All that remains to be assembled is the engine-pump unit. The engine-pump unit must be attached to the skid, and the connecting plumbing be installed between the tank and the engine-pump unit. GENERAL INFORMATION The purpose of this manual is to assist you in operating and maintaining your skid sprayer. Please read it carefully as it furnishes information that will help you achieve years of dependable trouble free operation. WARRANTY / PARTS / SERVICE Products are warranted for one year from date of purchase against manufacturer or workmanship defects. Your authorized dealer is the best source of replacement parts and service. To obtain prompt, efficient service, always remember to give the following information: 1. Correct part description and part number. 2. Model number of your sprayer. 3. Serial number of your sprayer. Part description and part numbers can be obtained from the illustrated parts list section of this manual. Whenever you need parts or repair service, contact your distributor/dealer first. For warranty work, always take your original sales slip, or other evidence of purchase date, to your distributor/dealer. Assemble all parts as shown in the illustrated parts list section of this manual. Apply a good quality thread sealant to all threads. 1. Stand the tank and skid assembly on end (tank side down). 2. Assemble the fittings to the underside of the tank, per the exploded view drawing(s). 3. Attach the hoses to these fittings per the exploded view drawing and secure in place with their respective hose clamps, according to hose size. 4. Route the hoses (Items 11, 12 & 13) through the space between the tank, saddle, and skid frame, towards the front of the unit. 5. Return the skid to the horizontal position. 6. Attach the engine/pump base plate (Item 8) to the skid using (4) 5/16" x 3/4" hex bolts and 5/16" flange locknuts. 7. Affix the strainer mounting bracket (Item 17) to the skid, as shown in the exploded view, using (1) 5/16" x 3/4" hex bolt and (1) 5/16" flange locknut. 8. Attach the strainer sub-assembly (Item 35) to this strainer mounting bracket using (2) 1/4" x 1" flange lockscrews and (2) 1/4" flange locknuts. Note the direction of flow per the arrow on the strainer itself. 9. Attach the hoses to their respective places, per the exploded view drawing(s) using the hose clamps indicated. Do not mis-match the hose lengths. 10. Secure the drain valve assembly to the skid using the clip provided (Item 22), 1/4" x 1" flange lockscrew (Item 28), 1/4" flatwasher (Item 7), and 1/4" flange locknut (Item 3). (see Detail A ) 11. Assemble the nylon fitting (Item 26) to the handgun (Item 30). 12. Attach the handgun hose (Item 9) to the handgun and the other end of (Item 37), and secure in place with 3/8" hose clamp(s) TESTING THE SPRAYER It is important to test the sprayer with plain water before attempting actual spraying. This will enable you to check the completed sprayer for leaks in the plumbing system. 1. Open tank lid and be sure the tank is clean and free of foreign material. Fill the tank about one half full with plain water. 2. Open the valve at the strainer inlet and allow water to flow to the pump. The valve is located at this point to enable the strainer to be taken apart for cleaning. CAUTION: Always be sure that water has reached the roller pump before starting your sprayer. If the pump is run dry, serious damage to your pump will result. 3. It is best to start the sprayer at little or no pressure. This sprayer is equipped with a spring loaded relief valve. Turn the valve screw out to decrease pressure and in for increased pressure. 4. You may now start the sprayer engine following the engine manufacturers instructions. Let the sprayer run at low pressure until water has reached the handgun, and all air has been purged from the handgun line. CAUTION: Care must be taken, being sure the handgun is secured in the operators hand. If this is not done a recoiling action may occur causing damage or personal injury. 5. The pressure should now be increased to 30-40 P.S.I. Operate the sprayer at this increased pressure for 3-5 minutes, thoroughly testing the unit before adding chemicals. 6. Add proper amounts of water and chemical to the tank. The sprayer should now be ready to spray. AFTER SPRAYING After use, fill the sprayer part way with water, start the sprayer and allow clear water to be pumped through the plumbing system and out through the spray nozzles. Use the handgun on the sprayer to thoroughly wash all internal parts of tank and tank cover. Refill the tank about half full with plain water and use a chemical neutralizer such as NUTRA-SOL or equivalent and repeat cleaning instructions above. Flush the entire sprayer with the neutralizing agent. Follow the chemical manufacturers disposal instructions of all wash or rinsing water. WINTER STORAGE Drain all water out of sprayer paying special attention to pump, valves, and handgun. These items are especially prone to damage from chemicals and freezing weather. The sprayer should be winterized before storage by pumping a 50-50 solution of water and anti-freeze (with past inhibitor) through the entire plumbing.
