SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS IMPORTANT: It is necessary that a parent or supervising adult be present to go over this list with the rider. Keep your body, including your hands, fingers and feet away from all moving parts while the WRFF IT is in motion. Some of these parts include: Chain, Chain Ring, Tires, Wheels, Steering Linkage (including Tie Rods and Stub Axle), Brakes and Brake Cables. Do not attempt to dislodge, twist, or unalign any moving components as you could be injured. Dislodging, twisting, or unaligning any moving components could result in damage to the WRFF IT. Many states require specific safety devices. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the laws of the state where you ride and to comply with all applicable laws, including properly equipping yourself and your bike as the law requires. Always wear a proper bicycle helmet when riding your WRFF. Always keep the chin strap securely buckled. Failure to wear an approved helmet may result in serious injury or death. Always wear proper safety equipment. A helmet, long sleeve shirt, long pants, shoes, and elbow and knee pads are mandatory. Gloves and eye protection also make good sense. Always wear clothing suitable for your WRFF IT. Don t wear extremely loose clothing which could hang and get caught in the wheels of your WRFF IT. Make sure the WRFF IT Handlebars and Lean Pad height are adjusted properly to fit the rider. WARNING: It is important that the rider of the WRFF be in a comfortable and safe riding position. To build confidence and fully enjoy the WRFF experience, a new rider should start slowly and carefully. Getting comfortable may involve just getting used to the WRFF feeling or making minor adjustments in the height of the Handlebar or Lean Pad Post. Either way, treat your WRFF with respect and you will have the ride of your life! If the Lean Pad Post projects from the Frameset beyond the MINIMUM insertion or MAXIMUM extension mark, the Post may break, which could cause the rider to lose control, crash, and/or fall. Do not allow or encourage any child rider to engage in any activity which is not suitable for or exceeds the child s riding ability and skill level. Children should practice new riding skills in a safe controlled environment while wearing all appropriate safety equipment. 1 If you have any doubt about the condition of the WRFF IT or any of its parts, take it to a qualified bicycle repair person immediately for a thorough check, repair or adjustment if necessary. Wet weather impairs traction, braking and visibility, both for the rider and for other vehicles sharing the road. The risk of accident is dramatically increased in wet conditions. In wet weather it is recommended that braking distance be increased. Braking distances are increased when riding while standing on the Surf Deck. Riding at dawn, at dusk, at night or at other times of poor visibility without reflectors is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Use a working headlight and a tail light when you ride at night. Also, wear light, bright, and reflective clothing, especially at night, to make yourself more visible. IMPORTANT: Some state or local laws may require additional safety equipment such as a horn, bell, or lights if the WRFF is used after dark. Do not remove Reflectors or Reflector Mounting Brackets from your WRFF IT. They are an integral part of the WRFF IT safety system. WARNING: Removing the Reflectors may reduce visibility to others using the roadway. Being struck by other vehicles often results in serious injury or death. IMPORTANT: Reflectors are not a substitute for lights. Always equip your WRFF with all state and locally mandated lights. Riding with improperly adjusted and secured Brakes or worn Brake Pads is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Check regularly. Riding with an improperly installed or insufficiently tightened Wheel can cause the Wheel to wobble or disengage from the WRFF IT, which can cause damage to the WRFF IT and serious injury or death. Grip Light Modules and their Covers should be properly installed into the Hand Grips at all times, as they offer protection against the edges of the Hand Grips. Riding without properly installed Hand Grip Light Covers can cut the rider s hands and body and can cause serious injury in an otherwise minor accident.

OPERATING & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Adult assembly is required. 2. Adult supervision is required during the first ride, or until the child demonstrates competence. 3. The WRFF IT should only be used by persons age 10 years and older. 4. The WRFF IT maximum weight capacity is 150 lbs. Using the WRFF IT by any rider exceeding the 150 lb. weight limit could create unsafe and dangerous riding conditions. 5. Do not allow a child to ride without an approved helmet, or without the chinstrap securely fastened. 6. Do not allow a child to ride without knee pads, elbow guards, and appropriate gloves. 7. Do not allow a child to ride wearing anything that obstructs visibility or hearing. 8. Do not allow a child to ride without shoes. 9. Caution should be taken when riding the WRFF IT at dusk, at night or at times of limited visibility. 10. Do not allow a child to ride on roadways or alleys. 11. Do not allow a child to ride on steeply sloped driveways, sloped areas, or hills. 12. Do not allow a child to ride near or over steps. 13. Do not allow a child to ride near swimming pools, swimming pool areas, or any other body of water. 14. The WRFF IT is for use on smooth paved surfaces only. 15. Never ride with more than 1 person at a time. The WRFF IT is not designed to carry any passengers. 16. Check the WRFF IT before each ride. Make sure the Wheels are straight; Tires are inflated properly; Brakes are in proper working condition. Make any adjustments if necessary. 17. Be sure the rider keeps both hands on the Handlebars for proper control. 18. The WRFF IT is designed for recreational use only. 19. WARNING: THE WRFF IT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR OFF-ROAD USE OR FOR STUNTING. If you have any questions regarding the operation of this product, please refer to this Use & Safety Guide or CALL 1 (800) 934-7455. 2

BEFORE THE FIRST RIDE: INITIAL ADJUSTMENTS IMPORTANT: Now that your WRFF IT is fully assembled, some adjustments are necessary. 1. Minor Brake Adjustment: Hand Grip With one hand holding the Adjusting Barrel, loosen Adjusting Barrel locknut of Brake Hand Lever with the other hand. Adjusting Barrel Brake Caliper Adjustment If one of the Brake Pad rubs on the Wheel Rim of the Rear Tire, but the other does not, you may need to balance the Brake Calipers by adjusting either one or both of the Tensioner Spring, located on each of the Calipers. Turn the Tensioner Screw clockwise to move the Brake Pad away from the Wheel Rim on that side of the Wheel, and move the opposite side Brake Pad closer to the Wheel Rim. Turning the screw counterclockwise does the opposite. Do not set the tension too high. Depress the Brake Lever several times during this procedure to check the adjustment progress. After adjusting the Tensioner Springs, recheck the overall Brake adjustment and adjust the Brake Hand Lever Adjusting Barrel as required. Apply Brakes 20 to 25 times and recheck adjustment. Brake Pad Brake Caliper Adjusting Barrel Locknut Turn Adjusting Barrel clockwise (viewed from Cable exit end) if Brake Pads are rubbing against the Wheel Rim. Turn Adjusting Barrel counterclockwise if Pads are too far away from Wheel Rim (Brake Lever contacts Handlebar before full braking force can be applied). When properly adjusted, Brake Pads should be approximately 1/32 to 1/16 away from the Wheel Rim. The Barrel and Brake Lever housing should remain engaged. Check to make sure you have not adjusted the Barrel too far out of the Brake Lever housing. With one hand holding the Barrel, tighten the locknut securely with your other hand. 8 Tensioner Screw

2. Reflectors The WRFF IT comes with 5 Safety Reflectors: 1 - Handlebar Reflector (P/N 80064) 1 - Lean Pad Reflector (P/N 80065) 1 - Rear Wheel Reflector (P/N 80066) 2 - Pedal Reflectors: mounted on Pedals, not sold separately (P/N 80054) Check Reflector alignment on Handlebars. It should point within 5 degrees of vertical and horizontal. WARNING: NEVER REMOVE THE REFLECTORS THAT COME INSTALLED ON YOUR WRFF IT. 3. Tires ALWAYS USE A BICYCLE PUMP to add air to your WRFF IT Tires. Front Tire pressure should be 15 psi.. Rear Tire pressure should be 35 psi. The correct Tire pressure is printed on the side of each Tire. Use a pressure gauge to check pressure. It is normal for Tires to lose air pressure over time. Always check all 3 WRFF IT Tires before every ride. WARNING: NEVER OVER-INFLATE YOUR TIRES. NEVER USED COMPRESSED AIR FROM A GAS STATION OR OTHER SOURCE. 9 4. Chain Standing alongside your WRFF IT, check Chain tension by carefully pedaling backwards by hand. WARNING: KEEP HANDS OUT OF CHAIN/ SPROCKET AREAS. There should be no places where the Chain becomes difficult to move. It should not be so loose that the Chain sags and rubs on any other components. If Chain adjustment becomes necessary, take it to a qualified bicycle repair person immediately for a thorough check, repair or adjustment.

BEFORE EVERY RIDE: SAFETY CHECKLIST General cycling can be a potentially hazardous activity. Proper inspection and maintenance of your WRFF IT is your responsibility. We strongly recommend that you follow this Safety Checklist to insure that using your WRFF is a safe experience. IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of a parent or supervising adult to be present to go over this SAFETY CHECKLIST with the child/rider BEFORE EVERY RIDE. CAUTION: Before riding, check to make sure Pedals are securely attached, align the Handlebars correctly with the forks, adjust the Lean Pad height, and tighten in accordance with instructions in this Use & Safety Guide. The rider must be familiar with and observe the WRFF Rules of the Road listed on page 11 in this manual. Make sure the WRFF IT fits the rider properly. Make sure the rider is familiar with all parts and workings of the WRFF IT. Make sure the WRFF IT is in proper working condition. Check that the Wheels, Rear Fender and Handlebars are straight and properly aligned. Check the tightness of the Steering Clamp Bolts. Twist the Handlebars and watch carefully to ensure that the Handlebar Upright Stem and Handlebar Top Stem cannot be twisted or moved by hand. Inspect each Clamp Bolt regularly and tighten if necessary. Check to make sure the Lean Pad is tight and in position. Twist the Lean Pad and watch carefully to ensure that the Lean Pad Post cannot be twisted or moved by hand. Inspect each Clamp Bolt regularly and tighten if necessary. Check for Brake Pad wear. Check Brake operation. Check Tire pressure (printed on the outside of each Tire) with a tire pressure gauge. Use a bicycle pump to inflate Tires if necessary. DURING EVERY RIDE IMPORTANT: It is necessary that a parent or supervising adult be present to go over this list with the rider before EVERY ride. ALL RIDERS MUST wear a bicycle safety helmet and appropriate safety gear. ALL RIDERS MUST know and observe local bicycle riding laws. ALL RIDERS MUST use safe riding practices. ALL RIDERS MUST watch the road. ALL RIDERS MUST use the brakes carefully. ALL RIDERS MUST watch any parked cars to make sure they are unoccupied and are not moving. ALL RIDERS MUST ride defensively. WARNING: The rider must always watch for hazardous situations and be ready to stop or take evasive action. WARNING: Do not submerge any bearings of the WRFF IT in water an any other liquid. If this happens, take your WRFF IT immediately to the dealer for service. 10

WRFF RULES OF THE ROAD We urge you and your child to take time to familiarize yourselves with the rules of the road in your local community. IMPORTANT: Some state or local laws may require additional safety equipment such as a horn, bell, or lights if the WRFF is used after dark. The rider must read and/or understand all parts of this Use & Safety Guide. No riding or standing on any roads or streets. If riding at night, make sure Lighted Hand Grips are in working order. Make sure Reflectors are properly aligned. Use a working headlight and a tail light when you ride at night. Also, wear light, bright, and reflective clothing, especially at night, to make yourself more visible. STOP, LOOK and LISTEN when crossing a driveway, alley or parking lot and before entering the public right of way. STOP for all stop signs and USE CAUTION when approaching intersections. Use hand signals to communicate intentions to turn, slow down or stop. ALWAYS BE ALERT. Remember that pedestrians have the right of way and that parked cars may be opening their doors. Never carry any passengers on your WRFF IT. This is designed for one (1) person only. Never hitch your WRFF IT onto a moving vehicle for a ride. Always wear a cycling helmet (Snell, ANSI, or ASTM) which meets the latest safety standards. Always wear shoes that will stay on your feet and will grip the Pedals. NEVER RIDE BAREFOOT OR WHILE WEARING SANDALS. Wear bright visible clothing that is not so loose that it can catch on moving parts of the bicycle or be snagged by objects a the side of the road or trail. Never carry anything that obstructs your vision or hinders your ability to safely operate your WRFF IT. 11

1. Never modify your frameset or components in any way, including sanding, drilling, filing, removing redundant retention devices from forks, or by any other technique. Such modifications will void your warranty, may cause your frame to fail, and may contribute to loss of control resulting in personal injury. 2. Many bicycle service and repair tasks require special training, skill, knowledge and tools. Do not make any adjustments or service your WRFF IT unless you know that you can properly complete them. Improper adjustments or service may result in damage to the bicycle or in an accident which can cause serious injury or death. 3. Regularly inspect your entire WRFF IT for signs of stress. Carefully inspect the Frameset and all components for signs of fatigue before and after each ride. Scratches, cracks, dents, deformation, or discoloration are signs of stresscaused fatigue which can alter the safety of your WRFF IT. 4. As with any mechanical device, every WRFF IT, and each part attached to it, has a limited useful life due to wear and stress. The length of that life varies according to its design, materials, maintenance, and use. 5. A crash can put extraordinary stress on a WRFF IT and its Frame and components, causing them to fatigue prematurely. Components suffering from stress fatigue can fail suddenly and catastrophically, causing loss of control, serious injury or death. If your WRFF IT is ever involved in a crash, minor or major, check carefully for stress or damage to your WRFF IT. USER MAINTENANCE LUBRICATION Lubrication is suggested monthly. (See Monthly Cleaning Section following.) 1. With spray lubricant, lubricate the Chain and the Rear Sprocket. WARNING: The use of light petroleum-base oil is recommended. Do not use a vegetable base oil to lubricate bicycle parts as this type of oil may dry and leave a harmful gum residue. 2. Lubricate Brake Lever Cable pivot points. Use extreme caution not to get oil on the Lever or Pads or Wheel Rim surfaces WARNING: Due to the complexity of the Rear Wheel section, we recommend the Rear Wheel Bearings be adjusted or lubricated by a qualified bicycle repair person. 12

MINOR BRAKE ADJUSTMENT Check for Brake Pad wear. Check Brake operation. WARNING: Riding with improperly adjusted and secured Brakes or worn Brake Pads is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. 1. It may become necessary to turn the Adjusting Barrel on the Brake Hand Lever to move the Brake Pads closer or further away from the Wheel Rim or to use the Tensioner Screws on each Caliper to adjust the Brake Pads to prevent uneven rubbing on one side of the Wheel Rim. For complete instructions and illustrations, please refer to BEFORE THE FIRST RIDE: Minor Brake Adjustment section of this Use & Safety Guide. IMPORTANT: Any major Brake adjustment requiring unclamping of the Cable should be performed by a qualified bicycle repair person. IMPORTANT: If major Brake adjustment becomes necessary, or if Brake Pads are worn, take the WRFF IT to a qualified bicycle repair person immediately for a thorough check, repair or adjustment. CHANGING BRAKE PADS WARNING: IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE YOUR WRFF IT BRAKE PADS REPLACED BY A COMPETENT ADULT OR QUALIFIED BICYCLE REPAIR PERSON. The WRFF IT comes equipped with a superior V- type Brake, commonly found on mountain bikes. 1. Loosen the socket head nut holding the Brake Pad to the Brake Caliper. Note the position of the 4 spherical washers on the Brake Pad stud and remove the nut, washers and Brake Pad from the Caliper. It may be necessary to turn the Adjusting Barrel on the Brake Hand Lever to allow more space between the Wheel Rim and the Brake Pad. 2. Remove the worn Brake Pad and replace with a new Brake Pad; assemble to the Caliper noting the position of the 4 washers. 3. With the Brake Pads, Washers and Nut in position on the Caliper, adjust the position of the Brake Pad on the Rim of the Tire. The Brake Pad should be centered on the Rim s braking surface; it should not directly contact the Tire (leave at least a 1/16 gap from the edge of the Brake Pad to the Rear Tire). Depress the Brake Hand Lever slightly to hold the Brake Pad into position against the Wheel Rim and snug the Brake Pad Nut by hand, being careful not to move the Brake Pad. Release the Brake Hand Lever, and with one hand hold the Brake Pad firmly to prevent any twisting or turning; wrench-tighten the nut to the proper torque with the other hand. 4. Apply Brakes 20 to 25 times and check. Adjust Brakes following the preceding section if necessary. 13

TIRE CARE 1. Proper inflation helps eliminates damage to Tires, Tubes, and Wheel Rims. 2. Proper inflation reduces the risk of serious injury 3. Periodically check Tires for wear and visible damage; cracks, dents, bent components or areas, etc. 4. Front Tire pressure should be 15 psi. Rear Tire pressure should be 35 psi. Check pressure of all 3 Tires (the correct Tire pressure is printed on the side of each Tire) with a tire pressure gauge before every ride to insure Tires are not flat or under-inflated. WARNING: Never ride a bicycle with flat or under- inflated tires. Doing so could ruin the tires and Tubes and damage the Wheel Rims. WARNING: IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE YOUR WRFF IT TIRES AND/OR INNER TUBES REPLACED BY A COMPETENT ADULT OR QUALIFIED BICYCLE REPAIR PERSON. IMPORTANT: Make sure Front Wheels and the Rear Wheel are centered in the Frameset, the Chain tension is set correctly, and the Axle Nuts are torqued correctly. CHANGING THE REAR TUBED TIRE The WRFF IT Rear Tubed Tire is identical to a standard bicycle tire. To remove the Rear Tire: 1. Loosen the Rear Axle Nuts, slide the Rear Wheel forward in the Frameset. Carefully slip the Chain off of the Rear Sprocket. With the Rear Wheel free from the Chain, slide the Rear Wheel to the back and out of the Frameset slots; remove the Rear Wheel. 2. Remove the Valve Stem Cap, depress the Valve Stem to release air. A hissing sound will be heard as the air is released. Make sure to let out all of the air. 3. Carefully pry the Rear Tire over the Rim of the Rear Wheel, one side at a time. CAUTION: When using tools, use special care not to pinch the Inner Tube, as you may puncture it. 4. Reassemble following disassembly instructions in reverse; the Inner Tube is laying within the inside of the Tire. Use caution to make sure that the Inner Tube does not get pinched; carefully pull the Tire over the side of the Rim, one side at a time. Inflate slowly, making certain that the Tire stays seated and centered on the Rear Wheel during inflation. 5. Make sure Rear Wheel bolts and Rear Axle Nut are torqued correctly. The recommended torque for the Rear Axle Nuts is 303in/lb (350kgf/cm). 14 CHANGING THE FRONT TUBED TIRES 1. Loosen and remove the bolt holding Front Wheel onto the axle. 2. Slide the Front Wheel off the axle to remove. 3. Loosen and remove the main bolts in the center of the Wheel and disassemble the Front Wheels into halves. 4. Remove the Valve Stem Cap, depress the Valve Stem to release air. A hissing sound will be heard as the air is released. Make sure to let out all of the air. Slip the Valve Stem through the hole in the outside Wheel Rim. With the 2 halves of the Front Wheels apart, the Tire and Tube are free and can be replaced. 5. Reassemble following disassembly instructions in reverse, making sure the Inner Tube is laying within the inside of the Tire. Use caution to make sure that the Inner Tube does not get pinched while assembling and inflating the Front Tires. 6. Make sure Front Wheel Bolts and Front Axle Bolts are torqued correctly. The recommended torque for the Front Axle Bolts is 95in/lb (110kgf/cm).
