IROGRAN Thermoplastic Polyurethanes Inspiring design innovation Product Overview
IROGRAN TPU: Inspiring design innovation The manufacture of modern products, engineering components and technical parts can be complex. Success depends on many factors. Most notable is the availability of multi-faceted, raw materials that can perform consistently, speed manufacture, and bring design blueprints to life in line with end user requirements. Huntsman is one of the world s leading developers of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) an innovative engineering material. For years our TPU solutions have inspired inventors and engineers to push new design frontiers. Fusing the practical qualities of plastic with rubber, our TPUs are used in modern manufacture to meet the design and production challenges of a fast-changing world and enrich the performance of anything from cables, seals and tubes to hoses, films, shoes and conveyor belts. Offering numerous advantages over traditional engineering plastics, TPUs provide the following benefits as standard: Good abrasion, chemical and hydrolysis resistance Low temperature flexibility Fast cycle times High elongation and tensile strength Good compression set IROGRAN is the brand name for our range of polyester and polyether-based TPUs. Products from this extensive portfolio are fully customizable and can be used in an array of technical extrusion and injection molding applications including: Wires and cables Hoses and tubes Machinery belts and profiles Automotive components Technical parts Overmoldings Films and sheets Textile lamination Compounding
TPU innovation Huntsman Polyurethanes is committed to continuous innovation across all areas of its thermoplastics business. For customers looking to develop specific applications, achieve particular features or deliver precise performance benefits, we offer direct access to a team of technical experts and a network of specialist laboratories located around the world. Key grades IROGRAN E and D: polyester-based TPU grades with a hardness range spanning Shore A 60 to D 60, high hydrolysis resistance and good crystallinity for injection molding and extrusion applications. IROGRAN H: polyester-based TPU grades with good flow characteristics and the high mechanical performance properties required for injection molding. IROGRAN P: polyether-based TPU grades with excellent resistance against hydrolysis and microbial attack for injection molding and extrusion applications. IROGRAN K: polycaprolactone and polyether-based TPU grades with good processability and compression set plus excellent wear resistance against oils, grease, water and high temperatures making them suitable for the high performance injection molding of seals, wheels and rollers. IROGRAN PS: polyester-based TPU with a broad processing window, ideally suited to compounding and extrusion applications such as film and sheet, textile laminations
