Construction Staging: Transit Guiding principles: Maintain transit service Maintain peak period frequency Minimize travel time delays Minor detours may be required during construction, but most bus routes will remain the same Adjust schedules as needed for travel reliability Once operational, peak LRT service will be almost twice as frequent as the existing 96B Line peak bus service. LRT and Road Safety LRT is integrated into the street system like any other vehicle. Operators will be welltrained, and LRT vehicles will travel in dedicated lanes. LRT comes with a number of safety features, including: Intersection Improvements: protected green light left turns will make turning easier Cyclist areas: cyclists will have their own dedicated crosswalks at major intersections on King George Boulevard Incident response: protocols will be established to ensure fast and efficient clearing of traffic incidents, keeping LRT moving ducation programs: will be implemented before LRT operations begin, coordinated with ICBC and Road Safety BC

Passenger Security LRT vehicles and stops will be designed to accepted best practices, including: Onboard features: alarm buttons and driver presence at all times. LD lighting: at stops and onboard to deliver consistent illumination for personal safety at night Stop features: fare paid zones, designated waiting areas, and emergency call phones Safety rails: in locations along access ramp at stops, positioned as required for pedestrian safety Curb Barriers: between stops and roadway to protect customers XAMPL, CURB BARRIRS XAMPL, SAFTY RAILS

Traffic Management A traffic management plan will ensure safety for all travellers. Key principles of the plan are: Keep traffic moving Cars/trucks: maintain through lanes Pedestrians: maintain access throughout Cyclists: maintain routes where safe, or provide alternate route Transit: Provide advance notice for transit service changes and maintain scheduling Restrict turning movements at some locations to help keep traffic moving Provide advance notice of all traffic pattern changes Provide and sign alternate vehicle routes Monitor conditions and adjust as required

Access Management Construction will occur in stages along the corridor. An access management plan will help maintain safe and reliable access to properties during construction. Key principles of the plan are: Maintain at least one access to properties at all times Maintain business parking areas nsure access is safe and wellsigned SAMPL ACCSS MANAGMNT WAYFINDING Support access with wayfinding to encourage continued use Respond to concerns in a timely manner SAMPL ACCSS MANAGMNT WAYFINDING

Business, Residential & Community Liaison TransLink and the City will develop and implement a liaison program designed to help manage construction impacts. Stop Design Stops are designed to be highly visible, welllit and support safe pedestrian crossing. They integrate into the communities they serve and offer universal accessibility for all transit riders. Platform shelters protect riders from the elements and maintain line of sight to the street and approaching LRT. Managing Noise, Vibration and MF Key draft noise, vibration and electromagnetic field (MF) requirements are: DURING CONSTRUCTION Notify adjacent property owners in advance of noisy work Schedule meetings with property owners in advance of significantly noisy work Follow best practices in noise and vibration control Comply with City of Surrey noise bylaws and noise level regulations and guidelines established by WorkSafeBC DURING OPRATION Set the public address system at LRT stops at the minimum noise level required to effectively provide customer announcements while minimizing community noise impacts Regularly maintain vehicles and tracks so operation noise levels are within established guidelines Conduct vibration monitoring within the first year of operation, and at any locations where complaints arise, to determine vibration levels in relation to criteria limits Provide noise attenuation measures at specific locations, if and where necessary, as determined by two months of daily and representative operational noise monitoring following substantial completion NOIS MONITORING APPARATUS MF levels are not anticipated to result in health concerns or electronic interference, resulting in no requirements Visit to read the complete nvironmental and Socioeconomic Review report and appendices.

Next Steps Following this stage of engagement, TransLink and the City will prepare a reference design and environmental recommendations for procurement when full Project funding is in place. Additional engagement is planned once a contractor is selected. In the coming months, a community, resident and business liaison program will be implemented to help plan, manage and respond to constructionrelated effects.
