} Oklahoma Highway Patrol Chief allowed the selec@on of Impaired Driving Liaisons (IDL). } IDL Posi@ons open to all OHP Troopers statewide. All had a history of high impaired driving enforcement, Three (3) were cer@fied DREs, Two (2) are scheduled to asend DRE training within the year, and Each displayed proficient liaison skills.

} Within the first 2 months of the program, a municipal agency that believed that they did not have an impaired driving issue asked their IDL to coordinate an Impaired Driving emphasis within their City. 51 Impaired Driving arrests over the span of two (2) nights Sobriety checkpoint and satura@on patrol 30 officers from 5 different agencies ENDUI was invited back to the that City during the same event the following year. The results from that event were 86 Impaired Driving arrests over a 3-night period.
} OHSO purchased four (4) vans to assist the IDLs and other law enforcement agencies while conduc@ng Sobriety Checkpoints. } Each van is equipped with: Intoxilyzer 8000 Passive Alcohol Sensors Portable breath tes@ng devices 2 mobile kiosks Safety vests Checkpoint signage } Wrapped in the ENDUI logo

} Each IDL asended an eight (8) hour class on Sobriety Checkpoints (SCs). How to lawfully establish a SC Supreme Courts rulings and decisions regarding SCs The Oklahoma Highways Patrol s department policy regarding SCs Opera@ons orders and their elements } The IDLs observed a SC in Oklahoma City that was conducted by the Oklahoma County Sheriffs Office. } Within 60 days of being assigned as an IDL, 7 successful SCs conducted by the IDLs involving mul@ple agencies within their respec@ve regions.

} The ENDUI Teams iden@fy the checkpoint loca@ons in three (3) ways: } 1. Data Driven OHSO Data Analyst iden@fied the three (3) coun@es within each IDL region that had the highest incidence of impaired driving related KAB motor vehicle collisions } 2. Event Driven IDL's iden@fy special events in their region (e.g. fes@vals, fairs, etc.) } 3. Upon request by a law enforcement agency Local, County, State, Tribal, University
