Introduction Specialists Since 1985 Our Secondary lazing System is designed and manufactured to the highest specification. It is used throughout the United Kingdom to reduce noise levels, exclude draughts and minimise heat loss. While being practical it is also one of the most aesthetically pleasing secondary glazing systems, with slim and discrete features to minimise its impact on your interior. The units are all available in a variety of colours should you wish to colour coordinate with your existing windows and interior decor. A unique flyscreen has been designed to compliment our Secondary lazing system. This provides much needed ventilation during the summer months and helps to stop unwanted insects from coming into your home environment. With the addition of this flyscreen our Secondary lazing system covers all your needs from reducing heat loss and draughts in the winter, reducing noise all year round and keeping your home insect free during summer months. System Specification SECTIONS Outer frames and insert panels are made from warp free rigid sections of extruded aluminium alloy 6063 T6 B.S. 14 (E9TE). FINIS Our standard finish is white semi-gloss polyester powder coated aluminium to B.S. 6496. Silver Anodised, Brown and RAL colours are available at extra cost. Most wooden sub-frames are pre-primed in white. Brown units are supplied with hardwood unpainted sub-frames and trims. WEATERIN LAZIN SUBFRAMES TRIMS Moisture repellant, rot free silicone treated polypropylene pile strip is fitted to all insert panels, providing a draught free seal. 4mm or 6mm float glass is used in accordance with B.S.CP 152 and 4mm, 6mm toughened, 6.4mm laminated are used in accordance with B.S.6262. All glazing is carried out at the factory prior to despatch, each panel being bedded in lazepta synthetic rubber gaskets thus providing a cushioning effect. The aluminium outer frame can be stapled to a wooden sub-frame, either mm (), mm () or 69mm (SF4), which is grooved out to receive a serrated tongue, this gives additional outer frame strength. (mm) is fitted as standard but if reveal fixing or a deep surround is required to provide adequate clearance from the existing window fittings, (mm) or SF4 (69mm) is available at an additional cost. Trims can be provided in a variety of sizes/styles. They come in four finishes including oak, tulip, primed tulip or white PVC. We reserve the right to make changes to the product specification as technical developments dictate, and without prior notice. Pictures shown are for illustrative purposes and are not binding in detail, colour or specification. 4

Secondary Systems Our secondary glazing is available in four main systems; Economy Odd Leg, Slim-Line Equal Leg, Subframe and eavy Duty. Each system is available in a range of different styles as listed below. Economy Odd Leg Our Economy Odd Leg system is a very cost effective aluminium secondary glazing system. It is easy to fit, with pre-drilled fixing holes. Simply face fix your secondary glazing onto the existing windows. Available Styles: ŸFixed ŸTwo Track orizontal Slider ŸBalanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸNon-Balanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸButt & Friction inged ŸLift Out Luxury Subframe Our Luxury Subframe system has an additional wooden frame that wraps around the aluminium frame. The subframes come in a choice of wood types and depths for face fixing or reveal fixing. Trims are available to give a neat clean finish. Available Styles: ŸTwo & Three Track orizontal Sliders ŸTilt Back Balanced Vertical Slider ŸBalanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸNon-Balanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸButt & Friction inged ŸLift Out Face Fix Face Fix Reveal Fix Slim-Line Equal Leg Our Slim-Line secondary offers the slimmest sight-lines out of our four systems. The system is all aluminium and can be face or reveal fixed. Available Styles: ŸTwo Track orizontal Slider ŸTilt Back Balanced Vertical Slider ŸBalanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸNon-Balanced Vertical Slider (No tilt facility) ŸLift Out Available Styles: eavy Duty Our eavy Duty system is stronger and more robust than our other secondary glazing systems. Sound Insulation Lining the reveals with acoustic absorbent material (fibreboard) is beneficial because it can reduce reverberation in the cavity, giving an overall improvement of 2-6 db, according to its area and absorption characteristics. Increasing the width of cavity produces an increase of sound insulation, but not pro rata. Beyond a spacing of about 0mm it is normally uneconomical to install such windows because the incremental acoustic improvement is small.
