Pontiac-Oakland Club International Hello Pontiac Enthusists! President s Message Well here we go again! Fall is in the air and we had our first frost last week here in central Nebraska. I m sure all of you in the upper Midwest have experienced this, and possibly with with a little white stuff. PCPV C H A P T E R I am in the process of reorganizing and cleaning my shop. What a job! Scooted some of my cars closer together so I could get my 66 Starchief in. I plan on pulling the 389 and tranny out, hopefully before it gets to cold, only time will tell. I hope everyone enjoyed there summer and fall seasons and got those cars out and showed all our unique and different models to all. I was able to make it to one car show in Lincoln last month which was put on by POA (Pontiac Owners Association). Some really cool cars there. My cousin is a member of this group and they had their 75 Grand Am there. Everyone have a great fall and Happy Halloween! See Ya on the Road Less Traveled, Mike Leonard, PCPV President 2016 PCPV CHAPTER OFFICER NOMINATIONS Nominations are now open for PCPV Chapter officer positions. If you are interested in taking on a postion, please call or email Mike Leonard or Paul Bergstrom by 11/30/15. PCPV CHAPTER DUES If your chapter dues are due, we have enclosed a renewal form for you to use. We hope you are able to continue supporting the PCPV Chapter! Page 2

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR PCPV MEMBERS! Enjoy the new PCPV club decal. I had a few of these made up so that we can put them on our vehicles to help promote the chapter. If you need more decals, just let me know. Our new 96 Trans Sport on the right POCI Convention dash plaques in our 92 Trans Sport Page 3

Looking Out The Back Door The above photo is a graphic image that was painted on my 49 Sedan Delivery probably in the 1970s. It looked pretty cool on the side of the old panel truck. I recently sold the 49 in the hopes that a new owner could breathe some new life back into it. 2016 POCI Convention Isle Hotel & Casino Bettendorf, Iowa July 12-16 Visit www.poci.org for on-line registration, information on the planned activities, hotel availability and other updates- or call the the POCI Club Office at (877) 368-3454. Many of you have seen my 92 Trans Sport that we drive to the POCI conventions. Well, it got hit in the front by a redlight-runner recently. It was totally out, but we were lucky to find a very nice 96 Trans Sport to take it s place. I ll tell you more about that one in the next time. Until the next issue, Let s keep the Pontiac legacy alive... Paul Bergstrom, Editor PCPV CHAPTER OFFICER POSITIONS If you are interested in serving as an officer in the chapter, please contact PAUL BERGSTROM pontiacpaulb@gmail.com Due Date is 11/30/15 Page 4

1948 Hearse For Sale From: krklee <krklee@gmail.com> Subject: 48 Pontiac Hearse I work for a funeral home here in Sioux Falls, SD and we are parting with our 48 Pontiac Hearse. Rebuilt straight 8, new gen, older paint but runs drives and looks good. If you could pass the word I d appreciate it. Anyone interested can email me. Kirk Lee Recently on Craigslist... appears to have been sold? Page 6

Roper s Pontiac Pickup Hey Paul, here are some more photos of my Pontiac pickup. The truck was originally blue. I stripped it to bare metal and It is now in Black 2 pot undercoat. Durapox being the paint. At present I am steeling out the cab. I have installed a new GM engine transmission and differential to make it reliable. I have the front stub axels being machined to fit GM disc brakes front only. I mocked the truck back up after I painted it and have now torn it down again for repairs. I am not going to restore it as a new shiny truck just an everyday driver. I have banged out the dents but I am not going any further than that with the dents. The truck can wear the dents with pride. It had 4 or 5 small pieces of rust that I have cut out and welded in new steel. I have removed the wood from the doors and cowl and I am steeling those out in the next few months. I have the same problems as everyone else. I at times lack the time to work on it and the money. My grandson Elliot as usual was a great help and he is a lover of old cars. I recently rebuilt a 55 Chevrolet for my brother. It is a 383 powered 4 door right hand Canadian assembled car. It took 3 years and a lot of perseverance. It s done now but I am taking a rest from another big rebuild. For now anyway. Dave Roper, Whakatane, New Zealand Page 7

PCPV Potpourri Trans Sport on steroids! I found this photo on the internet, not sure what this vehicle is used for... cargo carrier or party limo? Think of the driveshaft(s) and frame rails that would be needed for that l-o-n-g wheelbase. I may do a feature on the Transvertible shown below, another Pontiac oddity that s for sure! Pontiac G8... station wagon... cool, eh? Page 10
