Water and sewerage tariffs At Power and Water, we re working 24/7 so you can enjoy the Northern Territory lifestyle. It s a promise we make to each and every one of our customers every single day. We are responsible for electricity transmission and distribution and we provide water and sewerage services across the Northern Territory, an area of more than 1.3 million square kilometres. Our not-for-profit subsidiary, Indigenous Essential Services Pty Ltd (IES) supplies electricity generation and retail services to 72 remote communities. Retail electricity services are also provided to customers in Jabiru, Nhulunbuy and Alyangula. Water tariffs Power and Water s water tariffs are a total of: A charge for each kilolitre (1000 litres) used Rate Amount per kilolitre Domestic $1.9322 Commercial $1.9322 Government $2.0496 Standpipes^ $2.8566 Portable^ $2.4595 Plus a fixed daily charge based on the size of the meter or connection Connection Amount Up to 25 mm $0.8069 26 to 40 mm $2.0658 41 to 50 mm $3.2209 51 to 100 mm $13.0129 101 to 150 mm $29.0461 151 to 200 mm $51.6509 Above 200 mm proportional to meter size (poa) ^ No fixed daily charge applies to standpipes and portable meters. Sewerage tariffs Domestic A fixed annual charge of $813.86 applies to residential properties and vacant blocks able to be connected to the sewerage service. It applies whether the service is connected or not and regardless of the number of sanitary fittings in each residence. Sewerage tariffs Non-domestic For properties with none, one or two sanitary fittings, a fixed annual charge of $813.86 applies. Power tariffs Standard meter 25.67 cents per kilowatt hour plus fixed charge of 50.60 cents per day. Prepayment meter 28.22 cents per kilowatt hour including the fixed daily charge. Commercial Standard meter 29.87 cents per kilowatt hour plus fixed charge of 79.01 cents per day. Time of use meter (no minimum) 38.22 cents per kilowatt hour from 6am to 6pm and 21.51 cents per kilowatt hour from 6pm to 6am plus fixed charge of 79.01 cents per day. Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) Electricity rate 26.45 cents per kilowatt hour plus a fixed charge of 61.74 cents per day. Power service charges There are extra charges for some electricity services. Application of tariff rates The domestic tariff is applicable for premises intended to be used for residential purposes, excluding serviced apartments, but including: electricity used on vacant land zoned for residential purposes living premises of retirement villages (must be separately metered). The commercial tariff is applicable for premises intended to be used for non-residential purposes, including: electricity used on vacant land zoned for commercial purposes temporary supply (ie for building purposes) motels, hotels, service apartments and any form of temporary accommodation shops, offices, warehouses and industrial/ manufacturing plants mining enterprises farms.
