Rule of Thumb Rule of Thumb: There should always be a Metal Detector positioned after every Suspended Magnet. The Magnet will remove approximately 95% of recoverable ferrous metals, then the Metal Detector will detect any of the non-recoverable ferrous and also detect non-ferrous and stainless steel contaminants, protecting down stream equipment.
