WHITNY Integrated Hydraulic rowning System WHITNY Integrated Hydraulic rowning System election is a reaction to the force that occurs during the bending process on any press brake. This delection must be accounted for to prevent a bowing and inconsistent bend angle of your part. Listed below are a few solutions that are designed to combat this action. Adding height and/or thickness to the bed design. (Requires a change to machine bed design) Shimming (Requires the operator to make a guess prior to bending) Mechanical crowning (Requires the operator to make a guess prior to bending) Integrated Hydraulic rowning System (Whitney Precision Press rake Method) Whitney 3 Piece ed esign ed with No Load The integrated N ed rowning System utilizes a 3-piece bed design with hydraulic cylinders mounted in the bed. The cylinders are used to counteract the bending force to keep the die rail and bottom die lat during the bending process. 4

The rowning cylinders receive a portion or percentage of the required force to form the part. The greater the actual forming force is, the more pressure that is shared with the crowning cylinders. elem lectro-hydraulic ontrol The elem ontroller calculates the amount of delection that will be realized based on the programmed thickness, material type and also the tools that have been selected. When using the bend correction function in the control you can input the achieved angle on the left side, right side and the middle. The elem ontroller will then correct the Y1 and Y2 positions as well as the delection setting automatically. 5
