PRIMADET non-electric delay detonators Dual StoperTM Dual DetTM EZ Stoper EZ Platinum trunklinetm function The Dual StoperTM non-electric blast initiation system is a precise, reliable and millisecond accurate system for sequential blasting in underground stoping, bord & pillar and in-stope tunnelling applications. The combination comprises of a Dual DetTM and either an EZ Stoper or EZ Platinum TrunklineTM unit. They provide a fast, simple and cost effective hook-up while allowing an unlimited number of holes to be shot with inherent sequential timing. description The Dual StoperTM non-electric blast initiation systems (EZ Platinum TrunklineTM + Dual DetTM or EZ Stoper + Dual DetTM ) are comprised of the following main components: Shock tube to transmit a signal to the delay cap. The shock tube is a 3mm diameter plastic laminated tube coated inside with a thin layer of HMX / Aluminium dust, which reliably transmits a low energy signal at approximately 2000m/s from one point to another. Due to the shock tube construction and inner Surlyn tube, the low energy signal will propagate through most sharp bends, knots and kinks that may occur in the shock tube. The outer surface of the tube remains intact during and after functioning. The distinguishable tough, orange outer jacket gives excellent abrasive, oil resistant and tensile properties. The EZ Stoper and EZ Platinum TrunklineTM have a precise surface delay. The delay train contains integral delay elements, anti-static protections and patented safety devices. Standard delay times can vary according to requirements and combinations. The EZ Stoper and EZ Platinum TrunklineTM have a surface connector block that is used to attach the surface blasting cap to the next EZ Stoper and Dual DetTM or EZ Platinum TrunklineTM and Dual DetTM in the chain. This surface connector and cap will reliably initiate up to 3 shock tubes if properly connected, in both directions. The EZ Stoper and Dual DetTM have a precise non-electric, in-hole (8D) detonator that will initiate all cap sensitive explosives and ANFO. Standard delay times can vary according to requirements and combinations. Tape used to bind each unit in a coil, facilitating easy deployment and a reduced chance of tangling. A delay tag to indicate the nominal delay time of the detonators.
advantages simple/flexible accurate reliable The Dual Stoper TM non-electric blast initiation system is factory assembled to the required length and delay time. They can readily and simply be connected to accommodate both basic and complex stoping, bord & pillar and tunnelling initiation requirements. The Dual Stoper TM non-electric delay detonators are manufactured using the most modern robotic production techniques resulting in extreme accuracy and precision. The Dual Stoper TM non-electric blast initiation system is factory assembled-to-order under stringent quality specifications. Continued technological advancement has resulted in patented design changes providing increased reliability, blast after blast. External layer (over-extruded plastic jacket of low density polyethylene) for abrasion resistance and UV protection Middle layer for tensile strength, elongation and chemical resistance Inner Layer (Surlyn) reliably holds the reactive mixture in place Primadet shocktube properties Tensile strength 18kg Elongation 320% Chemical resistance >24 hours at 70 C Fuel resistance Superior oil / diesel resistance Low reactive material No fumes / gasses Non-electric Immune to radio frequencies Initiation by means of a shock wave No fire risks Robust Will propagate through knots & kinks 2
cost effective custom packaging safe The Dual Stoper TM non-electric delay detonators, due to their reliability and sequential firing, provide improvements in advance per blast, hanging wall conditions and fragmentation. Custom packaging densities and combinations are available on request. Cushion Disc* Wipes inside of shell of primary explosives. - Increases shock resistance. - Prevents instantaneous detonation. Sealer Element & Sealer Crimp Maintains constant pressure within detonator as main delay burns. - Improves timing due to consistent pressure within detonator chamber. Starter Element Ensures consistent ignition of less sensitive main delay. - Improves reliability and accuracy of unit. Delay Ignition Buffer* (DIB Screen) Prevents reverse propagation. - Flame from delay cannot initiate shocktube and second detonator. Prevents delay suck-out. - Pyrotechnic delay powder held in place within detonator shell. * Patents. 3
applications Above are typical examples of tie-ups using the Dual StoperTM non-electric blast initiation system that could be applied. 4
primer assemblies If cartridged explosives are being used as a primer, a hole of the correct length must be punched into the primer using a non-ferrous primer punch. Once the hole has been made, the EZ Stoper or Dual Det TM in-hole detonators can be inserted into the cartridge. The shock tube lead can then be half-hitched around the cartridge, for extra security with regard to detonator pull-out. The primer is then inserted into the charge hole according to the mine standard. If ANFO or pumpable emulsion explosives are used, the EZ Stoper or Dual Det in-hole detonators must be inserted as far as practically possible (bottom third of hole), according to mine standard. Always ensure that there is enough shock tube lead to connect onto the lead of the next unit. important instructions Please note the following: Reverse priming is beneficial as the detonator points towards the explosive column, however priming of the charge hole must be done in accordance with the mine standard. Ensure that the EZ Stoper or EZ Platinum Trunkline TM is properly connected to the next unit(s) ( GRIP IT, CLIP IT, SLIDE IT ). Grip It Clip It Slide It The starter initiator must only be attached, once the entire face has been charged and hooked up. An EZ Platinum Trunkline TM is connected to the first hole(s) to be fired. The detonator of the starter initiator is attached to the EZ Platinum Trunkline TM with the use of an EZ Clip or electrical tape. Ensure that all the shock tube leads (1-3) are securely clipped into the EZ Platinum Trunkline TM connector block. The detonator of the starter initiator should be covered with mud to prevent shrapnel from damaging any shock tube leads. All detonators (surface and in-hole) are subject to detonation caused by abuse such as impact, tampering and general misuse. Never attempt to disassemble any detonators due to the above reasons. The shock tube should not be cut or damaged as moisture or dirt entering the tube could cause misfires. Holes loaded with this product and awaiting firing should be guarded or barricaded to prevent unauthorised entry, as per mine standard. Always slide the connector block to the collar of the hole after the connection is complete. Only load (1-3) shocktube leads in the EZ Stoper block as excessive loading may & will result in misfires. Always store detonators and explosives separately. Keep accessories away from sparks, flames or any other sources of ignition. Excessive temperatures may result in spontaneous ignition of explosives and accessories. Store explosives and accessories according to the country rules & regulations. packaging information Additional product lengths and packaging densities are available on your request.
