Blowfish Racing, LLC 200 Old Love Point Road Stevensville, MD 21666 steve@blowfishracing.com 410-643-1127 Next Gen Front Tow Hook Kit, 2005-2014 Mustang - ALL Congratulations on the purchase of your Blowfish Racing, LLC Front Tow Hook Kit! You have chosen a quality, American Made product that has been Engineered for the demands of the racing world with style you'll be proud to show off on the street. WARNING: Tow Hooks are intended to provide a safe place to tie onto the vehicle for slow speed, short duration, CONTROLLED extractions from off-track situations. Yanking a vehicle from this tow point is not advised and may result in damage. They do not prevent damage to body parts that hit obstacles in an extraction, nor do they prevent damage to drive train components. Improper use may damage body, frame and drive train. Any damage from misuse is the sole responsibility of the customer. THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY AND HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY NHTSA AND MAKES NO CLAIMS TO BE SAFE IN A COLLISION, NOR BE 5MPH CRASH COMPLIANT. Blowfish Racing, LLC is not responsible for damage or bodily harm incurred from an accident on the track or street. WARRANTY: This product is guaranteed to be manufactured to a high quality standard. If the part or finish fails within 1 year, it can be returned for a new replacement. Shipping costs back to us is the customer's responsibility. Any mis-use of this product will void the warranty. PROPER EXTRACTION WITH OUR TOW HOOK: Hook or tie onto the Tow Hook with one end of a tow rated chain or strap at least 20ft long. Position the end of the strap or chain out as far as it will go to take up any slack. it must be positioned within 45 degrees of the centerline of the vehicle to prevent damage to the bracket or the vehicle's frame. Hook or tie the other end to the tow vehicle in a place that is safe. The driver of the stranded vehicle must be in the driver seat during extraction to control the steering wheel and brakes. Release the parking brake and put transmission in neutral on the towed vehicle. The tow vehicle must lurch away from the towed vehicle until the strap is taught. Then slowly pull the vehicle to a roll, while the driver of the towed vehicle steers and brakes as needed to keep the strap or chain taught. Only tow until the towed vehicle is in a safe area to park or drive away. DO NOT TOW ANY VEHICLE FOR PROLONGED PERIODS. UTILIZING THE TOW HOOK TO WINCH ONTO A TRAILER: Regular use of the Tow Hook Loop with a metal hook will result in finish chipping away and possible loop deformation. Neither of these will result in failure of the product, but can look unsightly. It is recommended to use the provided Loop Protector Strap between the Loop and the metal hook. This will ensure no metal or unevenly distributed loads on the Loop, as well as protect it's finish. Now that we have that out of the way, let's get your Tow Hook and Bracket installed already! NOTE: Instructions are specific to the bumper covers for 2010-2012 Mustang V6/GT/BOSS. Please consult a shop manual for vehicle specific bumper cover removal and installation instructions.

STEP 1: Preparation READ THESE DIRECTIONS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION! NOTE: Instructions for removing and reinstalling the bumper cover do not specifically apply to all trim levels. Location, type and quantity of fasteners may vary, depending on trim level, options and aftermarket parts previously installed. If the vehicle is already equipped with a Laguna Seca or World Challenge Splitter, remove it first. STEP 2: Radiator Cover Removal Remove Push-in Fasteners (see REF 1, BLUE arrows) by lifting center "button" with flat blade screwdriver or tool. Then pull up on main "button" to remove. Remove Radiator Cover. REF 1 STEP 3: Bumper Cover Removal Remove (2) 8mm bolts (see REF 1, RED arrows). Remove (4) 7mm bolts (see REF 2, GREEN arrows). Remove (4) 7mm bolts (see REF 3, ORANGE arrows). Carefully pull bumper out away from fenders to release it from the clips at the joint (see REF 3, PURPLE arrows). Carefully pull the bumper out at the same place REF 3 picture illustrates to clear the lip (see REF 3, orange arrows) from the inner fender liner. Repeat both pulling processes on the opposite side. The bumper can now be pulled forward just enough to be able to disconnect the electrical connections, Brake Cooling Ducts or Aftermarket items previously installed. Disconnect the (2) fog light connectors (if equipped). Disconnect the (2) side marker light connectors (side marker lights are shown in REF 3 picture). Carefully remove air temp sensor (see REF 4, BLACK arrow) from the lower valance opening, while leaving it connected to the electrical harness. Verify the bumper is not connected to any part of the vehicle and carefully remove the bumper. Set the Bumper Cover aside in a safe location that won't scratch any surfaces. A Blanket on an area of the floor that is out of the way, is an acceptable method to keep the Bumper Cover safe. REF 2 REF 3 (Driver side shown. Pass side same) REF 4

STEP 4a: Bumper Cover Support Foam Removal Remove (4) Push-in Fasteners (see REF 5, LT GREEN arrows) with flat blade screwdriver or tool. Remove Bumper Support Foam. REF 6 REF5 STEP 4b: Laguna Seca Splitter Support Bracket Removal (IF EQUIPPED) You must remove this bracket to install The Tow Hook Bracket. Your new Tow Hook Bracket has the optional attachment points for the Splitter Struts included. Locate and remove the (4) nuts securing the Bracket to the backside of the Bumper Beam. Remove Splitter Support Bracket. REF 7 STEP 5: Front Bracket Installation Insert (4) Carriage Bolts into square holes of Front Bracket as shown in REF 6 ORANGE arrow. NOTE: Included in the kit are 2 different lengths of Carriage Bolts. Use the shorter bolts when not using Spacer Block (pictured in REF 12, BROWN arrow). Install Front Bracket on Bumper Beam with "BR" logo facing forward and right side up as shown in REF 7. Engage Front Bracket into dimples on the angled surface of the Bumper Beam, just behind the raised lip(see REF 8, PURPLE arrows). These dimples are spaced so that the Tow Hook Kit can be located on center or offset to the left or right. Choose the appropriate position for your application. NOTE: some 2005-2009 models have a center rib in the lower fascia opening that requires the Tow Hook Kit to be offset to clear the rib. REF 8

STEP 6: Rear Bracket Installation Insert (2) Clip Nuts into Rear Bracket with the protruding threaded barrels facing inward as shown in REF 9, LT GREEN arrows. Clip Nuts will be forced around the material to engage into the holes and wrap around at the recessed areas of the Rear Bracket flange. Install Rear Bracket behind the Bumper Beam by tilting it back and engaging the Carriage Bolts into the rectangular slots in the lower flange (as shown in REF 10, RED arrow) and then working it up until the upper flange tucks in below the Front Bracket flange. The Rear Bracket has tabs that engage into dimples on the bottom of the Bumper Beam, just like the Front Bracket does. Make sure those are engaged. NOTE: some aftermarket Heat Exchangers sit close to the back of the Bumper Beam, which makes it difficult or impossible to tilt the Rear Bracket. In this case, try assembling the Front to Rear Brackets offset and then work them back to the desired position. Otherwise, temporarily unbolting the Heat Exchanger and pushing it away from the Bumper Beam may provide enough room. REF 9 REF 10 Bolt the Front Bracket to the Rear Bracket with (2) Hex Flange Bolts (as shown in REF 11, LT BLUE arrows). DO NOT TIGHTEN UNTIL LATER!! REF 11

STEP 7: Loop and Splitter Bracket Assembly If using a Splitter with Support Struts, install the (2) Clip Nuts onto the Splitter Bracket as shown in REF 13, LT GREEN arrows. install the Splitter Bracket (see REF 12, PURPLE arrow) onto Carriage Bolts. If installing on a 2010-2012 Mustang (excluding GT500), or you desire a lower Tow Loop height...to clear a license plate, for example...install the Spacer. NOTE: Be sure you have installed the longer Carriage Bolts in STEP 5 if using the Spacer. Install the Tow Loop. This can be installed with the hinge up or down to raise or lower the Loop position (see REF 14). Cut the outer shape with a scissors. Thread the template between the Fascia and the Bumper Cover and position it centered to the Fascia with the two "V" shapes engaging into the ribs in the Bumper Cover. The center rectangular cutout is for the Loop. The two round holes are optional for access to the Splitter Bracket with Splitter Supports. 2007-2012 GT500: Remove Lower Grill Mesh. Loosely install Bumper Cover. Determine where the Tow Loop will pass through the Mesh, mark and trim. Remove Bumper Cover and reinstall Mesh into Bumper Cover. REF 2013-2014 12 GT500: SKIP THIS STEP Install the (4) Hex Flange Nuts LOOSELY. Now squeeze the Front and Rear Brackets together while tightening the (2) small Hex Flange Bolts to 15ft/lbs and the (4) Hex Flange Nuts to 35ft/lbs. NOTE: Bottom surface of Front and Rear Brackets may deform and the two parts are drawn together. This is normal, as the tolerances between Bumper Beams vary. If using the Splitter Bracket, this deformation may draw the two ends down. If this occurs, bend them back up to sit just below the bottom surface of the Bumper Beam lip. Remove the Loop and Pin in preparation to reinstall the Bumper Cover. STEP 8: Lower Fascia/Grill Modification REF 13 2005-2014 Mustangs (excluding GT500)with Lower Fascia Grill Mesh: Remove Lower Grill Mesh. Loosely install Bumper Cover. Determine where the Tow Loop will pass through the Mesh, mark and trim. Remove Bumper Cover and reinstall Mesh into Bumper Cover. REF 14 2005-2009, 2013-2014 Mustangs (excluding GT500) without Lower Fascia Grill Mesh: SKIP THIS STEP 2010-2012 Mustangs (excluding GT500) without Lower Fascia Grill Mesh: GT and BOSS Lower Fascias have an upper lip that must be trimmed to allow the Loop to exit below. This modification can be completed without removing the Fascia from the Bumper Cover. Included with the Kit is a cutout template.

STEP 9: Front Bumper Cover Installation Reverse the directions from STEP 3. Do not snap in the bumper cover-to-fender clips or reinstall hardware until checking for the following: 1) Make sure the connecters are all reattached. 2) Make sure the temp sensor is reattached to the Lower Fascia or at least the harness is loose and not pinched. 3) Make sure that the Bumper Cover wheel well lip is over the inner fender. 4) Make sure that the lowest part of the Bumper Cover is below its attachment flange. 5) Make sure that the Tow Hook Bracket doesn't interfere with any part of your Bumper Cover or Lower Fascia. Torque all Bumper Cover attachment bolts to 28in/lbs. STEP 10: Final Assembly Attach the Hook Loop that was removed earlier. STEP 11: ENJOY YOUR BLOWFISH RACING, LLC FRONT TOW HOOK KIT!
