BERMAD Irrigation Media Systems Model 4000 BERMAD sand media filtration systems offer a low maintenance and efficient method to filter organic material and fine inorganic particulate from irrigation system water sources. When using Basalt or high quality crushed silica as the filtration media, these BERMAD filters can provide up to a 74 micron (200 equivalent mesh) degree of filtration. BERMAD media filters offer much easier installation and maintenance due to the low-profile system configurations. Features and Benefits Low Profile Configuration Easier Installation and Maintenance Double-Chambered Tanks with Mushroom Diffusers Low filtration pressure loss. No gravel pack required Modular Design Flexibility for system layouts with wide range of flow rates Rugged Carbon Steel Construction 125 psi maximum operating pressure Protective Coating 120 micron durable protective coating eliminates corrosion Rubber-coated metal legs isolate filter from the ground to prevent damage to coating Typical Applications Provides primary filtration for drip / micro irrigation systems Primary filter for inorganic particulate from well water sources Primary filter for organic material from surface water sources

350 Series Valve The BERMAD Model 350-P Valve is a compact, 3-Port valve with a T configuration. The valve is doublechambered, hydraulically operated and diaphragm actuated. It is designed for automatic backwashing of filtration systems. The Model 350-P is available with Angle-Flow (A) and Straight-Flow (S) configurations. Angle Flow: Model IR-2 x2 -A-P-P-V1 Tank s: 16, 20, 24 Straight Flow: Model IR-3 x3 -S-P-V-V1-PG Tank s: 30, 36 Straight Flow: Model IR-4 x 4 -S-P-V-V1- UC Tank : 48 Features and Benefits Line Pressure Driven Double Chambered Design Wide application range Requires low application pressure Protected Diaphragm Dynamic Sealing Seals at very low pressure Prevents seal friction and erosion Engineered Composite Material Valve Design Highly durable chemical and cavitation resistant Short Stroke Shaft Smooth changes of flow direction Eliminates mixing of supply and waste water Angle Flow Valve Principal of Operation Straight Flow Angle Flow Straight Flow [2] [1 ] [7] [3] [7] [3] [2] [1 ] 2 C 2 [6] [4] [5] C 2 C [4] 2 C [5] [6] A Hydraulic Command [1], which pressurizes the Upper Control Chamber [2], forces the Diaphragm [3] actuated Plug Assembly [4] to move towards the Supply Port Seat [5], eventually sealing it drip tight. This allows flow from the filter through the Drain Port Seat [6]. Venting the upper control chamber causes the line pressure, together with the Spring [7] force, to move the Valve back to filtration mode. A Hydraulic Command [1], which pressurizes the Lower Control Chamber [2], forces the Diaphragm [3] actuated Plug Assembly [4] to move towards the Supply Port Seat [5], eventually sealing it drip tight. This allows flow from the filter through the Drain Port Seat [6]. Venting the upper control chamber causes the line pressure, together with the Spring [7] force, to move the Valve back to filtration mode.
