Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW Inc. Supplementary Regulations (Draft) 1. Authority & Permit. This event will be conducted by the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW Inc. under the following Regulations, AASA NCRs, and any other regulations as issued by the Club. AASA Permit TBA. This event will include both sprint and race sessions. These regulations cover only the sprint sessions. 2. Type of Event Club Practice Day 3. Date Sunday, 1 st July 2018 4. Venue Wakefield Park Motor Racing Circuit Braidwood Road, Goulburn NSW 2580 5. Track Surface Asphalt Length 2.2 kilometres (main circuit) 6. Event Format Cars will be divided into groups based on previous lap times at Wakefield Park recorded in the entered vehicle. The number of cars in any one group will not exceed fourteen (14). In the event that the entrant has not competed at Wakefield Park before, they will be placed in a group with other first timers. Configuration of the groups will be finalised following the closing of entries and will be issued to competitors in the form of a grid sheet. Cars will be started individually with a gap of approximately five (5) seconds between each car, then unless there is an incident the cars should not catch each other. The Clerk of Course or delegated official may transfer Drivers to other groups or to a different starting position within a group during the day, if necessary, to maintain consistent lap times within each group. Note: Grouping of cars to form a mini race anywhere on the circuit is NOT permitted and action will be taken by the Clerk of Course if such an incident takes place. 8. Familiarisation Session: (First Timers Only) Experienced Drivers will take First Timers out onto the track for three (3) laps of instruction in the First Timers vehicle. The First Timer will then drive three (3) untimed laps receiving further guidance and instruction from the experienced driver. These will be untimed laps. 9. Entries a) Maximum number of entries will be eighty-four (84) plus 4 Reserves. b) Maximum number of drivers per competing vehicle will be two (2). c) Entries are open to all members of the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW Inc. along with invited guests. Preferential opening date for MX-5 Club members is Tuesday 5 th June 2018. The general opening date for entries is Friday 15 st June 2018. Should the maximum number of entries be exceeded then preference will be given to members up to Friday 15 th June 2018 and then in order of entry date received irrespective of club members or guests. d) Entry Fee is $220.00. e) Entries will close on Friday 22 nd June 2018 An Earlybird rate is available to MEMBERS ONLY of $190.00 payment must be received no later than Friday 15 th June 2018. - 1 -

f) Late Entry Fee Entries received after the closing date (see above) will incur a $50 penalty. g) Entries must be sent submitted via the MX-5 Club Event Entry System, along with payment of the appropriate entry fee by direct deposit, or by cheque or money order. Cheques or Money Orders are to be made payable to the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW Inc. h) Entry confirmations will be emailed to entrants during the week before the event. i) If an entrant advises the Event Secretary that they are unable to attend the event more than three (3) days before the event then a refund of the entry fee less a cancellation fee of $20.00 will apply. 10. Licence Requirements The event is open to all persons holding the appropriate competition AASA Club Racing Licence or an AASA recognised equivalent standard licence (or higher) which must be presented at registration on the day along with your Club Membership Card. 11. Driver Safety Drivers Apparel must comply with AASA requirements as described in Appendix 4 Apparel Requirements: (http://aasa.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/aasa-apparel-requirements-v0.2.pdf) In summary, drivers must wear: a) A helmet that complies with AS/NZ 1698, European ECE 022 with 04 or 05 amendments, or other acceptable standards as allowed in Appendix 4 above, and must carry markings to that effect. Helmets must be in good condition and must not have any perforations to the outer surface. b) Non-flammable clothing including cover from neck to wrists to ankles (apparel of Nylon or similar material is forbidden). c) Shoes, which completely cover the feet, made entirely of leather or other flame resistant materials. Shoes that contain any synthetic materials such as nylon are forbidden. d) In open cars, goggles or a visor with a lens material other than glass (to AS1609). 12. Vehicle Classes - 2 -

Standard MX-5s Class 1 Standard Road Registered Mazda MX-5 NA6A and NA8 with the exception of Clubman. NA6As are allowed 2 modifications from the allowable modification list. NA8s are allowed 1 modification list. Standard Road Registered Mazda MX-5 NB8A & NB8B all models with exception of 10AE, Heritage SPs & SEs models Class 2 Standard Road Registered Mazda MX-5 SE & NC Class 3 Standard Road Registered Mazda MX-5 ND NOTE: The definition of a standard car is one in the spirit of, as it would have left the factory. i.e. No performance enhancing modifications including tyres. Khumo V70A s or similar will classify a vehicle as modified Modified Road Class 4 Clubman class. Mazda MX-5 NA & NB vehicles including Clubman, 10AE Registere & Heritage vehicles with limited modifications. Refer below for full details d MX-5s Class 5 Super Clubman class. Mazda MX-5 NA & NB vehicles including Clubman, 10AE & Heritage vehicles with limited modifications. Refer below for full details Class 6 Modified Road Registered Normally Aspirated Mazda MX-5 s NAs & NBs only with a maximum 100KW at rear wheels Class 7 Modified Road Registered Normally Aspirated Mazda MX-5 s NC or ND with limited modifications with a maximum 110KW at the rear wheels Class 8 Turbo/Supercharged Road Registered Mazda MX-5 s excluding standard SE s Class 2. Maximum KW not to exceed 140 at the rear wheels Race Cars Class 9 Non Road Registered Normally Aspirated MX-5 s. Class 5, 6 or 7 cars that exceed the specified KW readings/modifications, running on treaded tyres. Class 10 All turbo/supercharged MX-5 racecars or cars that exceed the Class 8 limitations and all MX-5 members running on slicks, irrespective of vehicle. Non MX-5s Class 11 Non MX-5 Vehicles entered by an MX-5 Club Member running on treaded road tyres Visitors Class 12 All visitors irrespective of vehicle Note: Class 1: Refer the list of allowable modifications in Class 4 for modifications that can be used by standard NA6As (2 modifications) and NA8 (1 Modification). Class 4 & 5: These classes are for road registered NA and NB series MX-5s with limited Modifications. This includes Clubman and 10AE editions. All running on road tyres. The number of modifications allowed from the list is: MX-5 Type Class 4 Class 5 NA6 4 7 NA8 (except Clubman) 3 6 NA8 Clubman 1 4 NB (except 10AE & Heritage) 2 5 NB 10AE & Heritage Nil 3 Allowable modifications for classes 4 & 5: Intake prior to throttle body. Engine Management System available to NA models only. Aerodynamics/Bodywork. Anti Sway Bars Cat-Back Exhaust. Extractors & Cat-Converter (note a full exhaust system counts as two modifications) Springs Shock absorbers( including Clubman & 10 AE) (Note; coilovers with matching springs count as two modifications) Limited Slip Differential - 3 -

Scrutineering Requirements a) All road registered cars competing must be roadworthy. Fire extinguishers, although not mandatory are recommended. Blue Triangle, 150mm on each side mounted to indicate the battery location. b) Non road registered cars should be in a condition suitable to be driven on the track. They should have a fire extinguisher, a blue triangle (for battery) and two bonnet fastenings Note: Competitors are reminded that the possession and use of Halon/BCF fire extinguishers other than when specific approval has been given by the E.P.A. is prohibited. c) All loose objects must be removed from the vehicle. d) Seat belts must be fitted to the vehicle and must comply with the current Australian Standards. e) Competition numbers (2) can be supplied by the club (Nos. 1-60 only) and are to be positioned on each side of the vehicle. Numbers supplied by the Club are to be returned to the base of the control tower at the end of the day. Failure to do so will incur a charge at cost of $50.00. Drivers wishing to provide their own numbers may do so indicating their intention and preferred numbers on the entry form. The 2 numbers are to be clearly visible from at least 200 metres. f) Competitors and their vehicles must be presented in a clean and tidy manner. 14. Noise Maximum Noise Limit: 90 dba at 30 metres Any car found to exceed the maximum noise emission limit will be suspended from the event until the Chief Scrutineer / Clerk of Course is satisfied that action has been taken to bring it within the limit. Any vehicle that exceeds the limit on two runs will be excluded from the remainder of the event. If a vehicle exceeds the noise limit on any lap or laps within a run then only those laps in which the vehicle conformed to the requirements will be allowed for the purpose of the results. 15. Pre-Event Scrutineering at the Circuit Start Time: 7:30 am Finish Time: 8:30 am Scrutineering & Registration will be conducted in the Scrutineering Bay. After completing final entry formalities place your scrutineering sheet under a windscreen wiper, raise your bonnet and stay near your vehicle. Drivers must be present when the car is scrutineered so that their driving apparel can be checked. Scrutineering will be closed during the drivers briefing. If required it will reopen after the drivers briefing at the direction of the Clerk of Course. 16. Drivers Briefing a) It is compulsory for ALL drivers to attend the Drivers Briefing. Scrutineering will cease whilst the Drivers Briefing is in progress. Briefing will be held in the Café. b) A Drivers and Officials Sign On Sheet must be completed and signed by all. Failure to sign on will result in a competitor not being allowed to compete. The Club will retain these sheets for any incident or accident reporting. 17. Event Schedule Start Time: 9:00 am Finish Time: 4:00 pm 18. Timing Equipment and Accuracy Each lap will be timed by a computer, triggered by a transponder on the vehicle as it passes the timing point. A transponder will be supplied to each driver along with details on how it should be attached to their car. For dual-entered cars, each driver must ensure that only their transponder is attached to the car during a run. Times will be measured to an accuracy of 0.0001 seconds. Reruns will be at the discretion and direction of the Clerk of Course. - 4 -

19. Prizes/Awards/Trophies Trophies will be awarded to members of the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW Inc. only, based on performances recorded during a Competition Year, July to June. Driver Categories will be as follows: 1) Male 2) Female Trophies will be awarded for the above class/driver category. The Club reserves the right to combine class/driver categories if there are insufficient competitors in a particular class/driver category. Trophies will be awarded for the following: a) The fastest single lap b) An annual point score whereby points will be awarded at each event as follows 15 points for 1 st, 10 for 2 nd, 7 for 3 rd, 5 for 4 th, 4 for 5 th and 3 for 6 th, 2 for 7 th and 1 for 8 th. Results in all events will count towards the annual point score. Drivers must compete in a minimum of 2 events to qualify for this award. The Club reserves the right to add other awards at its discretion. 20. Authority of Officials Any driver not following a reasonable instruction by an official during the event will be referred to the Clerk of Course for action. The decision of the Clerk of Course will be final. 21. Medical Facilities Paramedical Services will be organised by Wakefield Park. 22. Insurance All competitors, pit crew, spectators and "signed on" officials at Wakefield Park are covered for Personal Accident Insurance as provided by Australian Auto-Sport Alliance Pty Ltd. 23. Postponement/Abandonment/Cancellation The Club reserves the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the event in accordance with the NCR's. 24. Alcohol No person may consume alcohol in any part of the Wakefield Park property. Any breach of this regulation invites the imposition of severe penalties. All drivers are required to have a BAC of 0% in accordance with NCR's. 25. Refreshment Facilities Available The circuit Café will open for refreshments from 8:00am. A lunch break of approx 30 minutes may be taken at approximately 12:30pm. Lunch and snacks can be purchased from the Café. 26. Speed Limit A speed limit of 10KPH will apply in the pits, paddock and spectator areas. A speed limit of 40KPH will apply to pit lane. 27. Additions and/or Alterations Any additions or alterations to these Supplementary Regulations will be notified to all drivers in Final Regulations or during the Drivers Briefing. - 5 -
