(California Health & Safety code 25249.5, et seq.) Unpacking When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Bracket w/key Slots Mounting Holes Figure 1 2. 3. Use the two mounting holes on the back of the Key Cabinet as a template. Position the Key Cabinet against the wall. Use a pencil to mark the mounting holes. Set the Key Cabinet aside. Note: It is best to locate a wooden stud behind the wall for mounting or use Drywall Anchors (not included) when installing into drywall. See Figure In the wall, drill holes (0.144 dia.) where previously marked with the pencil. Caution: Before drilling holes, check for hidden electrical wires, pipes or cords in the drilling path. Line up the mounting holes on the back of the Key Cabinet with the holes drilled into the wall. Use correct hardware (not included) and tighten the screws that will hold the Key Cabinet securely in place. Page 3
Note: Hook the keys along the inside of the cabinet on the brackets. See Figure setting YOUR CODE There should be no preset code for the key box when it arrives. The door should be closed but not locked when the factory ships it. To open the door just turn the Handle. If the key box arrives locked or if you lock it by accident, slide the clear button down and then turn the knob to open the door. Follow the step below under changing the code, to set your own personal code. See Figure 2 changing THE CODE Turn Handle Pad (4) Clear Button Figure 2 Decide on your new personal code. You may only use each number once. Use a 3 to 8 digit number. It is important that you remember this number. Write it down in a safe place that can be found if you forget the number. NOTE: It does not matter which order you punch in your numbers. For instance if your code is 1-2-3, you can input your code as 3-2-1 or 3-1-2 and the lock will still open. Page 4

Use a flat-head screwdriver (not provided) to unscrew the small knob that holds the numbered plate on the back of the Key Pad (4). Remove and set aside. See Figure 3. Page 5

These slotted disks are numbered and represent each of the ten available digits. With the screwdriver, gently turn the slotted disk that represents the first number in your code. Turn it 180o. The triangle now points downward. Repeat this step for each of the numbers in your code. See Figures 4 & 5. Slotted Disk Number not working. s s Number working. Figure 5 5. 6. Replace the plastic plate and secure it with the Knob. Tighten with the screw driver. Once you have input your code, you should check that it has been correctly set. Keep the Key Cabinet door OPEN. DO NOT close the door or replace the plastic plate until you are sure your code works. It is recommended you try it at least three times. Page 6
8. Press your new code. Press the Top Open Button. Turn the Handle. Door should click and open. See Figure 6. Note: If any of the numbered buttons fail to depress after you have set your code, then check that they have been turned a fully 180o. Repeat the previous steps. Check for loose mounting screws and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. Do not use damaged equipment. Wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dust or soil. Air dry before replacing keys and closing the door. Page 7
