It is especially suited for handlg liquids such as alcohols, solvents, etc. PUMPING ELEMENTS Internal pumpg gears are constructed of type 6 and type 770 Staless alloy. This allows high speed, non-gallg operation, handlg all types of liquids up to 25,000 SSU (5,500 cst). PPS composite idlers are also available for th liquid applications. INTEGRAL RELIEF VALVE Permits bypassg of liquid from discharge to suction side of pump. Prevents build up of pressure discharge le. GG, HJ and HL size valve mounts on pump head. AS, AK and AL size valve mounts on pump casg. 2 GPM 0--0-5-50-75 (m³/hr 2-4.5-7-8--7) (Nomal Ratg) Vikg s heavy-duty Series 497 pumps are available capacities of 0,, 0, 5, 50 and 75 GPM. All are built for high-speed handlg of th liquids requirg staless steel construction. These pumps are ideal for such liquids as solvents, alcohols and similar liquids. The three smaller size pumps can be furnished directly connected to either or RPM motors. The three larger sizes are directly connected to RPM motors. (See Series 497D units shown on page 64..) All six sizes of Vikg Series 497 pumps are furnished with sgle mechanical seals. This seal is a simple self-adjustg, non-leak method of shaft sealg located ahead of the casg ball bearg. The Series 497 pumps are built for con tuous or termittent duty for such applications as filterg, circulatg, transferrg or booster service chemical, general dustrial, petroleum and petrochemical uses. The pump is connected by a flexible couplg with guard directly to a or RPM motor. Both pump and motor mount on a sturdy formed steel base. Vikg s three large size Series 497D direct-connected units all feature the Series 497 high-speed pump connected by a flexi ble couplg with guard to RPM motor.
