Control Panel Installation 1. Install control panel ASM in dash by placing control panel bracket behind dash and securing to the 3 lever panel ASM using a 10-24 nylon locknut (See Figure 1, below). 2. Plug control panel wiring harness into control panel ASM and the ECU on evaporator as shown in Figure 2, below. 3. Wire according to wiring diagram on Pages 5 & 6. Trinary Switch: Connect According To Trinary Switch Wiring Diagram. Circuit Breaker/Battery: White Must Run To (-) Battery. Red May Run To (+) Battery Or Starter. Mount Circuit Breaker As Close to Battery As Possible. 6
Operation of Controls NOTE: On Gen IV systems with three lever/knob controls, the temperature control toggles between economy and modes. To activate, move the temperature lever all the way to and then back it off to the desired vent temperature. For economy/heat mode, move the temperature lever all the way to and then adjust to the desired vent temperature. The blower will momentarily change speed each time you toggle between modes to indicate the change. Mode Blower Speed Mode Lever Temperature Lever Blower Speed Adjust to desired speed. Mode Lever Slide the lever to the position. Temperature Lever In mode, slide the temperature lever all the way to the right to engage compressor (Slide lever left or right to adjust to desired temperature). Heat Mode Blower Speed Adjust to desired speed. Mode Lever Slide the lever to the FLOOR position. Defrost/ De-fog Mode Temperature Lever Slide the temperature lever all the way left to the position (Slide lever left or right to desired temperature). 7 Blower Speed Adjust to desired speed. Mode Lever Slide the lever to the position.
