The KIERMAR AHP Power, speed, and flexibility are the keywords for the new High Tonnage Press from KIERMAR: Power Pressing e.g. heat exchanger plates in stainless steel is a challenge to any hydraulic press manufacturer, as it demands a huge press force. The result is often enormous machines with big cylinders which are nearly impossible to repair in case of a breakdown. Other presses use more than one operation to obtain the desired result. The KIERMAR AHP is a groundbreaking machine without any of these disadvantages. Speed By using two die carts in each production cycle the output capacity boost can be higher than 60% compared to conventional setups. Flexibility Production with die cart 1, while changing die on die cart 2 shift to a new production batch in less than two minutes. A unique bolster design allows for several, different dies in the same die cart simultaneously. Other benefits include: Compact design; low height. The AHP s bolster design requires far less pressure than conventional presses to obtain the desired forming force reducing oil volume and wear on pipings and fittings. Substantially lower power consumption than conventional presses. Works with existing dies; only minor modifications needed. Control system with intuitive, state of the art interface. Servo driven Pick & Place robots allow the KIERMAR AHP to integrate into advanced, efficient production solutions. Modular design makes repairs and maintenance easy and straightforward. 3

Press cycle 2 One die set in production while changing the die on opposite side B A Production runs on Die A (or Die B), while a complete die change is prepared on the opposite die cart. Each individual zone can be controlled independently, applying the optimum pressure for each forming process. This concept opens endless possibilities for combining dies of different shapes and sizes in one production. 5

KIERMAR AHP Technical advantages and customer benefits in a single view: Powerful, with less power consumption! KIERMAR AHP is faster than a conventional press with significantly lower power consumption. The specially designed press bed cylinders make it possible to operate with only 170 bars from the pumps and only 550 bars in the high pressure system. Optionally, we can build the press bed using only direct pressure from the pumps without a high pressure system but still delivering the force needed to make heat exchanger plates. Extreme flexiblility, easy die change Die change on the fly due to the possibility of producing with one die set while making another set ready for automated die change. Production interruption is less than 2 minutes. Use your existing tools with only minor changes. You can also run several, smaller dies in the same operation making it possible to produce all your sizes with only one machine. Compact, modular design, easy maintenance With its low building height, the AHP can run in most existing buildings provided you make a reinforced concrete foundation. In case of a breakdown, you will be up running again in a few hours. The press is built completely modular, enabling easy and fast repair and maintenance work. High output capacity, fully automated The KIERMAR AHP has a very high output capacity often more than +60 % due to the possibility to operate with a double die system and/or more dies in the same operation. The design enables you to produce all your designs/ sizes in just one press and you will be able to make extensions (e.g. longer heat exchanger plates) for future designs.the AHP is fully automated with built-in, servo driven robots and is equipped with an industrial computer with very intuitive user interface.
