Require all operators to read this manual carefully and become acquainted with all adjustments and operating procedures before attempting to operate the equipment. Replacement manuals can be obtained from your selling dealer. The equipment you have purchased has been carefully engineered and manufactured to provide dependable and satisfactory use. Like all mechanical products, it will require cleaning and upkeep. Lubricate the unit as specified. Please observe all safety information in this manual and safety decals on the equipment. Use only genuine service parts. Substitute parts will void the warranty and may not meet the required standards for safe and satisfactory operation. Throughout this manual, the term IMPORTANT is used to indicate that failure to observe procedures can cause damage to equipment. The terms CAUTION, and DANGER are used in are used in conjunction with the Safety-Alert Symbol, (a triangle with an exclamation mark), to indicate the degree of hazard for items of personal safety. This Safety-Alert Symbol indicates a hazard and means ATTENTION! BECOME ALERT! YOUR SAFETY IS INVOLVED! DANGER Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. INTRODUCTION FEATURES AND ACCESSORIES STANDARD ITEMS The three-point snow blower is equipped with the following standard items. Category three-point mounting frame. PTO - Category 4 driveline and plastic guards. Protected with Grade 2 sheer bolts. Adjustable and replacable skid shoes. Manually adjustable deflector and chute. Replacable bolt-on cutting edge. 4
SAFETY SAFE OPERATION NEEDS A QUALIFIED OPERATOR For an operator to be qualified, he or she must not use drugs or alcoholic drinks which impair alertness or coordination while working. An operator who is taking prescription drugs must get medical advice to determine if he or she can safely operate a machine and the implement. A QUALIFIED OPERATOR MUST DO THE FOLLOWING: Understand the Written Instructions, Rules and Regulations The written instructions from manufacturer include the Delivery Report, Operation & Maintenance Manual, Operator s Handbook, Safety Manual and machine signs (decals). Check the rules and regulations at your location. The rules may include an employer s work safety requirements. Regulations may apply to local driving requirements or use of a Slow Moving Vehicle emblem. Regulations may identify a hazard such as a utility line. HAVE TRAINING WITH ACTUAL OPERATION Operator training must consist of a demonstration and verbal instruction. The new operator must start in an area without bystanders and use all the controls until he or she can operate the machine and implement safely under all conditions of the work area. KNOW THE WORK CONDITIONS Know the weight of the materials being handled. Avoid exceeding the machine and implement load capacities. Material which is very dense will be heavier than the same volume of less dense material. Reduce the size of load if handling dense material. The operator must know any prohibited uses or work areas, for example, he or she needs to know about excessive slopes. Wear tight fitting clothing. Always wear safety glasses, respiratory equipment, and hearing protection when doing maintenance or service. 5

SAFETY USE SAFETY RULES Read and follow instructions in the machine and the implement s Operation & Maintenance Manual before operating. Check for underground lines before operating implement (if applicable). In addition to the design and configuration of equipment, hazard control and accident prevention are dependent upon the awareness, concern, prudence and proper training of personnel involved in the operation, transport, maintenance and storage of equipment. Check that the implement is securely fastened to the machine. Depress brake pedals (or make sure parking brake is engaged) and make sure all the machine controls are in the NEUTRAL position before starting the machine. Always start the machine from the operator s seat. Operate the implement according to the Operation & Maintenance Manual. When learning to operate the implement, do it at a slow rate in an area clear of bystanders. DO NOT permit personnel to be in the work area when operating the machine and implement. The implement must be used ONLY on approved machines. DO NOT modify equipment or add implements that exceed manufacturer s specifications. DO NOT make any adjustments or repairs on the machine or implement while the engine is running. Keep shields and guards in place. Replace if damaged. SAFETY RULES FOR POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) DRIVEN IMPLEMENTS Keep PTO shields and all guards in place. Replace damaged or missing shields and guards before operating. Follow warnings and instructions on machine signs (decals). Replace damaged or missing decals. Do not wear loose or bulky clothing around the PTO or other moving parts. Keep bystanders away from PTO driven equipment, and never allow children near machines. Read and understand the manuals for the PTO driven equipment and be aware of safe operating procedues and hazards that may not be readily apparent. Always walk around equipment to avoid coming near a turning PTO driveline. Stepping over, leaning across or crawling under a turning PTO driveline can cause entanglement. Position the machine and implement hitch correctly to prevent driveline stress and separation. Use caution when turning. Turning too sharp can cause driveline damage. Use caution when raising PTO driven implement. Excessive driveline angle can cause driveline damage. Use stops if needed. COMPACT TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS AND CAPABILITIES Compact tractor must be equipped with sway bars or chains. Stop the compact tractor and engage the parking brakes. Install blocks in front of and behind the rear tires of the compact tractor. Install blocks underneath and support the implement securely before working under raised implements. Keep bystanders clear of moving parts and the work area. Keep children away. 8 Use increased caution on slopes and near banks and ditches to prevent overturn.
SAFETY Make certain that the Slow Moving Vehicle emblem is installed so that it is visible and legible. When transporting the equipment, use the compact tractor flashing warning lights and follow all local regulations. Before leaving the compact tractor operator s seat:. Park on flat level ground. 2. Fully lower the loader arms and put the implement flat on the ground (if equipped). 3. Fully lower the three-point hitch or mid-mound implements (if equipped). 4. Lock brake pedals together and engage the parking brake. 5. Place all controls in neutral. 6. Stop engine, unfasten seat belt and remove the key. Never allow riders on the compact tractor or implement. Falling off can result in serious injury or death. Start the compact tractor only when properly seated in the operator s seat. Starting a compact tractor in gear can result in serious injury or death. Operate the compact tractor and attachments / implements from the operator s position only. Add the correct front ballast for rear three-point hitch implements and pull type implements. Add the correct rear ballast when using the loader and implements. Front and rear ballast can be purchased from your compact tractor dealer. The parking brake must be engaged before leaving the compact tractor operator s seat. Rollaway can occur because the transmission may not prevent machine movement. Lock the brake pedals together before activating the parking brake. FIRE PREVENTION MAINTENANCE The machine and some implements have components that are at high temperatures under normal operating conditions. The primary source of high temperatures is the engine and exhaust system. The electrical system, if damaged or incorrectly maintained, can be a source of arcs or sparks. Flammable debris (leaves, straw, etc.) must be removed regularly. If flammable debris is allowed to accumulate, it can cause a fire hazard. Clean often to avoid this accumulation. Flammable debris in the engine compartment is a potential fire hazard. The operator s area, engine compartment and engine cooling system must be inspected every day and cleaned if necessary to prevent fire hazards and overheating. All fuels, most lubricants and some coolants mixtures are flammable. Flammable fluids that are leaking or spilled onto hot surfaces or onto electrical components can cause a fire. OPERATION Do not use the machine where exhaust, arcs, sparks or hot components can contact flammable material, explosive dust or gases. ELECTRICAL Check all electrical wiring and connections for damage. Keep the battery terminals clean and tight. Repair or replace any damaged part or wires that are loose or frayed. Battery gas can explode and cause serious injury. Use the procedure in the Operation & Maintenance Manual for connecting the battery and for jump starting. Do not jump start or charge a frozen or damaged battery. Keep any open flames or sparks away from batteries. Do not smoke in battery charging area. 9
SAFETY FUELING Stop the engine and let it cool before adding fuel. No smoking! Do not refuel a machine near open flames or sparks. Fill the fuel tank outdoors. STARTING Do not use ether or starting fluids on any engine that has glow plugs. These starting aids can cause explosion and injure you or bystanders. Use the procedure in the Operation & Maintenance Manual for connecting the battery and for jump starting. SPARK ARRESTOR EXHAUST SYSTEM The spark arrestor exhaust system is designed to control the emission of hot particles from the engine and exhaust system, but the muffler and the exhaust gases are still hot. Check the spark arrestor exhaust system regularly to make sure it is maintained and working properly. Use the procedure in the Operation & Maintenance Manual for cleaning the spark arrestor muffler (if equipped). WELDING AND GRINDING Always clean the machine and implement, disconnect the battery, and disconnect the wiring from the controllers before welding. Cover rubber hoses, battery and all other flammable parts. Keep a fire extinguisher near the machine when welding. Have good ventilation when grinding or welding painted parts. Wear dust mask when grinding painted parts. Toxic dust or gas can be produced. Dust generated from repairing nonmetallic parts such as hoods, fenders or covers can be flammable or explosive. Repair such components in a well ventilated area away from open flames or sparks. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS Know where fire extinguishers and first aid kits are located and how to use them. Inspect the fire extinguisher and service the fire extinguisher regularly. Obey the recommendations on the instructions plate. 0
SAFETY IMPLEMENTING MOUNTING FRAME 2 The parking brake must be engaged before leaving the operator s seat. Rollaway can occur because the transmission may not prevent machine movement. Lock the brake pedals together before activating the parking brake. Inspect the lower three-point mounts and lower mounting pins (Item ) and upper three-point mount and pin (Item 2), along with all welds on the three-point snow blower for wear and damage each time the three-point snow blower is removed from the compact tractor. Check the following items at the start of a work day: Check for damaged or missing decals. Replace if necessary. Inspect the three-point hitch linkage, PTO shaft splines, guards, and shields. Replace if damaged or missing. Repair broken or loose parts. See your machine Operation & Maintenance Manual for detailed information on inspecting the three-point hitch. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately. THREE-POINT HITCH Disengage the PTO (rear and mid), engage the parking brake, stop the engine and make sure all rotating components are completely stopped before connecting, disconnecting, adjusting or cleaning any PTO driven equipment. Always keep PTO shields and all guards in place when using PTO driven equipment. Disengage PTO (rear and mid) for road travel. Keep hands, feet and clothing away.
ATTATCHING MACHINE / IMPLEMENT SETUP MANUAL DISCHARGE CHUTE ROTATION The discharge chute can be rotated to the area where the snow is to be thrown. 2 Use ROPS and fasten the seat belt. Install the correct front ballast. Never modify equipment or use unapproved implements. Operate the compact tractor from the operator s seat only. Keep bystanders away. Never carry riders. To rotate the discharge chute (Item ) left, turn the hand crank (Item 2) clockwise. To rotate the discharge chute (Item ) right, turn the hand crank (Item 2) counterclockwise. DEFLECTOR ADJUSTMENTS Before you leave the operator s seat: Fully lower the loader arms, put the attachment flat on the ground (if equipped). Fully lower the implement(s) to the ground (if eqauipped). Lock brake pedals together and engage the parking brake. Place all controls in neutral. Stop the engine, unfasten the seat belt and remove the key. Exit the compact tractor. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor. INSTALLATION THREE-POINT IMPLEMENT NOTE The illustrations and instructions provided explain how to install a three-point snow blower on to a compact tractor. 2 3 Always inspect the compact tractor s three-point hitch and implement three-point mounting frame before installation. See the Compact Tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual. (See DAILY INSPECTION on Page 0.) The deflector (Item ) can be adjusted to control the distance snow is thrown. To adjust the deflector, remove retaining pin (Item 2) and pin (Item 3), tilt the deflector up or down. Realign the holes and install pin (Item 3) and retaining pin (Item 2). Warnings on the machine and in the manuals are for your safety. Failure to obey warnings can cause serious injury or death. Ballast may need to be added to the front of the compact tractor for proper operation when three-point hitch implements are installed. 2
ATTATCHING NOTE: The following pictures may not show your exact three-point implement but the procedure is the same. A B C 3 NOTE: The top link (Item ) has three mounting positions (Items A, B & C). The top link is shown in the C position. Use the B position when installing the snow blower. 2 C Before backing the compact tractor, look in all directions and make sure no bystanders are in the work area. Do not allow anyone between the compact tractor and the implement when backing up to the implement for installation.. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine and release the parking brake.. Remove the retainer pin (Item 2) and pin (Item 3). 2. Move the top link (Item ) to the B position and install the pin (Item 3) and retainer pin (Item 2). 2 2 3. Move the drawbar (Item ) to the storage position or remove (if necessary). See the Compact Tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual for detailed information. 3 2 2. Drive the compact tractor to the implement and align the lower links (Item ) with the implement lower mounting pins (Item 2) (both sides). 3. Lower or raise the compact tractor s three-point hitch lower links (Item ) until they are even with the lower mounting pins (Item 2) (both sides) of the three-point implement. 4. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 2. The three-point hitch lower links must be set wide enough to clear the implement mounting pins. 3. Remove the sway bar pins (Item 2) (both sides) and move the lower links (Item 3) as needed. Reinstall the pins (Item 2). 3
ATTATCHING INSTALLATION (CONT D) Remove the top link from the storage position bracket. Keep arms and feet away from implement while raising and lowering. Do Not stand between compact tractor and implement. Move the three-point hitch position lever slowly. 2 Keep fingers and hands out of pinch points when installing and removing implements. Lower the top link (Item ) until it aligns with the implement upper mounting hole. Install the pin (Item 2) and retainer pin. NOTE It may be necessary to lengthen or shorten the top link to align it with the implement mounting hole. (See Top Link Adjustment on Page 5.) The implement can be leveled front to back by adjusting the top link. (See Top Link Adjustment on Page 5.) The implement side to side sway will need to be adjusted. (See Sway Bar Adjustment on Page 5.) 2 3 5. Install the lower link (Item ) on the implement pin (Item 2) (both sides). Install the retainer pin (Item 3) (both sides). 6. The sway bar pins can be removed to help with the installation of the lower links to the implement pins. IMPORTANT To prevent hose damage caused by dragging on the ground, rubbing, pinching or PTO entanglement: Support attachment and implement hydraulic hoses using available hose guides or supports. Contact your implement or attachment dealer for available hose guides or supports. 4
ATTATCHING INSTALLATION (CONT D) LIFT LINK ADJUSTMENT SWAY BAR ADJUSTMENT. The sway bars (Item ) (both sides) are used to center the implement between the tires and limits the implement s side to side movement.. The right lift link (Item ) is used to adjust the side to side level of the implement. See the compact tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual and Operator s Handbook for detailed information on adjusting the lift link. TOP LINK ADJUSTMENT 2. Remove the pin (Item ) from both sway bars. 2 3. Adjust the sway bars to center the implement between the tires. 4. After the sway bars have been adjusted, reinstall the pin (Item ) in both sway bars.. The top link (Item ) is used to adjust the front to back level of the implement. 2. Loosen the lock nut and use the lever (Item 2) to lengthen or shorten the top link. 3. Turn clockwise to lengthen the top link, turn counterclockwise to shorten top link. NOTE When adjusting the sway bars with the implement installed, the implement will need to be raised slightly off of the ground. 4. After the implement has been leveled, tighten the lock nut. 5
ATTATCHING REAR POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) INSTALLATION The compact tractor must be equipped with a rear-pto that has a 540 RPM PTO shaft. Install the implement to the compact tractor. (See Installation on Pages 2-4.) IMPORTANT Improper hitch installation can cause PTO driveline damage. Do not modify the hitch or use an unapproved hitch. Make sure PTO driveline is of adequate length and that u-joints are in the correct phase. Warnings on the machine and in the manuals are for your safety. Failure to obey warnings can cause serious injury or death.. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 2. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor (if applicable). 3. Remove the PTO shaft cover. (See the Compact Tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual and Operator s Handbook for detailed information.) NOTE Reinstall the PTO shaft cover whenever the PTO is not being used. 4. Remove the PTO driveline from the implement storage position. Do not exceed the rated implement PTO speed. Stay clear of rotating driveline. Keep bystanders away. Keep hands, feet, clothing and long hair away. Keep PTO shields and all guards in place. Disengage PTO (rear and mid), engage the parking brake, stop the engine and make sure all rotating components are stopped before exiting compact tractor. Do NOT service the compact tractor or implement with the PTO (rear or mid) engaged. Do NOT service the implement in a raised position unless properly blocked and with all rotating components stopped. Disengage PTO (rear and mid) for road travel. 6
ATTATCHING REAR POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) (CONT D) INSTALLATION (CONT D) REMOVAL. Always park on flat level ground. Fully lower the lift arm and put the attachment flat on the ground (if equipped). 2. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 3. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor (if applicable). Use the correct PTO driveline for use with the compact tractor rear-pto shaft and the implement PTO shaft. Retract the collar (Item ) and slide the PTO driveline onto the compact tractor rear-pto shaft. Release the collar and the driveline will lock onto the shaft. Push and pull the PTO driveline back and forth several times and make sure it is securely attached to the PTO shaft. Before you leave the operator s seat: Fully lower the loader arms, put the attachment flat on the ground (if equipped). Fully lower the implement(s) to the ground (if equipped). Lock brake pedals together and engage the parking brake. Place all controls in neutral. Stop the engine, unfasten the seat belt and remove the key. NOTE The rear-pto driveline must have a means to retain it to the PTO shaft on both the compact tractor and the implement. Keep PTO shields and all guards in place. Keep away from moving parts. Keep bystanders away. Do NOT exceed 540 rear-pto RPM or 2000 mid-pto RPM. Retract the collar (Item ) and pull the PTO driveline off the compact tractor rear-pto shaft. Remove the implement from the compact tractor. (See Removal on Page 22.) Place the PTO driveline into the implement storage position (if available). Install the PTO shaft cover. (See the Compact Tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual for detailed information.) 7
ATTATCHING 8 REAR POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) (CONT D) PTO DRIVELINE LENGTH SHAFT NOTE Due to variations in distances between tractor PTO shafts and implement input shafts, drivelines may need to be shortened or a longer shaft may be required. When fitting the implement to the compact tractor, the PTO driveline, with telescoping sections, must be inspected. When the sections are at the most compressed operating position, the sections must not bottom out. At its shortest length, there must be at least 2 in. (50,8 mm) of clearance between each section end and opposite section end at the most compressed operating position. When the sections are at the most extended position, there must be sufficient engagement between the sections. At its farthest operating extension, a minimum section engagement of 33% of shaft length must be maintained. (See PTO Driveline Engagement Check on Page 9.) PTO DRIVELINE BOTTOMING OUT CHECK PROCEDURE. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 2. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor (if applicable). 3. Disconnect the PTO driveline from the compact tractor and slide the PTO driveline together until fully retracted. 4. Measure the retracted length of PTO driveline. 5. Extend the PTO driveline 2 in. (50.8 mm) from the retracted length and make a mark at the end of the outer shield on the inner shield. 6. Reattach the PTO driveline to the compact tractor PTO shaft. 7. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine. 8. With the rear PTO DISENGAGED, raise and lower the implement and watch the PTO driveline expand and retract. 9. If the outer PTO driveline plastic guard slides in (retracts) over the mark at any point of travel, the PTO driveline needs to be shortened. REDUCING THE LENGTH OF THE PTO DRIVE- LINE. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 2. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor. 3. Remove the PTO driveline from the compact tractor and place in storage position (if equipped). 4. Enter the compact tractor. 5. Start the engine and release the parking brake. 6. Raise or lower the three-point implement to get the shortest distance between the compact tractor PTO shaft and three-point implement gearbox PTO shaft. 7. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 8. Pull the PTO driveline apart and reinstall each individual section; one half to the compact tractor PTO shaft and one half to the implement gearbox PTO shaft. 9. Hold PTO driveline sections parallel to one another and measure back 2 in. (50.8 mm) from the yoke of each section and place mark on opposite section. Cut the plastic shield at this length. 0. Use the plastic shield length that was just cut and align it with the end of the inner shaft. Cut the same amount off the end of the inner shaft.. Round off all sharp edges and debur. 2. Repeat steps 9- for the other shaft section. Equal amounts must be cut from each shaft.
ATTATCHING / OPERATION REAR POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) (CONT D) 3. Thoroughly grease and install the PTO driveline halves together. 4. Recheck for proper operation. PTO DRIVELINE ENGAGEMENT CHECK Exit the compact tractor. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor.. Disconnect the PTO driveline from the compact tractor and slide the driveline sections together until fully retracted. 2. 2. Measure the retracted (compressed) length of the PTO driveline between the bases of the plastic shields. 3. Multiply the retracted driveline length by.667 to determine the PTO driveline Maximum Operating Length. (i.e.: 25.5 in. (647,7 mm) x.667 = 42.5 in. (079,7 mm) Maximum Operating Length). 4. Attach the PTO driveline to the compact tractor PTO output shaft. 5. Enter the compact tractor. 6. With the PTO driveline attached, position the threepoint implement to where the telescoping PTO driveline is at its maximum operating extension. 7. Exit the compact tractor. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor. 8. Measure the length of the PTO driveline between the bases of the plastic shields to determine the maximum operating length. A. If the measured maximum operating length is less than the Maximum Operating Length calculation (from Step 3), the PTO driveline has adequate engagement. B. If the measured maximum operating length is equal to or more than the Maximum Operating Length calculation (from Step 3), the PTO driveline does not have adequate engagement and should be replaced with a longer driveline. See your Tarter dealer for available PTO drivelines. CONTROL FUNCTIONS THREE-POINT HITCH The three-point hitch will be used to raise or lower the implement. (See the compact tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual and Operator s Handbook for detailed information on operating the three-point hitch). CONTROL FUNCTIONS REAR-PTO Engaging the Rear-PTO. Enter the compact tractor. 2. Start the engine and release the parking brake. 3. Lower the implement to the ground. (See the Compact Tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual for detailed information on operating the compact tractor.) 4. Move the engine speed control lever to low engine speed. IMPORTANT To avoid start-up overload on PTO driveline, reduce engine speed to low idle when engaging the PTO. After PTO driveline is rotating, increase engine speed. 5. Engage the rear-pto system (see the Compact Tractor Operation and Maintenance Manual). 6. The rear-pto driveline will start to rotate. 7. Move the engine speed lever to increase engine speed to the correct RPM as indicated on the tachometer. This will cause the rear-pto shaft to rotate at 540 RPM. Do Not exceed a rear-pto speed of 540 RPM. 9
OPERATION DANGER DISENGAGING THE REAR-PTO Keep away from auger, fan and other moving parts. Do not operate with guards removed.. Move the engine speed lever back to the low idle position. 2. Disengage the rear-pto system. (See the Compact Tractor Operation and Maintenance Manual.) 3. Drive the compact tractor and implement to the work area. 4. When operating on a public road or highway, always follow local regulation. For example: Slow Moving Vehicle emblem or directional signals and hazard/flasher lights may be required. NOTE Caution is to be used when raising tahe three-point snow blower when PTO is engaged. OPERATION WITH THE COMPACT TRACTOR DRIVING THE IMPLEMENT AND TRACTOR TO WORKSITE Read and understand the implement Operation & Maintenance Manual and the compact tractor Operation & Maintenance Manual prior to installing or using any implement. 9. Drive the tractor back to the starting end, while moving over up to 3/4 the width of the three-point snow blower to the side to be cleared. 0. Follow steps 6 through 9 until the area is cleared. NOTE The compact tractor speed is determined by the depth and density of the snow OPERATING THE THREE-POINT IMPLEMENT. When at the area to be cleared, lower the three-point snow blower from the travel position. NOTE Damage to three-point snow blower and tractor may be caused if PTO in engaged while in the travel position. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine. 2. Raise the snow blower to travel position. 2. Rotate the discharge chute to the desired position and adjust deflector to control the distance the snow is thrown. (See Machine / Implement Setup on Page 2.) NOTE Damage to three-point snow blower and tractor may be caused if PTO is engaged while in the travel position. Never direct discharge toward bystanders, building or other property. Foreign objects or ice chunks can be thrown great distances. 20
OPERATION 3. The upper link may need to be adjusted to set the cutting edge to get the desired finish for the area being cleared. (See Top Link Adjustment on Page 5.) 4. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine. 5. Raise the three-point snow blower a few inches from ground. ENGAGING THE PTO NOTE The compact tractor speed is determined by the depth and density of the snow Stay at least 0 ft (3m) away from operating equipment. Stop engine before cleaning or servicing. Keep all guards in place.. Move the Engine Speed Control lever to low engine speed. Press the brake pedals and press down fully on the clutch pedal (if applicable). 2. Engage the rear-pto system. 3. Slowly release the clutch pedal (if applicable). 4. The rear-pto driveline will start to rotate and the threepoint snow blower auger will begin to turn. 5. Move the engine speed lever to increase engine speed to the correct RPM as indicated on the tachometer. This will cause the rear-pto shaft to rotate at 540 RPM. Do Not exceed a rear-pto speed of 540 RPM. 6. Lower the three-point snow blower setting the skid shoes on the ground. 7. Start backing up, moving towards the other end of the area to be cleared. Watch for and avoid obstruction and obstacles that may cause damage to the three-point snow blower and tractor. 8. When done with pass, stop backing up and raise the three-point snow blower a few inches off the ground. Use caution when raising the three-point implement when the PTO is engaged, if the threepoint snow blower is raised too high the PTO shaft may bind causing damage. NOTE Caution is to be used when raising the three-point snow blower when PTO is engaged. 9. Drive the tractor back to the starting end, while moving over up to 3/4 the width of the three-point snow blower to the side to be cleared. 0. Follow steps 6 through 9 until the area is cleared. DISENGAGING PTO. Move the engine speed lever back to the low idle position. Press the brake pedals and press down fully on the clutch pedal (if applicable). 2. Disengage the rear-pto system. 3. Slowly release the clutch pedal (if applicable). CLEARING THE DISCHARGE CHUTE. When the discharge chute becomes plugged, disengage the rear-pto system. 2. Always park on the flat level ground. Fully lower the loader arms and put the attachment flat on the ground (if equipped). Lock brake pedals together and engage the parking brake. 3. Place all controls in neutral. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 4. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor. 5. Remove the snow or foreign material plugging the discharge chute. 6. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine. 7. Raise the three-point snow blower a few inches from ground. 8. Engage the rear-pto system. 9. Lower the three-point snow blower setting the skid shoes on the ground. Slowly start backing to make sure the discharge chute is unplugged. 2
DETATCHING REMOVAL REMOVING THE THREE-POINT IMPLEMENT REMOVAL (CONT D) NOTE In muddy conditions or to prevent the implement from freezing to the ground, put the implement on planks or blocks before removing the implement from the machine. 2. Always park on the flat level ground. Fully lower the loader arms and put the attachment flat on the ground (if equipped). Lock brake pedals together and engage the parking brake. 3 2. Place all controls in neutral. Stop the engine and exit the compact tractor. 3. Make sure the PTO driveline and all rotating components have come to a complete stop before exiting the compact tractor (if applicable). 4. Disconnect the PTO driveline (if applicable). (See Removal on Page 7.) 2 8. Remove the retainer pins (Item ) from the implement mounting pins (Item 3) (both sides). 9. Move the lower links (Item 2) out from the implement mounting pins (Item 3) (both sides). (See Sway Bar Adjustments on Page 5.) 0. Reinstall the retainer pins from the implement mounting pins (both sides).. Enter the compact tractor. Start the engine. 2. Slowly drive the compact tractor away from the implement. 3. Remove the front ballast from the compact tractor (if equipped). 5. Remove the retainer pin and pin (Item ). NOTE It may be necessary to lengthen or shorten the top link for pin (Item ) removal. (See Top Link Adjustment on Page 5.) 6. Remove the top link (Item 2) from the implement. 7. Place the top link into the storage position bracket. 22

Loose or broken chute rotation chain. Repair or replace. DESCRIPTION Maintenance work must be done at regular intervals. Failure to do so will result in excessive wear and early failures. The service schedule is a guide for correct maintenance of the product. Instructions are necessary before operating or servicing machine. Read and understand the Operation & Maintenance Manual, Handbook and signs (decals) on machine. Follow warnings and instructions in the manuals when making repairs, adjustments or servicing. Check for correct function after adjustments, repairs or service. Untrained operators and failure to follow instructions can cause injury or death. LUBRICATION / MAINTENANCE REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEMS SKID SHOES Securely block up the implement before working underneath. Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following conditions exist: When fluids are under pressure. Flying debris or loose material is present. Engine is running. Tools are being used. REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEMS (CONT D) GEARBOX FLUID LEVEL IMPORTANT Fluid such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolants, grease, etc. must be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Some regulations require that certain spills and leaks on the ground must be cleaned in a specific manner. See local, state and federal regulations for the correct disposal. 2 Inspect the skid shoes (Item ), repair or replace if any cracks, damage or excessive wear is visible. Tighten or replace any loose or missing bolts or nuts (Item 2). CUTTING EDGE. Remove the plug (Item ) from gearbox. 2. To check the fluid level use a flashlight to look into the gearbox. The fluid level should be about half way up on the drive shaft. 3. For low fluid level, add SAE EP 80W90 to gearbox. 4. When fluid is at the correct level, reinstall and tighten the fill plug. 2 Inspect the cutting edge (Item ), replace if any cracks, damage or excessive wear is visible. Tighten or replace any loose or missing bolts or nuts (Item 2). 24
LUBRICATION / MAINTENANCE CHAIN TIGHTNESS Do not operate with shield removed. Do not modify. REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEMS (CONT D) CLEANING THE THREE-POINT SNOW BLOWER Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following conditions exist: When fluids are under pressure. Flying debris or loose material is present. Engine is running. Tools are being used.. Remove the chain shield by removing the three bolts and nuts (Item ). 2. Installation: Realign holes, tighten bolts and nuts to 25-28 ft.-lb. (34-38 N m) of torque.. Stop the machine and implement on a flat level surface. Engage the parking brake. Disengage the rear-pto and place all controls in neutral. Stop the engine, unfasten the seat belt, remove the key and exit the compact tractor. 2. Disconnect the PTO driveline. 3. Use water or air pressure to clean debris from the threepoint snow blower. 4. Use care when removing any obstructions that are wrapped around auger or driveline. LUBRICATING THE IMPLEMENT LUBRICATION LOCATIONS 3. There should be approximately /2 of an inch of movement in the chain (Item ). 4. To adjust the chain tension, loosen the idler gear. Slide the idler gear to the proper chain tension and tighten. The parking brake must be engaged before leaving the operator s seat. Rollaway can occur because the transmission may not prevent machine movement. Lock the brake pedals together before activating the parking brake. 25
LUBRICATION / MAINTENANCE LUBRICATION LOCATIONS (CONT D) Disengage the PTO (rear and mid), engage the parking brake, stop the engine and make sure all rotating components are completely stopped before connecting, disconnecting, adjusting or cleaning any PTO driven equipment. Always keep PTO shields and all guards in place when using PTO driven equipment. Disengage PTO (rear and mid) for road travel. Keep hands, feet and clothing away. Always use a good quality lithium base multi-purpose grease when lubricating the three-point snow blower. 2. The grease zerk (Item ) is located on the right side of the auger on the bearing block, wipe any excess grease or dirt off before greasing. 3. The grease zerk (Item ) is located on the right side of the three-point snow blower under the chain guard on the bottom of the bearing block, wipe any excess grease or dirt off before greasing.. The grease zerk (Item ) is located on the left side of the auger on the bearing block, wipe any excess grease or dirt off before greasing. 4. The grease zerk (Item ) is located on the gearbox side of the PTO shaft on the knuckle, wipe any excess grease or dirt off before greasing. 26

Remove fill plug (Item ) to fill gearbox to correct operation level. 4. Install and tighten fill plug. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION GEARBOX FLUID CHANGE SKID SHOE REPLACEMENT FLUID CHANGE 2. Remove drain plug (Item ) from the gearbox, draining fluid into an approved container and cleaning up any spills. 2. Install and tighten drain plug.. To remove skid shoe (Item ), loosen and remove the bolts and nuts (Item 2) and remove the skid shoe. 2. Installation: Realign holes, tighten bolts to 65-70 ft.- lb. (88-95 N m) of torque. 27
LUBRICATION / MAINTENANCE / STORAGE CUTTING EDGE REPLACEMENT RETURN TO SERVICE After the implement has been in storage, it is necessary to follow a list of items to return the implement to service. Check for damaged or missing decals. Replace if necessary. Check for loose hardware, missing or damaged parts. 2. To replace cutting edge (Item ), lift and support the three-point snow blower to keep from settling, then loosen and remove the bolts and nuts (Item 2) and remove the cutting edge. Replace worn or damaged parts. Lubricate the implement. Check oil level in the gearbox. 2. Installation: Realign holes, tighten bolts to 65-70 ft.- lb. (88-95 N m) of torque. IMPLEMENT STORAGE AND RETURN TO SERVICE STORAGE Sometimes it may be necessary to store your implement for an extended period of time. Below is a list of items to perform before storage. Thoroughly clean and wash the implement. Check for damaged or missing decals. Replace if necessary. Check for loose hardware, missing or damaged parts. Replace worn or damaged parts. Lubricate the implement. Place the implement on flat ground in a dry protected shelter. NOTE In muddy conditions or to prevent the implement from freezing to the ground, put the implement on planks or blocks before removing the implement from the machine. 28
