Installation & Maintenance Instructions NUFORS G1/2 & G3/4 Pneumatically operated demand drain GENERAL OPERATION 04/08 The NUFORS removes condensate from compressed air systems. The operation is automatic and there is no unnecessary compressed air lost during the condensate discharge cycle. The NUFORS uses pneumatic forces to operate the valve assembly and is ideally suited in applications where power is not available, too expensive or not reliable. 1
SAFETY and PROPER USAGE To ensure safe and enduring performance of this product, you must comply strictly with the instructions enclosed herein. Non-compliance with instructions or improper handling of the product will void your warranty! This product is designed to drain condensate from compressed air systems. Usage of this product in conditions not specified in this manual or in contrary to the instructions hereby provided is considered IMPROPER. The manufacturer will not be held liable for any damages resulting from improper use of the product. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT NOTICE Before installing this product make sure it complies with your request and that it suits your application! Unpack the unit and visually inspect for any transport damage incurred after leaving our factory. Available pressure range options are: NUFORS 0.8 3 bar NUFORS 3 9.9 bar NUFORS 10 16 bar Check the label on your NUFORS to verify you have the correct version. Depressurise the system before installation or maintenance is carried out! Top inlet connection. The use of a strainer is advisable. The NUFORS can be installed by using the top inlet or by using one of the two side inlets. Please choose one of the two installation methods. The top inlet illustrations start on page 2. The side inlet illustrations start on page 4. 2
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Connect the outlet to an oil/water separator. We recommend to use a PURO Condensate Cleaner. Slowly open the ballvalve to restore normal system pressure. Press and hold the test button to test the pneumatic valve function Your NUFORS with top inlet connection is now ready for operation! 3
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS If a top inlet installation is not possible i.e. due to space limitations. You can install the NUFORS using the side inlets and airbleed. Side inlet connection. The use of a strainer is advisable. Notice: An airbleed line to a higher situated point in your compressed air system is required. Airbleed Inlet and airbleed line should have equal pressure. Use either one of the side inlets. Connect the outlet to an oil/water separator. We recommend to use a PURO Condensate Cleaner. Slowly open the ballvalve to restore normal system pressure. Press and hold the test button to test the pneumatic valve function. Your NUFORS with side inlet connection is now ready for operation! 4
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS These instructions are for cleaning the NUFORS. If your NUFORS requires maintenance, i.e. replacement of wearing components, please refer to our dedicated maintenance instructions (supplied with the service kit). Close the condensate Unscrew the 4 bolts supply. to disassemble. Remove condensate and compressed air by pressing and holding down the TEST button. Use a dampened cloth to clean the chamber. Make sure to remove all debris. Use a dampened cloth to clean the ball and moving parts. Unscrew the 6 screws to remove the top part of the valve assembly. Use an air-gun to clear the air-channels and to remove debris and small parts that can damage the valve-assembly. Re-assemble your NUFORS. Your NUFORS is now ready for operation!
