Assembly/Operation Note: The Solar Light Set will need to charge for at least 6 hours before using it for the first time. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Turn power switch under edge of Cover (1) to OFF position. Remove the Cover (1) on top of Fixture (4) by rotating it until it can be lifted freely off the unit. There is a battery compartment on each side of the Cover (1). Open battery compartments and insert batteries, observing correct battery polarity. The Solar Light is powered by two rechargeable Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh batteries. Do not use regular AA Batteries. Batteries in Battery Compartments (shown with compartment covers removed) During the day, the Solar Panel converts sunlight into electricity, recharging the batteries. The amount of light the Solar Panel receives depends on placement of the Solar Light Set, geographic location and weather. If the weather is cloudy and the panel did not receive a full charge, the Solar Light Set may not achieve the full eight hours of operating time. It will catch up on its own after two to three days of full sun. Once the batteries are in the Cover (1), replace Cover on top of the Fixture (4). Insert Ground Stake (3) firmly into bottom of the Fixture. Decide where you want to place the Solar Light Set. Choose a location that receives direct sunlight for a minimum of six hours a day. The location should not be near night time light sources, such as porch lights or streetlights, as this may trigger the lights to turn off or flicker. Before inserting the Solar Light into the ground, choose an area where there are no underground pipes, cables or other obstructions. The ground must be dry yet soft enough to accept the Ground Stake (3). Gently insert the Solar Light into the ground. Insert the Ground Stake (3) completely into the ground to assure full stability for the Solar Light. When illumination is desired, turn the power switch underneath edge of Cover, to ON position. Note: It is recommended that the batteries in the Solar Light be replaced every 12 months. Maintenance Clean regularly with a damp towel. Do not use any type of solvent for cleaning. Do not put too much pressure on the light or components while cleaning. Dry thoroughly. Page 4
