Using scissors, cut out the marked area from the template. TEMPLATE (without sunroof) MASKING TAPE Cut out areas. TEMPLATE REAR INTERIOR LIGHT Illustration of the i -VES Installed on the Vehicle MONITOR CONSOLE DVD PLAYER INSTALLATION AUDIO UNIT DIN CABLE A FM MODULATOR 5412010B Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. TEMPLATE SUNGLASSES HOLDER Align the template with the lines. FELT-TIP PEN 5412031B 5412020B 4. Position the template on the headliner and align the cutout with the rear interior light and the front sunglasses holder. Tape the template to the headliner using strips of masking tape. 5. 6. Using a utility knife, slowly and carefully cut out the marked area of the headliner, then cut out the insulator to expose the roof frame. 8. Remove the meter panel (two self-tapping screws and two clips). MARK METER PANEL UTILITY KNIFE Parts Removal CLIPS (7) (Cut out this area.) INSULATOR (Cut out to the same size as the opening) 5714100Y 7. Pry up on the seven clips, and remove the right side center console lower cover. RIGHT SIDE CENTER CONSOLE LOWER COVER CLIPS (2) SELF-TAPPING 9. Remove the meter sub panel (three clips). 10. Gently pull out on the left side of the audio panel to release the two clips, then pull out to release the remaining three clips. Unplug the vehicle connectors and remove the audio panel. 12. Remove the driver s and passenger s center console trim pieces (three clips each). Take care not to damage the clips. DRIVER S CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PASSENGER S CENTER CONSOLE TRIM AUDIO PANEL AUDIO UNIT AUDIO CLIPS (5) 5412051B 11. Remove the audio unit (four screws, pull the audio unit out toward you, unplug the vehicle connector and antenna lead). ANTENNA 13. Remove four self-tapping screws that fasten the center panel. CENTER PANEL SELF-TAPPING CLIPS (3) CLIPS (2) (Reuse.) AUDIO 5412060B 14. Pull the center panel out toward you to release the two clips. 15. Remove four screws that fasten the left and right vehicle brackets. Pull the heater control unit and pocket out toward you, and unplug the vehicle connectors. 17. Lower the glove box by removing the right and left stops. HEATER CONTROL UNIT LEFT Lower completely. POCKET RIGHT 16. Pry up on the two retaining tabs and three clips, and remove the right front door sill. CLIPS (3) RETAINING TABS (2) RIGHT DOOR SILL STOPS (2) GLOVE BOX 18. Remove the door weatherstrip from around the right rear door sill. Pry up on two retaining tabs and three clips, and remove the right rear door sill. 19. Remove the center pillar trim weatherstrip. Pull the center pillar lower trim out toward you to release three clips, and remove the trim. 22. Using a small rubber mallet, and a shop towel, gently tap the right quarter pillar trim 35 mm below the top edge to release the clip. CENTER PILLAR TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (Remove.) Release three retaining tabs that secure the center pillar upper anchor cover, and remove the anchor cover. Remove the center pillar upper trim by pulling it out toward you to release the retaining tab. RETAINING TAB 21. 24. Remove the lens from the roof console (four retaining tabs). 27. Remove the cover from the right sunvisor (four retaining tabs). ROOF CONSOLE RIGHT SUNVISOR COVER TORX RIGHT GRAB HANDLE 5412070B 28. Remove the right sunvisor (two Torx screws and unplug the connector). 29. Open the two covers and remove the right front grab handle (two bolts). COVER (Loosen.) BOLT (Remove.) 5719400Y 5412080B 26. Remove the roof console (unplug the connector). 30. 31. Pull away the door weatherstrip from around the right front piller trim. Using a small rubber mallet and a shop towel, gently tap the right quarter pillar trim at the area marked SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG to release the clip. 33. Remove the cover from the left sunvisor (four retaining tabs). RIGHT PILLAR TRIM RIGHT PILLAR RETAINING TABS (4) CLIP Strike. PIN COVER RUBBER MALLET CLIP LEFT SUN VISOR SHOP TOWEL DOOR WEATHERSTRIP PART MARKED WITH SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG 4N23033B 32. Remove the right front pillar trim (one clip). CLIP RIGHT PILLAR TRIM TORX 34. Remove the left sunvisor (two Torx screws and unplug the connector). 35. Remove the sunvisor holders by rotating them clockwise. 36. Remove the rear interior light. Remove the two lenses (four tabs for each lens). Remove the two self-tapping screws. Unplug the vehicle 3-pin connector. 3-PIN 39. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the area where the cushion tape will attach. Secure the interior light harness to the headliner with one cushion tape. CUSHION TAPE INTERIOR LIGHT REAR INTERIOR LIGHT TABS (4) INTERIOR LIGHT HARNESS FRAME LENS INSULATOR INTERIOR LIGHT HARNESS 3-PIN SELF-TAPPING S (2) INTERIOR LIGHT 4916111H 37. Route the interior light harness between the headliner and insulator through the headliner opening, then route the interior light harness out the headliner opening. 3-PIN DIN CABLE A TERMINAL INTERIOR LIGHT HARNESS 3-PIN S 250 mm 54212121B 40. Position the 3-pin connectors in the cavity in the headliner. 41. Route the DIN cable A over the insulator, and out through the opening in the headliner you made step 6. DIN CABLE A EPT SEALER Cut in half. 5412112B YELLOW LABEL 4913113H 38. 42. Using scissors, cut two cushion tapes in half. Secure the DIN cable A to the insulator with four pieces of cushion tape. 45. Route the DIN cable A down behind the dashboard and towards the glove box opening. CUSHION TAPES (2) Cut in half. 250 mm PASSENGER S A-PILLAR TRIM EPT SEALER Remaining half. HARNESS DIN CABLE A DIN CABLE A 5412130B 43. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the area where the cushion tape will attach. Secure the DIN cable A to the vehicle panel with one cushion tape. CUSHION TAPE CLIP WIRE TIE (2) PANEL WIRE TIE (Fasten securely) DIN CABLE A 5802010Y GLOVE BOX DIN CABLE A FRAME 5412141B 46. Wrap the remaining half of the EPT sealer around the DIN cable A in the position where it contacts the vehicle frame. 47. In the glove box opening, secure the DIN cable A to the vehicle panel with two wire ties. DIN CABLE A GLOVE BOX 44. Secure the DIN cable A to the vehicle harness with three wire ties. Routing the i-ves Harness and Installing the Monitor Console 48. Route the 20-pin connectors up from the center panel opening to the audio unit opening. 50. Connect the i-ves harness 20-pin connector to the vehicle 20-pin connector, and warp one EPT sealer around the connector. 20-PIN i-ves HARNESS 20-PIN 20-PIN AUDIO UNIT CENTER PANEL HARNESS INSTRUMENT PANEL i-ves HARNESS WIRE TIE DIN CABLE A Bundle up the excess. 5412160B 49. Bundle up the excess DIN cable A and secure it to the instrument panel using two wire ties. 20-PIN EPT SEALER i-ves HARNESS 51. Remove the cushion from the rear interior light opening as shown. 52. Cut a cushion tape into four equal parts. Attach one of the cushion tape parts to the display bracket. 54. Remove the left and right lens from the monitor console, then install the monitor gasket on the console while aligning the mark of the monitor gasket with the mark of the monitor console. CUSHION TAPE Cut into four equal parts. RIGHT LENS MONITOR CONSOLE LEFT LENS DISPLAY MONITOR GASKET 6 x 12 mm WASHER- BOLT REAR INTERIOR LIGHT 5412212B 53. Install the display bracket on the roof panel using four 6 x 12 mm washer-bolts. DISPLAY MARK MONITOR CONSOLE TERMINAL MONITOR CONSOLE 3-PIN DIN CABLE A TERMINAL 2326290T 55. Connect the interior light 3-pin connector and DIN cable A terminal into the monitor console 3-pin connector and monitor console terminal. 56. While holding the monitor console, secure the 3- pin connector and the terminal to the vehicle frame with one cushion tape. FRAME 3-PIN S CUSHION TAPE 58. Connect the sub feeder cord to the vehicle antenna connector. Using scissors cut one EPT sealer in half, warp 1/2 of EPT sealer around the antenna connector. EPT SEALER Cut in half. ANTENNA SUB FEEDER CORD MONITOR CONSOLE MONITOR 5 x 16 mm WASHER TERMINALS 5412181B 57. Position the monitor console on the monitor bracket and install two 5 x 16 mm washer-screws and two 5 x 25 mm washer-screws. Install two screw caps, then reinstall the left and right lens. Do not pinch the DIN cable A between the monitor console and monitor bracket. LEFT LENS MONITOR CONSOLE AIR CONDITIONER DUCT CAPS (2) RIGHT LENS 5 x 25 mm WASHER CENTER PANEL 5414011B 59. 60. Remove the left and right vehicle brackets (six self-tapping screws), separate the heater control unit from the pocket. Set the pocket and brackets aside, they will not be reused. 62. Cut a EPT sealer in half. Attach one piece of the EPT sealer to the DVD player. SELF- TAPPING (Reuse.) LEFT HEATER CONTROL UNIT SELF- TAPPING (Reuse.) DVD PLAYER SELF- TAPPING (Reuse.) SELF- TAPPING SELF- TAPPING (Reuse.) 5 x 12 mm WASHER POCKET RIGHT HEATER CONTROL UNIT DVD PLAYER DIN BEZEL SELF- TAPPING 61. Install the DIN bezel to the DVD player. Set the heater control unit on the DVD player, attach the left and right DVD player brackets using the two self-tapping screws removed in step 59 and four 5 x 12 mm washer-screws included in kit. LEFT DVD PLAYER RIGHT DVD PLAYER 5 x 12 mm WASHER 6 mm PLAIN WASHER FM MODULATOR EPT SEALER FM MODULATOR 5412230B 5608051P 63. DVD PLAYER A 5 x 10 mm WASHER- 66. Remove the two washer-screws from the dashboard. HEATER CONTROL UNIT DVD PLAYER B DIN CABLE A i-ves HARNESS 64. Install the FM modulator bracket on the DVD player bracket A using two 5 x 10 mm washerscrews. WASHER- S(2) DASHBOARD DVD PLAYER DVD PLAYER A SUB FEEDER CORD JACK TERMINAL FM MODULATOR JACK TERMINAL FM MODULATOR FM MODULATOR DVD PLAYER 5412240B 65. Connect the DIN cable B to the DVD player and FM modulator. 5412262B DIN CABLE B 67. Connect the i-ves harness connector and the DIN cable A. 68. Connect the sub feeder cord jack terminal and the FM modulator jack terminal. 69. Wrap two EPT sealers around the joint of the jack terminals that you connected in step 68. AIR CONDITIONER DUCT EPT SEALER JOINT EPT SEALER 5412251B 5414052B 70. 71. Connect the vehicle connector to the heater control unit. WASHER- (Reused.) DVD PLAYER HEATER CONTROL UNIT 74. Plug the i-ves harness 20-pin connector and sub feeder cord lead into the rear of the audio unit. Reinstall the audio unit with four screws removed in step 12. With Pocket: AUDIO UNIT (Reused.) WASHER- (Reused.) FM MODULATOR HARNESS 5414041B 72. Route the vehicle harness above the FM modulator as shown. Slide the heater control unit and DVD player into the center panel opening, and reinstall the four screws. 73. 75. Reinstall all removed parts. Torque the seat bolts to : 41 to 53 N m (30.3 to 39 ft lb) Torque the seat belt anchor bolts to : 29.4 to 34.3 N m (21.6 to 25.2 ft lb) 76. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 77. Enter the customer s radio anti-theft code, and reset the radio station presets. 78. Set the clock. 79. Check the operation of the in-vehicle entertainment system according to Owner s Manual supplied with the unit. 80. Put the in-vehicle entertainment system Owner s Manual in the glove box. NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver s window AUTO function is disabled. 81. Start the engine. Push down on the driver s window switch until the window is fully open. 82. Pull up on the driver s window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for a second two more. 83.
