Heavy-duty rear axles with castiron housings. Oil filter, drain plugs and brake chambers are placed in well-protected positions. Both rear axles are equipped with shock absorbers, improving traction as well as comfort. In addition, the increased track width and lower bogie height make tipping both safer and more stable. Another safety feature, also affecting uptime and productivity, is the yellow wheel nut indicators showing when a wheel nut needs re-tightening. Every vehicle has to undergo service and maintenance, but it is important that time in the workshop is as short as possible. This focus is evident in every detail, such as improving access to grease points. The Scania heavy tipper has reinforced front axles with excellent ground clearance. Keeping track of vehicle condition is crucial. The engine hour meter in the cab is clearly readable from the outside via the driver s door. Scania Opticruise provides accurate and smooth automated gear changing for reduced driver fatigue and improved productivity. To avoid damage caused by abrasive dust on the windscreen, the wipers stop in vertical position when not in use.
