Installation guide Thermal Energy Meter Suercal 739 Installation The rescritions related in the standard EN1434-6 must be resected when the Suercal 739 is installed. Deending on its articular version and use (heat and/or cooling meter), the energy meter must be fitted on the cold or hot ie side of the installation in comliance with the indications showed on the LCD dislay, 1 st osition of the service menu hot ie / cold ie. In the standard version, the integrator is arameterised by default for installation on the cold ie side. Installation on the hot ie side must be secified with the order. In any articular installation, mixed mounting ositions (horizontal and vertical) must be avoided because the measuring ranges are different. Place the flow meter correctly according to the direction of the fluid (an arrow can be seen on the flow meter). Horizontal mounting with the integrator facing downwards is not ermitted. Also avoid fitting in a osition which may cause an air bubble to build u inside the mechanical meter. The energy meter must be fitted between two shutoff valves. The flow meter must be installed ahead of any monitoring valves so as to avoid any otentially interfering influence. Waterroof will be checked at the various mounting oints. The heat conveying liquid must be equivalent to water without any additives according to standard FW510 of the AGFW (German District Heating Association). If additives are added to the water, the user must ensure the comatibility of the materials used in the thermal energy meter which are in contact with these additives. The integrator can be searated from the flow meter and installed at a sufficient distance from the flow meter if: - The meter has to be installed in a confined sace. - In a cooling installation, ossibility to isolate the flow meter. The ies are generally free from air before the installation is brought into service. Follow the insulation instructions for cooling installations. Final commissioning must be erformed and documented. Wall-mounting of the integrator The integrator can be searated from the flow meter and fixed against a wall using the wall fixture sulied with the energy meter. If ossible, install the wall fixing comonent above the flow meter. The wall fixing comonent, together with a double-sided adhesive tab, is delivered with the Suercal 739 (Figure 1). The wall fixing comonent can also be screwed on to the wall (screws are not sulied). To searate the integrator from the flow meter ress laterally with one hand on the two locking buttons, while ulling the integrator uwards (Figure 2). Fix the integrator onto the wall fixing comonent taking care not to jam the cable which connects the integrator to the flow meter and stick the adhesive tab behind the wall comonent. Secure the assembly to the wall (Figure 3). Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 To remove the integrator from the wall suort, it will be sufficient to ress laterally on the two locking buttons while ulling the assembly towards you. Rewind the connection cable at the osition rovided for this urose on the flow meter (1) and re-insert the integrator (2). Mounting the temerature sensors The temerature sensor cables are rovided with a coloured indicator late: -Red for mounting in the ie on the hot side. -Blue for mounting in the ie on the cold side. The Suercal 739 is delivered with a cable length of 1.5 m for the temerature sensors. The temerature sensors form a sub-assembly matching the integrator. The temerature sensor cables must be neither shortened nor lengthened. The temeratures of use shown on the label must be resected. A temerature sensor may be fitted directly in the flow meter. The temerature sensors will referably be fitted directly, in other words one temerature sensor will be fitted in the flow meter while the other sensor will be installed on the other side of the heat exchanging circuit. Tightening the nuts of the sensors Ø 5 and Ø 5.2mm with ½ to ¾ turn from the comression of the seal When the sensor ockets are emloyed, these must be used secifically for the two temerature sensors and must corresond to the list set out below. Asymmetrical mounting is also ossible. In that case, a temerature sensor will be fitted directly in the flow meter of the energy meter while the other temerature sensor will be fitted on the other side of the heat exchanging circuit in a sensor ocket defined according to the table set out below. To guarantee accuracy in this tye of use, the following conditions must be resected: minimum temerature T min 6 K when the minimum flow is less than 100 l/h. Make sure that the sensors are mounted until they stall with the bottom of the sensor ocket. The electrical characteristics are dislayed on age 12. General The comact mechanical single or multile jet thermal energy meter Suercal 739 is a recision measuring instrument aroved for individual metering of heating systems and must be handled with care. The Suercal 739 is available in a heating or cooling version and determines the thermal or cold energy exchanged by a heat-bearing fluid in a heat exchanger circuit. The Suercal 739 comlies with the requirements of the Euroean Directive MID 2004/22/EC modules B and D and of the standard EN 1434 class 3. Imortant! The energy meter may only be used under the conditions indicated on the manufacturer s rating late! In the event of failure to comly with these instructions, the manufacturer declines all liability. The seals must not be removed or may be removed only by authorised ersons. If these conditions are disregarded, the factory warranty and the calibration will no longer be the manufacturer s resonsibility. The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of any modification of the metrological data or of the measurement arameters if the manufacturer s seal is damaged. For cleaning, a moist cloth is sufficient. Do not use solvents. Use only accessories rovided by the manufacturer. Do not shorten the cable between the flow meter and the integrator and the cables for the temerature sensors or modify them in any way whatsoever. Before installation Check the installation data and comare them with the secific characteristics of the thermal energy meter. The rules for installation and those relating to the roject must be resected. The environmental temerature range for the energy meter is 5...55 ºC. Make sure that the meter and the labels can be read easily. All connections must be made at a minimum distance of 300 mm from high frequency or high voltage cables. Avoid thermal radiation and interfering electrical fields near the integrator and connection cable. As a rule, the integrator must be installed at a distance from ies carrying refrigerating fluids. Action must be taken to ensure that no condensation water can enetrate inside the integrator. If there is any risk of vibrations, the integrator must be installed searately on the wall. If the secific temerature of the fluid within the flow meter regularly reaches 90 C, the integrator must be installed searately from the flow meter. It is advisable to drain the installation before fitting the flow meter. This will enable any foreign body to be withdrawn from the ie. Security with lithium batteries 3V lithium batteries are used. Certain security rules must be resected: the relacement of batteries or to add a second battery is not allowed. During recycling, the following oints must be resected: Do not recharge or short-circuit, rotect against humidity, do not exose to heat, do not throw batteries in fire, kee out of reach of children. Advice on disosal: In order to maintain and rotect the environment, to reduce waste of natural resources and revent ollution, the Euroean Commission has established guidelines according to which manufactures must take back electrical and electronic devices in order to forward them to a regulated disosal or recycling system. If you disose of the batteries yourself, enquire about the ossibilities of recycling in your region. 0739P300-E Installation Suercal 739 EN 21-04-2015 6 Sontex SA, 2605 Sonceboz, Switzerland

Error codes The Suercal 739 integrator dislays an error message with the 3 letters Err and a code. If several errors occur at the same time, the different codes are added together. The error is dislayed in the first osition of the dislay menu. It will still be ossible to select all the other dislay menus by ressing the navigation button. If the navigation button is no longer ressed for a eriod of 3 minutes, the error code will automatically aear again in the first osition of a dislay menu. Dislay of an error automatically disaears when the error is no longer resent. Err 1: Flow higher than 1.2 x qs or defective hydraulic sensor. Err 2: Measured temerature outside the homologated range or temerature sensor defective. To make sure that the temerature sensors have not been cross during assembly, the temerature difference between the outward and return temeratures can be checked on the dislay. Deending on the use (thermal or refrigerating), this temerature difference may be either ositive or negative. Dislay The Suercal 739 LCD dislay has been designed to be large enough and erfectly readable by the user. Dislay sequence To dislay general data on the integrator, several windows have been created in the form of menu/sub-menu functions. Deending on the chosen version of the energy meter, some menus may be added. The Energy window of the main menu is the basic dislay. The navigation button enables the user to change from one menu to another and to access the different ositions within a menu. Short ressure on the navigation button ermits transition from one menu to another or continuation to the next dislay while remaining in the same menu. Long ressure (> 2 seconds) on the navigation button gives access to sub-menu within a menu or enables the Energy window to be dislayed from within a menu. After 3 minutes, the dislay automatically reverts to the basic Energy window. 0739P300-E Installation Suercal 739 EN 21-04-2015 7 Sontex SA, 2605 Sonceboz, Switzerland

The meter data are aggregated searately in totalizers and can be shown on the dislay as and ; they can also be transferred via the communication interface which is installed in the integrator. The Suercal 739 is delivered with a cable length of 1.5 m for the ulse meters. Pulse outut function Deending on the defined variant, Suercal 739 offers the ossibility of integrating two oen collector ulse oututs which can reresent hot energy, cold energy or volume. Thermal version: - Outut S1 = Hot energy - Outut S2 = Volume Thermal/cooling version: - Outut S1 = Hot energy - Outut S2 = Cold energy Whenever the smallest energy unit (hot or cold) and/or volume dislayed on the screen is incremented, 1 ulse will then be transmitted on the corresonding outut cable S1/S2. Examle for energy: Dislay 12345678 kwh ==> outut ulse value for energy = 1 kwh / ulse Dislay 12345,678 MWh ==> outut ulse value for energy = 0.001 MWh / ulse Dislay 123456,78 GJ ==> outut ulse value for energy = 0.01 GJ / ulse Examle for volume: Dislay 12345,678 ==> outut ulse value for volume = 0.001 / ulse Dislay 123456,78 ==> outut ulse value for volume = 0.01 / ulse The Suercal 739 is sulied with a cable length of 1.5 m for ulse oututs. Electrical characteristics of the ulse oututs: oen collector 1 Hz 500 ms. Otical interface The otical interface is installed by default on each Suercal 739. Communication between the Prog739-749 software and Suercal 739 can be effected with an otical couler. The transmission seed via an otical couler is set at 2400 bauds and cannot be changed. We recommend the use of otical coulers sulied by: www.etechnik.de Should communication roblems be encountered, lease refer to the document User Guide Prog739-749 (integrated as PDF in the software). Configuration recognised by otical coulers: For the otical robe listed below, we have noted the filters needed to ermit correct communication with Pro739-749 software: Otical robe Filter P+E Technik : "K1-98" or "K1-06" No filter P+E Technik : "K01-USB" No filter Suercom Radio The Suercom Radio communication interface ermits communication between all Suercom Sontex radio roducts. For this communication interface to be available, it must be secified when the order is laced. The radio module will therefore be installed and configured in the factory. Suercom Sontex units make use of a bi-directional radio technology which is a reliable solution with high erformance for a remote metering system (fixed or mobile). The technology emloyed is based on MFD and Radian 0 rotocols and works at a frequency of 433.82 MHz. The units fitted with the Radio module can be accessed 365/365 days er year from 06:00 to 20:00. The radio address is dislayed in the Service menu if it corresonds to the serial number of the Suercal 739. Technical data of the radio communication system: Bi-directional communication; FSK Modulation; Frequency 433.82 MHz; Radian 0 radio rotocol. The life cycle is calculated for normal metering. Factors such as: the environmental temerature during use, the number of readings taken etc. influence the battery service life. Wireless M-Bus Radio The radio module Wireless M-Bus is used to transfer data according to the wm-bus (EN13757-4) radio communication rotocol and in comliance with the OMS (Oen Metering System) Release V3.0.1. To have this interface of communication available, it will be necessary to secify by ordering. The radio module Wireless M-bus will be installed and configured at the factory. A secific notice will be added with the standard documentation. Powered remote M-Bus The owered remote M-Bus communication interface is a serial interface which ermits communication between different M-Bus devices via a central M- Bus station (er examle: Sontex 634). For this communication interface to be available, it must be secified when the order is laced. The owered remote M-Bus module will therefore be installed and configured in the factory. The M-Bus rotocol is comliant with standard EN1434-3. By default, the rimary address will be configured with the address 0 and the secondary address will corresond to the serial number of the Suercal 739. To change the value of the secondary address, you must use Prog739-749 software or send M-Bus secific orders. The secondary address corresonds to the identification field ID. The rimary address is dislayed in the Service menu with the indication [Addr:]. Technical data for the M-bus communication system: M-Bus rotocol comliant with standard EN 1434-3; free otential interfacing without olarity (the voltage measured on the last device must exceed 36VDC); transmission seed 300/2400 Baud; variable data structure. A M-bus device is seen as two M-Bus charges by the Master. Security seals As sealing varies from country to country, local regulations must be followed. To rotect the system against all unauthorised maniulations, the energy meter, the connection screws, the temerature sensors and the sensor ockets must all be sealed. The seals may only be removed by authorised ersons. In the event of failure to comly with this instruction, the guarantee obligation will lase. It is imortant for the wire seal to be as short as ossible so that it is slightly taut. This is the only way of reventing malicious interference. Position of the seals: 1 1 Seals installed in the factory (1) on flow meter and temerature sensor of the Suercal 739 single jet 1 3 4 2 Seal installed in the factory (2) on the integrator For the Suercal 739 with coaxial multile jet meter, the detector suort (3) fitted to the flow sensor (4) can t be removed A factory seal (1) will be alied to the temerature sensor, mounted in the casule with the threaded union G2. To mount the temerature sensor on the EAS base of the flow sensor with M77x1.5 connection the Sontex seal must be used (S written in black on a grey background). sulied with the meter 0739P300-E Installation Suercal 739 EN 21-04-2015 10 Sontex SA, 2605 Sonceboz, Switzerland
