2 Solar Panel Installation 1. Sol-Ark 8K has 2 separate pairs of solar panel inputs. 2. Use the chart to the right to determine how many strings of panels and how many panels per string can be installed. 3. Never exceed the Max PV input: 10,000W per system (5,000W per MPPT) PV = 500Voc Max 4. Connect the stings of solar panels to the system as shown on page 4. 5. Each pair of strings, PV1A/B and PV2A/B, must be the same voltage if both are used (see chart). A GFI receptacle can be installed on circuit after transfer switch. Mount Sol-Ark Find a suitable location for the system, keeping in mind the dimensions shown here. You may need to affx a mounting board to your wall first using 6-8 screws into studs. Then using 6 screws 17.87 apart mount Sol-Ark 8K to the board/wall 6 minimum clearance 6 17.87 Connect Batteries (w/ Cables & Boot Covers) Do not Reverse Polarity of Batteries

6 Upgrade to Sol-Ark 8K from Sol-Ark 3K Overview This is a general overview for the process of upgrading to a Sol-Ark 8K from the Sol-Ark 3K. More specific instructions will follow as the release date of the new unit approaches. When you decide to upgrade your system you will need to send us your current Sol-Ark unit, for which we will credit you the amount the you paid for your unit and apply it towards the price of the new Sol-Ark 8K. You will be able to keep and use your current batteries and solar panels as they are compatible with Sol-Ark 8K. Example: Purchased original Sol-Ark with EMP hardening for $4900 and want to swap it out for an EMP hardened Sol-Ark 8K which costs $7200. You would send us your current system and we would put the $4900 towards the Sol-Ark 8K. The price you would pay for the upgrade would be $2300 ($7,200 - $4900 = $2300). So the total cost of upgrade in this example would be $2300 plus shipping. Shipping in most cases will be about $100 to ship the old system to us (includes the packaging cost) and then about $200 for us to send you the new unit. Shipping will be added to your invoice and then we will send you a pre-paid shipping label. If you would like to add additional solar panels, batteries, wire, transfer switch(s), etc.. to your upgrade order, we will adjust your total cost accordingly. How to upgrade to Sol-Ark 8K from Sol-Ark 3K Power down Sol-Ark 3K Unplug Sol-Ark from grid and transfer switch Disconnect the batteries from Sol-Ark 3K but leave them wired to 48V (unless you are upgrading to more than 16 batteries) If you are upgrading to more than 16 batteries you will need to change some of your battery cables (let us know when you order) Remove Sol-Ark 3K Rewire your solar panels in accordance with page 2. Install 2-pole 50A breaker in your breaker box (these will replace the 30A outlet as the grid input) Install Sol-Ark 8K (refer to diagram on page 4) More detailed Sol-Ark 8K install guide is coming soon
