Dual sensor IND type IND units combine two distinct inductive proximity sensors in a single, double insulated, IP 67 housing. One sensor provides a signal when the valve is open, the other when it is closed. The units are invaluable for confirming that power-operated Clearly visible position indicators: LEDs indicate current position and switching status as well as markings located on the target puck. Robust housing: IND type sensors incorporate two distinct inductive elements in a housing sealed to IP 67. The tough housing will also withstand impacts allowing their use in any application. Compatible with VDI / VDE 3845: All IND sensors are compatible with VDI / VDE 3845 guidelines meaning they are simple to fit to nearly any actuator. Connection opportunities: Versions with integrated AS-i chips allow simple addition to AS-i networks, M12 cabled versions and units with a terminal chamber mean that ifm s INDs are the simplest choice for valve control. Unit with terminal chamber: Two captive screws above the cable gland enable easy opening and closing of the terminal chamber. The wiring can be maintained if the sensor is replaced, thanks to the removable terminal block. As an option, a solenoid valve can be triggered. 4

Position feedback on quarter-turn actuators. and manual valves are in the appropriate position for correct and safe operation in all types of process plant. VDI / VDE 3845 is a guideline which defines, amongst other things, the mechanical mounting arrangements for fitting switch boxes to actuators. The IND units have been specifically designed to conform to and take advantage of this guideline, allowing them to be fitted to the majority of actuators with the minimum of effort. Continuous position feedback on rising stem valves quarter-turn actuators By using state-of-the-art production technologies it has become possible to incorporate the latest AS-i technology with sensors and switching outputs in a space-saving housing. All these features facilitate mounting, set-up and maintenance for the user and increase uptime of the whole AS-Interface system. Many accessories are available including target pucks for most valve actuators. Feedback system efector valvis IX type AS-i integrated: AS-Interface from ifm is the ideal way to communicate feedback from multiple valves and is incorporated, as standard, in the efector valvis. Requirement: Everywhere in the food industry valves are used for shutting off, monitoring and controlling. They are decisive components for the safety, accuracy and reliability of plants. Implementation: Conventionally, magnetic or inductive proximity switches assume this task. They signal end stops such as open or closed to the controller by means of a switched signal. Freely programmable: With 3 switching outputs, the efector valvis gives reliable indication of the valve piston s position: open, closed or seat lift. Simple set up: Uncomplicated programming by pushing a button replaces mechanical adjustment to the respective valve positions. Adapters: Rising stem valves differ of course, so a range of adapters for many valve types, for example Alfa Laval, Südmo, GEMÜ and Georg Fischer, are available. Easy position setup due to freely programmable switching outputs. They transmit the actual limits of travel to the controller. 6

Continuous position feedback on single, double seat and diaphragm valves. However, the detection of intermediate positions is of increasing interest. It allows the detection of cleaning cycles for rising stem valves as well as the visualisation of unintended operating states by means of continuous valve detection. This is the only way to meet the growing requirements of modern process visualisation. quarter-turn actuators Continuous position feedback on rising stem valves With thanks to different adapters, efector valvis can be mounted on various valve types. In this case it is installed on an ON-OFF diaphragm valve. I.e. two switching points have to be set up. By missing the Seat position out, the sensor realises that only two switching points are needed. rising stem valves or inside switchboxes efector valvis was designed for feedback of the valve positions on rising stem valves with a stroke of up to 80 mm. The sensor is fitted over the valve spindle and continuously measures the stroke. This shows an installation on double seat valves, all three switching points are used. Safe connection: ecolink EVT the ideal connector for hygienic and wet areas: PVC cables and housings plus stainless steel coupling nuts provide protection to IP 69K. The common valve boxes can be used with the square-shaped sensors of type IS. Customer-specific versions such as platinum connectors facilitate installation.
