The is latest version of the Commander 10x5 machine introduced in 1995. This machine has been designed to dominate the market area for large, high throughput machines. The is a new improved and enlarged version of the original Commander 10x5 and has all its main features, but now adds larger engine sizes, larger hopper and grid and new improved Shredder options. There are four distinct machines in the range 1. Standard 2. Shredder, which is a single shaft swinging flail type shredder 3. Turbo Shredder, which is an ultra high performance single shaft swing flail type shredder with secondary floating cleaning shaft. The Turbo Shredder unit produces finely shredder material at very high production rates 4. Rinser. The has been designed to suit World-wide standards and meets all European & USA legislation on transport requirements, noise levels, exhaust emissions, safety guarding etc. New features on the machine include remote greasing, additional feeder safety guards, belt adjustment external to safety guards, powerunit completely enclosed and sound suppressed. The is a versatile and modern machine. It has a robust design to maximise productivity and minimise running costs and has the capability of processing a large range of materials.
The Powerscreen is a mobile screening plant. Typical overall production figures for the are 300 Tonnes (330 U.S. Tons) per hour when screening free running sand through a 6mm (1/4 ) speedharp and 150 Tonnes (165 U.S. Tons) per hour when screening stone through a 20mm (3/4 ) square mesh top deck and 12mm (1/2 ) square mesh bottom deck. Note that these are guideline figures and overall production figures achieved in a particular situation will be determined by the raw material, size of screen meshes and operating conditions. The machine has been designed to comply with all CE requirements (EN 292). The CE legislation makes provision for more stringent guarding and safer maintenance procedures. The fits at the top end of the present Powerscreen range and it is a completely new designed machine. HOPPER Continuous belt feed with a 3 ply 1050mm (42 ) wide conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is driven by a hydraulic motor with a variable speed adjustment to determine the feed rate. The Hopper has been designed with a large volumetric capacity (including grid) of 9.0m 3 (11.8 cu. yds) REJECT GRID The manually/remote tipping reject grid has a loading shovel width of 4.5m (15 ) to accommodate large capacity loading shovels. The standard aperture is 100mm (4 ), but a 150mm (6 ) option is also available. MAIN CONVEYOR The main conveyor belt is 2 ply 900mm (36 ) wide and carries the raw material from the feeder to the screen unit. The main conveyor is completely skirted with the rollers incorporated in a low mounting position. SCREEN UNIT Two-deck 3.05m x 1.55m (10 x 5 ) four bearing, direct displacement type giving 3 way separation of raw material. Welded or woven (square or elongated) or speedharp screens can be fitted. These screens are end tensioned. Screen angle is hydraulically adjustable
POWERUNIT The basic engine is a latest design Deutz Liquid cooled diesel engine BF4M 1012C, 82kW (110 Hp) developing 72kW (97 Hp) at 2200 rpm. The powerunit is completely enclosed, sound suppressed and lockable. The engine is protected by an on board diagnostic system which stops the engine in the event of low oil pressure, low coolant level or high engine coolant temperature. Air filter blockage is also monitored. This powerunit complies with European legislation on noise emissions. Deutz have developed this latest engine to comply with all existing and further legislation on exhaust emissions. TRANSPORT The is fitted with a single axle. The design incorporates 5th wheel kingpin, a detachable towbar for on site movement and hydraulic jacking legs to increase portability. CHASSIS The chassis is designed to accept alternative axle arrangements or braking facility where necessary, for special machines or special transport requirements. COUPLING FACILITY A coupling facility comes as standard. The when coupled with 2 off M 70 stockpilers has sufficient horse power and hydraulic capacity to maintain a maximum throughput of 300 Tonnes (330 U.S. Tons) per hour*. OPTIONS Screen unit 3rd deck dry version of the 3.05m x 1.55m (10 x 5 ) screenbox is available giving 4 way separation of raw material. Grid The machine comes with the option of a 150mm (6 ) grid spacing. The 150mm (6 ) grid spacing is supplied as standard equipment with both the Single Shaft Shredder or the Turbo Shredder option. A hydraulic tipping facility is available operated by an air switch with command pipeline. A remote tipping device activated by an infra red hand remote transmitter is a further option. Vibrating Grid A single deck vibrating grid mounted on top of feed hopper is available as an option featuring a heavy duty 2 bearing 3.05m x 2.14m (10 x 7 ) screenbox. This comes complete with hydraulic screen angle adjustment and can be fitted with a variety of screen mesh options including square or elongated meshes, finger screens or Bofor steel protection deck. The Vibrating Grizzly screenbox is hydraulically coupled to the hydraulic system.
Powerunit Higher power capacity powerunits are available, depending on the application and power requirements, e.g. driving 3 off M 70 stockpilers at high tonnage s or Shredder attachment. The Deutz BF4M1012C turbo engine is the standard engine for Commander 510 Shredder. When fitted with the option of an additional hydraulic circuit, this engine provides sufficient engine horse power and hydraulic capacity to enable the following possibilities: 1. The coupled with 3 off M 70 conveyors to maintain a maximum throughput of 400 Tonnes (445 U.S. Tons) per hour* (see previous note). 2. The coupled with 1 off M 70 and 1 off M 100 conveyors to maintain a maximum throughput of 400 Tonnes (445 U.S. Tons) per hour* (see previous note). The Diesel / hydraulic option of a Deutz BF4M1013C, 108 kw (145 Hp) engine is also available, (this is supplied as standard engine for Commander 510 Turbo Shredder). Electric / hydraulic drive is an option for Dry and Rinser options only. All Electric drive is also a option for Dry and Rinser an options only. Note: All the powerunits have been designed to be interchangeable. This in turn provides a greater range of options and allows more flexibility and adaptability.

Tandem solid axle, spring suspension, heavy duty brakes (TUV Spec) Rinser screen unit Heavy Duty two-deck 3.05m x 1.55m (10 x 5 ) four bearing, direct displacement type giving 3 way separation of raw material. End tensioned, quick release woven screens are fitted. The screen unit is fitted with a complete rinsing attachment consisting of 7 off spray pipes on the top deck and 7 off spray pipes on the bottom deck, each pipe being fitted with 25 spray nozzles. A washbox, replacing the standard spreader V-plate, complete with spray pipe fitted with 7 off high output spray nozzles is fitted in front of the main conveyor head drum to feed moistened raw material evenly onto the screen unit top deck. All spray pipes are fed from a 150mm (6 ) main supply pipe and water flow requirements are 3650 lts/min (800 gals/min) at the recommended minimum pressure of 1.4 bar (20 psi) rising to 4100 lts/min (900 gals/min) at 1.7 bar (25 psi) and so on. The screen unit is fitted with catchbox to direct sand, silt and water which pass through the bottom deck mesh via troughs to the Dewaterer. Either one or two grades of sand can be produced. The Deutz BF4M1012C engine comes as standard.
Single Shaft Shredder The is offered with a single shaft swinging flail type shredder. The shredder chamber has an inside width of 800mm (32 ). The flail shaft is fitted with 30 off 70mm x 20mm (2.75 x 0.75 ) section hardened steel flails. The shredder is mounted on two pivoting arms and can be raised hydraulically out of the way when the shredding facility is not required. To provide the necessary power the powerunit is fitted complete with an additional hydraulic circuit to operate the shredder drive motor. The shredder has an optional rotavator type shaft which accepts 18 off fixed rotavator blades. Turbo Shredder The Turbo shredder is a purpose built high performance single shaft swinging flail type shredder with secondary floating cleaning shaft. The shredder chamber has an inside width of 800mm (32 ). The flail shaft is fitted with 45 off 70mm x 20mm (2.75 x 0.75 ) or 90 off 70mm x 13mm (2.75 x 1 / 2 ) section hardened steel flails. The shredder is mounted on two pivoting arms and can be raised hydraulically out of the way when the shredding facility is not required. The Turbo Shredder is a unique design and has sufficient reserves of engine and hydraulic power to produce finely shredder material at very high production rates. The secondary floating shaft allows large stones to pass through without causing damage to shredder components and without interrupting the shredding process. To provide the extra power for the Turbo Shredder the powerunit is fitted with the larger Deutz BF4M1013C 108 kw (145 Hp) engine as standard complete with an additional hydraulic circuit to operate the shredder drive motor. Note: The Single Shaft Shredder and Turbo Shredder units have been designed to be interchangeable to provide more flexibility and adaptability.
