAB, WITH THE MACHINE SURROUNDINGS COM- PLETELY CLEAR. IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO START UP THE MACHINE IN THE PRESENCE OR PROXIMITY OF ANO- THER PERSON. DANGER: WHEN IN OPERATION, THE BLADES OF OUR TRIM- MERS TURN AT AROUND 2500 RPM. THEY ARE THUS INVI- SIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE AND ARE EXTREMELY DANGE- ROUS FOR ANY PERSON STANDING NEAR THE MACHINE. AS A USER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FORBIDDING ANYONE FROM APPROACHING THE MACHINE, PARTICULAR- LY CHILDREN. The motors are started up by engaging the lever of the hydraulic distributor or the electric button. To protect the motor parts, it is recommended to start the motors with a medium engine rating of the tractor and to increase it gradually until the hydraulic pump of the tractor has reached its nominal flow rate. NB: Visual check on the rotation direction. At low speed it is easy to detect the rotation direction of the blades. Users must check that the rotation direction corresponds to the following direction: Top trim: rotation towards the outside Side cut: upwards If this is not the case then the hydraulic connection has not been done correctly and the blades may come loose. 7.3.4 Working speed The working speed through the vineyard depends on a number of criteria: Vegetation density Ground morphology Tractor stability Rotation speed of the blades (dependent on the flow rate supplied). The range of speeds goes from 2 to 6 km/h. On rough ground, slopes or stony soils, reduce speed as much as possible. Particular care should be taken with straddle tractors or harvesting machines, given the height of the overall centre of gravity. At the end of a row and before introducing the machine to a new row, it is advisable to switch off the motors. In the event of a violent shock or an incident (stake, tree, wire caught, etc.), leave the row, switch off both tractor and machine and assess the effect of the damage on operation and safety. In case of vibrations, twisted blades, damaged safety system, broken hoses, etc., consult your dealer. 7.3.5 Adjusting the machine At any moment, it is possible to use the hydraulic or electric levers of the machine to control the cylinders and adjust the position of the cutting elements in relation to the vegetation. It is recommended to proceed by carrying out small successive adjustments. The use of the oil for the control of the machine's cylinders leads to a slight reduction in the rotation speed of the cutting blades. This momentary reduction has no effect on the cutting quality of the machine. REMINDER: NO ADJUSTMENTS MAY BE MADE ON THE MACHINE WHEN IT IS OPERATION. 7.4 STOPPING THE MACHINE To stop the machine, switch off the hydraulic supply via the distributor control, after first reducing the engine rate of the tractor. 7.4.1 Inspection of the tightness of the machine parts Despite all the care and attention we put into assembling our machines, after a few hours of use a gap may have been created between the transmission parts on the chassis or the cutting panels. Hydraulic motors and cutting blades attachment VERY IMPORTANT: THE GUARANTEE MAY BE INVALID IF THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT COMPLIED WITH. 8 TRANSPORT/MOVEMENT 8.1 TRANSPORT POSITION To put the machine in the transport position, proceed as follows: Retract the trimmer as much as possible to ensure its size does not exceed that of the tractor or harvesting machine, or keep it within a size under 2.5m. Use the spacing cylinders, or, if the machine does not have any, slide in the tubes to bring in the cutting panels after first unscrewing the pressure screws. Retighten the screws after this operation. 8.2 DRIVING ON PUBLIC ROADS If you have to drive on a public road: Place the machine in transport position in accordance with the instructions in chapter 8.1. Check the braking devices of the tractor are in good working order. If the machine should hide the signalling lights or devices of the tractor, you must compensate for this by making them visible again, either by moving them or by adding equivalent devices (lighting strip, additional registration place, etc.). On public roads, comply with the highway code. Respect the maximum dimensions allowed (width, height, length). Should you exceed the authorised dimensions, comply with the regulations in force with respect to wide and heavy loads. Respect the maximum axle load and the total authorised weight. Make sure the load on the front axle is never lower than 20% of the empty tractor weight. If necessary put in place front (or rear) weights. Keep to the authorised speed limit. 8.3 OPERATING POSITION AFTER TRANSPORT To restart your machine after transport, refer to chapter 7.2 "Adjustments". Notice rogneuse H 11-02 GB - page 33

9 HANDLING LIFTING: The HE trimmer should be handled using the lifting points designed for this purpose, with the aid of a lifting machine equipped with a hook (crane, hoist, etc.), as indicated in chapter 6.1. The HR, HM, HG and HL trimmers should be handled via the brackets supplied with the machine, using a forklift truck as indicated in chapter 6.1. WHEN LIFTING YOUR TRIMMER, KEEP IT AWAY FROM ANY OTHER PERSON. NEVER GO BENEATH THE MACHINE WHEN IT IS RAISED. 10 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR 10.1 QUALIFICATION OF THE OPERATOR Do not attempt any intervention or repair unless you are trained to do so or unless you have the required competence and tools. AS A USER, YOU CAN CARRY OUT EVERYDAY MAINTENAN- CE OPERATIONS SUCH AS GREASING AND CHANGING WORN PARTS (BLADES AND BELTS). FOR MORE IMPORTANT OPERATIONS, YOU MUST CONTACT YOUR DEALER. 10.2 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS 10.2.1 Greasing In the design of our range of trimmers, the company LAGARDE has tried to make these machines as maintenance-free as possible. The operations described below are nonetheless indispensable for the good working of the machine. WAIT FOR THE TOOL TO STOP COMPLETELY BEFORE ANY OPERATION. CHECK THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL CANNOT BE ENGAGED ACCIDENTALLY BY ANOTHER PERSON DURING THE INTERVENTION. The bearings used on our trimmers are greased to take account of the low stress levels they support and their perfect water tightness. They do not need any further greasing. Specific greasing point: daily greasing. HR model: optional wheels kit; wheel pivot axle greasing nipple. HL and HR 300 models: anti-tilt option: greasing of the support pivot pin. Sliding tubes (all models): The sliding tubes need to be kept greased permanently (application with a brush). In order to eliminate the dust that gathers in the grease, a full cleaning operation (with diesel) is recommended at the end of each campaign, followed by re-greasing. 10.2.2 Cleaning required due to sap deposit Regular cleaning will prevent a lasting build-up of deposit. To ensure a perfect cut, remove the sap from the blades after every cutting operation. During cleaning operations, avoid scratching the blade surface (do not use a grinder, as this will only make the sap stick more strongly). Cleaning with manual tools only 10.2.3 Cleaning the cylinders Before/after deposit removed Particular care must be taken when cleaning the cylinder rods; clean them regularly with diesel so as not to damage the cylinder seals. 10.2.4 Checks on the hydraulic circuit One or more connections may have to be retightened after a few hours of use. Perform this operation to avoid fluid leaks, without tightening excessively. 10.2.5 Belt tension Your trimmer is delivered with 3 special spanners. These spanners are required for the operations described below. Tensioning of the belts should be done after the first 20 hours of use, then before each period of use if needs be. To retighten the belts, proceed as follows: Going upwards from the motor towards the cutting side, or downwards, unscrew the 3 attachment nuts on each bearing block, then using the special spanner, pivot the bearing block in the opposite direction from the motor. Retighten simultaneously. Proceed in the same way for all the bearing blocks. WARNING: IF THE BELTS ARE TOO TIGHT OT TOO LOOSE, THEIR LIFE MAY BE REDUCED CONSIDERABLY. Pivot screw Attachment screw 10.3 REPAIRS Only use spare parts and accessories which are recommended by the manufacturer. 10.3.1 Changing the blades WARNING: WHEN REPLACING THE BLADES, MAKE SURE THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL IS DISENGAGED AND NO-ONE CAN RE-ENGAGE IT DURING THE INTERVENTION. To replace a blade, use the wrench, along with a flat spanner to be inserted behind the blade. Loosen the attachment pin of the blade using the wrench (either clockwise or anticlockwise, depending on whether the thread is right-hand or left-hand; left-hand threads are recognisable by the circular thread inscribed on their collar). When fitting a new blade, the threaded pin must be tightened (pinching the blade between the 2 elastic rings) with a torque of 7 dan (equivalent to a force of 7kg applied at the end of a spanner 1m long). Regularly check the wear of the blades; if they are largely worn or irregular, or with breakage causing even the slightest vibration, stop the machine and change the blade. OUR COMPANY DECLINES ALL RESPONSIBILITY OR GUA- RANTEE CLAIM IF A BREAKDOWN RESULTS FROM NON COMPLIANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS. 10.4 RESTARTING THE MACHINE AFTER INTERVENTION After repair or maintenance, ensure all the protective devices and parts of the trimmer are remounted correctly. Once you have made sure no-one is in the field of action of the trimmer, restart the machine (see paragraph 7). 11 CLEANING 11.1 WHERE TO CARRY OUT CLEANING OPERATIONS Clean the trimmer in an area set aside for this purpose. 11.2 WEARING OF INDIVIDUAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT To clean your trimmer you should wear protective gloves and glasses to prevent injuries caused by projections from the water pressure. 11.3 CLEANING METHOD Cover all openings requiring protection from water, vapour or cleaning products. In case of use of a high-pressure water jet, do not hold it too close to the machine and avoid directing the jet onto hydraulic hoses, seals, filling plugs, etc. WARNING: THE USE OF A HIGH-PRESSURE CLEANER IS RECOMMENDED TO REMOVE TRACES OF SAP FROM THE BODYWORK. HOWEVER, IT IS INADVISABLE TO USE SUCH A CLEANER ON THE HYDRAULIC MOTORS, BEARINGS, WHEEL BEARINGS AND THE GAPS BETWEEN THE BODYWORK PARTS. IF USED ON THE SLIDING BEAMS, THEY SHOULD BE RE-GREASED AFTERWARDS. 11.4 TYPES OF CLEANING PRODUCTS Do not use aggressive cleaning products (chlorine-based). 11.5 INSPECTING THE MACHINE AFTER CLEANING Once cleaning is finished, inspect the pipes and check they have no leaks, that the connections are not loose and are not damaged. Remedy any damage immediately. Grease your trimmer completely. 12 REMOVAL AND LONG-TERM STORAGE 12.1 PRIOR MAINTENANCE Before removing your trimmer, clean and grease it completely. Loosen the belts during long-term storage to prevent damage to them. 12.2 REMOVAL AND STORAGE CONDITIONS For the HE, HM, HL, HG and HR trimmers, removal should be done via the brackets delivered with the machine, and in accordance with the way the machine has been attached to the tractor. Consult your dealer to define the right removal method. The trimmer should be stored in the shelter of weather conditions and away from children. The trimmer should be stored on flat, horizontal, hard ground. 12.3 PERIODIC CHECKS DURING STORAGE During storage, make regular checks to ensure that all the safety elements are in their place (protective housings, etc.). 12.4 RESTARTING THE MACHINE AFTER STORAGE When restarting your trimmer, check the following points: Retighten the belts Presence of all safety devices Pressure and condition of tyres (HR option) Condition of the blades Absence of hydraulic leaks 13 DISMANTLING AND DISPOSAL When your trimmer reaches the end of its career, you will have to dispose of it. Before dismantling, put the drained hydraulic oil into a container (never throw it out directly into the environment). You can now dismantle the trimmer and eliminate all metal scrap. Not included in the guarantee are the following parts: Wearable parts (blades). Transmission belts. Hydraulic hoses and pipes. The guarantee covers parts that are recognised as defective and have been subject to a prior demand to our AFTER-SALES SERVICE; transport, assembly or dismantling remain at the cost of the client. Guarantees cannot cover the following: Use of the machine for purposes other than that intended Tractor power or technical characteristics that do not correspond to those recommended for the equipment. Any breakdowns or seizures due to incorrect maintenance, misuse or bad handling. Any modifications or additions of parts to our machines will cause the guarantee to be null and void. Our company declines all responsibility for accidents to people or objects resulting from incorrect maintenance, misuse or non-compliance with the safety instructions related to the use of our equipment.
