Please carefully read the assembly instructions before beginning the installation, operation and maintenance of the solar facility. Noncompliance could cause injury to persons or damage to the equipment. Store these instructions in a safe place! Work on a solar facility requires specialist knowledge and must therefore be undertaken only by appropriately qualified and authorised specialists. Keep children away! Warnings: Danger to life through electric shock: Solar modules generate electricity as soon as they are exposed to light, and are always under voltage. The voltage of an individual module lies below the safety extra low-voltage limit, but several modules connected in series (summation of voltage) or in parallel (summation of current) represent a danger. Although contact protection is provided by the fully insulated contact plugs, the following must be observed when handling solar modules to prevent fire, sparking and fatal electric shock: Do not insert any electrically conductive parts into plugs and sockets! Do not assemble solar modules and cables with wet plugs and sockets! Tools and working conditions must be dry! Take extreme care when working on cables and use safety equipment (insulated tools, insulated gloves etc.)! Do not use damaged modules! Do not take modules apart! Do not remove the nameplate or any parts attached by the manufacturer! Do not apply any paint or adhesives to the rear of the equipment and do not use any sharp objects to work on it! Danger to life through electric shock: Even when disconnected, high contact voltages may still occur in the inverter: Take extreme care when working on the inverter and on cables! It is essential that after switching off the inverter, and before starting other work, the time intervals stipulated by the manufacturer are observed so that the high-voltage components can be discharged. It is essential that the assembly regulations of the inverter manufacturer are observed!

Danger to life through electric arc: MModules produce direct current when exposed to light. When a closed line is opened (e.g. when disconnecting the DC lead from the inverter under load), this can result in a lethal electric arc: Never disconnect the solar generator from the inverter as long as this is connected to the mains Check that all cable connections are correct (no gaps, no contamination)! Unpacking and storage Observe warning signs on the packaging! Handling the modules requires great care. Therefore, proceed with caution when unpacking, transporting and storing: Carry modules with both hands; do not use the power socket as a handle. Do not bend. Do not place the modules on top of each other. Do not place any loads on the module, do not step on it, do not drop. Do not use any sharp objects to work on it. Keep all electrical contacts clean and dry. For the plant documentation, it is recommended that you make a note of the series numbers. For possible temporary storage, a dry and ventilated room should be made available.

General safety notes: Ensure that the module is used only for its intended purpose. During assembly, ensure that locally prevailing standards, building regulations and accident prevention regulations are observed. If required, structural calculations must be performed. The safety notes of other facility components must be observed as well. The modules are designed for use in application class A: Dangerous voltage (IEC 61730: larger than 50V DC; EN 61730: larger than 120V DC); facilities with dangerous performance where in general, unrestricted access can be expected (for modules that are qualified in this application class according to EN IEC 61730-1 and -2, it is assumed that they meet the requirements of protection class II). Under normal conditions, a solar module may generate a higher current and/or a higher voltage under the expected conditions than was specified in the standardised test conditions. To determine the voltage measurement values of individual components, the current measurement values of conductors, size of fuses and the dimensions of the controls connected to the output of the solar modules, the values of ISC and UOC specified on the module should be multiplied by a factor of 1.25. Installation: During the installation of the module, attention should be paid to: Observing the permissible maximum load The module may be loaded with a maximum of 2.4 kn/m2. Ensure that the maximum load is observed, especially taking into account location-specific loads, such as through wind and snow. Equipotential bonding of module and module frame We recommend that you create an equipotential bonding. The equipotential bonding connection must be approved by a qualified specialist, connecting it must be performed by a qualified specialist. Option: Connecting the module frame with a cable (16 mm²) with cable lugs. To do this, use the drill holes marked with an earth symbol (diameter 4 mm) on the unassigned bar of the module frame on the bottom of the module. To establish an electric conductive connection (the frame is anodised), use a self-tapping screw (diameter 5 mm). 2 or more threads

must be cut into the profile for this. An M4 screw with serrated or tooth-lock washer may also be used. Suitable ambient conditions The module is intended for use under moderate climate conditions. The module is a non explosion-proof equipment. It must therefore not be installed in the vicinity of gases and vapours (e.g. petrol stations, gas containers, paint spraying units) that can easily ignite. The module must not be installed next to or above open flames or flammable material. The module must not be exposed to concentrated light. It must not be immersed in water or exposed to a continuous stream of water (e.g. from a fountain). If contaminated with salt (recommended distance from the sea 500 m) and sulphur (sulphur springs, volcanoes) there is a danger of corrosion. The module must not be exposed to excessive chemical pollution (e.g. emissions through chemicals production). Suitable installation situation Ensure that the module corresponds to the technical requirements of the overall system. No damaging mechanical, thermal or electrical effects may be exerted on the module through other facility components. If connected in series, only modules of the same current strength may be used, if connected in parallel, only modules of the same voltage may be used. It must be ensured that the voltages of the modules connected in series under no circumstances exceed the maximum system voltage of 1,000V. The modules (according to protection class II) must not be operated with a higher voltage than the permissible system voltage. The returned current capacity of the solar modules was determined at 15A. With the connection of more than two modules/strings in parallel, this value may be exceeded in case of error. In this case, suitable line fuses must be deployed (maximum 15A). An installation of the module as overhead glazing or vertical glazing (facade) is not permissible. Make sure that the assembly system also complies with the loads to be expected through wind and snow, for example. On the bottom of the module frame, there are openings through which any rainwater or condensation water accumulated can be drained. Ensure that these openings are not restricted in function through the way the module is installed. Optimal alignment and inclination To achieve the optimal yield of the facility, we recommend that you inform yourself about the suitable alignment and suitable angle of inclination for the modules. Ideal conditions for generating electricity are present when the sun rays fall vertically onto the generator surface. When connected in series, you should make sure that all modules have the same alignment and inclination to avoid drops in performance.

Adequate light exposure Even partial shadowing leads to a reduction in yield. A module is considered to be adequately exposed to sunlight if its full surface is not in the shadow all the year round and if direct exposure to sunlight for several hours is possible even on the most unfavourable days of the calendar. Rear ventilation Rear ventilation avoids heat build-up that could reduce performance.

Attachment: The modules must be securely fixed at least 4 points. The frame is structurally approved for attachment on the long sides; attachment on the narrow sides of the module is not permitted. The contact surface of the terminals should have a minimum area of 70 x 8mm. ee Example for attaching the solar modules to the substructure: Example:Clamping (additional equipotential bonding required) assembly variation module frame, bottom drainage min. 8 mm 4 min. 70 mm stamping with earth symbol d=8mm A torque wrench must be used for assembly. The tightening torque to be applied in the example shown (use screws M8 from V2A) is 16 Nm. Use standard module clamps and suitable corrosion-free mounting material.

Cabling: With the cabling, attention should be paid to: Correct connection In order to reduce voltages through indirect lightning strikes, the surface of all conductive loops must be as small as possible. Before the generator is put into operation, check that the connection is correct. If the measured open circuit voltage deviates from the specifications, there is a connection error. Make sure the polarity is correct. Arranging the modules For series connection, no more than 20 modules, and for connection in parallel, no more than 3 modules may be connected to each other. Over-current protection The modules must be secured with twice the nominal value of the short-circuit current (ISC). Connecting the plug connections correctly Ensure that there are no gaps in the connections.. Use of suitable materials Use only special solar cables and suitable plugs. Ensure that all parts are in perfect electrical and mechanical condition. Use only single-core cables. Select a suitable conductor cross-section to minimise voltage loss. Cable protection Attach the cable to the installation system with UV resistant cable ties. Protect exposed cables from damage with suitable measures (e.g. laying in plastic conduits). Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Maintenance and cleaning If the inclination is sufficient (larger than 15 ), cleaning of the modules is generally not required (self-cleaning due to rain). If there is heavy soiling, cleaning with lots of water is recommended (using a water hose) without detergent and with a gentle cleaning equipment (sponge). Under no circumstances should dirt be scratched or rubbed off when it is dry, as this may cause micro-scratches. We recommend that the facility is regularly inspected for the following:

1. Modules are securely mounted and all attachments are corrosion-free 2. Secure connection, all cable connections are clean and corrosion-free 3. No damage to cables detectable 4. Contact resistors of the equipotential bonding are OK Exclusion of liability: does not assume any liability for the use and functionality of the modules in case of non-compliance with the notes and warnings contained in this user information. Since compliance with this user information and the conditions and methods of installation, the operation, the use and maintenance of the modules cannot be controlled or monitored by, the company shall not be liable for damage caused by improper use, incorrect installation, operation, use or maintenance. This does not apply to damage as a result of a defect in the modules, in cases of injury to life, body or health, or a grossly negligent breach of obligation by or a deliberate or grossly negligent breach of obligation by a legal representative or assistant. In addition, liability for infringement of patent rights or infringement of the rights of third parties arising from the use of the modules is excluded, insofar as a liability is not mandatory by law.
