Packages The microscope is divided into 4 components for packing. Check that the following 4 packages are delivered. 1. COLUMN, (COLUMN,WEIGHT) 2. BASE,(BASE,FOOT SWITCH) 3. ARM (1ST ARM, 2ND ARM, FOCUSING UNIT) 4. MICROSCOPE If you have ordered an accessory with the microscope, it will be delivered in a separate package, so be sure to check that the separate package has been delivered. (Regarding the procedure for mounting accessories, except the XY translator and the Oblique Illuminator, see the instructions given in OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES on page 26 of the instruction manual.) ASSEMBLY Tools for assembly The base package includes 2 hexagonal wrenches. (It also includes the mounting bolt and washer to be used between the column and base.) (B) (A) (A): for mounting column and base. (B): for opening/closing 1st arm lower cover. For assembling, a Phillips screwdriver and a small slotted screwdriver are required in addition to the above tools. Assembling Assembling is done in the following order: 1 2 Base and column 3 Arm unit 4 Microscope Taking out the component from the package 2 ASSEMBLY
TAKING OUT THE COMPONENT FROM THE PACKAGE 1 Take off the band from the external box. Then, lift the external box and take out the 3 boxes. 2 Place each package on a level surface with the thin cushion facings upwards. Thin cushion Thick cushion Pull out the thin cushion first, and you will take out the package easily. 3 Two people must take out the base and arm units because of their weight. Put the unpacked components on a piece of corrugated cardboard, etc. so they will not be damaged. 3 ASSEMBLY
MOUNTING THE BASE AND COLUMN Caution Two or more people must handle the base unit. Its weight is approx. 50kg. If handled carelessly, you may be injured unexpectedly. 1 Put the thin cushion on the floor and put the base face down on it. 2 Align the bolt hole position and put the weight on the rear of base. Lift the weight by grasping the knob. 3 Insert bolts into the three holes on the circumference and set them loosely with a hexagonal wrench. Don t tighten the bolts fully. 4 Remove the protective sheet from the column end. Insert the column from the front of base and fit it into the hole positioned at the center of the rear of the base. Then, affix the column with the bolt. Tighten all the above bolts completely. 5 Raise the base unit on which the column has been mounted. 4 ASSEMBLY
