High capacity I Precision I Reliability The next step The machine with hybrid drive
Your benefit Ecology The idea Rising fuel prices, low work shift returns and high staff costs this is the reality many contractors have to face. Given this situation, we have set ourselves the following goal: we want to help our customers work more costefficiently, act flexibly, and strengthen the clean railway system. The solution we are offering is a new drive concept: it allows the machine to be powered either via a Diesel engine or via an electric motor using the electrical energy of the contact wire. This applies to both, travelling and working. In other words, our machine is cost-friendly as it reduces energy costs and logistics costs extends the range of applications in urban areas and tunnels benefits the procurement of awards thanks to eco bonus avoids eco penalties reduces maintenance costs of the drive Ecologic means that our machine is environmentally-friendly as it complies with stricter environmental protection requirements reduces pollutant emissions is sustainable thanks to the use of green traction current reduces the noise emitted Ergonomic means our machine offers higher comfort and is userfriendly due to reduced noise pollution higher working comfort thanks to reduced emissions and vibrations ergonomically optimised workplaces attractive workplace E³ technology 2
Technical solution 6 Braking resistor 5 Current collector 1 Electric motor 2 Diesel engine 3 Transformer 4 Power converter Drive System Concept The hybrid drive car is equipped with a diesel drive and an electric drive system. The machine is powered either via the electric motor [1] or via the diesel engine [2]. It is driven hydrostatically from the engine via a drive shaft to the pump distributor gear (pressure generation). To ensure ecological operation during standstill, a generator set with a separate diesel engine is mounted on the machine. It supplies the machine s on-board network with power when the electric motor and the diesel engine have been switched off and when the overhead line is not carrying electricity. The machine can travel through insulated sections, both during transfer or work, without the need to stop or interrupt the work sequence. Difference of potential in the overhead line, particularly occurring in station areas, are absorbed by the transformer [3] and the power converter [4]. Therefore, they present no challenge to the machine neither during transfer nor during work. The hybrid drive complies with stricter environmental protection requirements E³ technology 3
New electric brake system The hybrid drive system enables a braking effect to be achieved due to the torque of the electric motor. The electricity can be fed back to the grid via the current collector [5]. If feeding the grid is not possible, the energy can alternatively be reduced via a braking resistor [6] mounted on the roof. Benefits Less wear on the brakes = longer service life Electricity is fed back = lower energy costs New, modern and ergonomic cabin design The cabin was redesigned and ergonomically optimised together with the operators. The clearly arranged operating controls improve both operability and visibility. The hybrid drive reduces noise pollution Moreover, the touch screens of the modern control system offer a clearly laid-out operating concept. The main operating controls are clearly arranged in the armrests, thus enabling fast and intuitive operation. Benefits Higher comfort for the operator Simpler and faster operation = higher work output Improved visibility = higher quality The hybrid drive reduces operating resources costs top: 3D illustration of the front cabin of the 09-4X E³ Dynamic Tamping Express bottom left: Tamping operator s stand of the 09-4X E³ Dynamic Tamping Express bottom right: Operator s stand of the BDS 2000 E³ E³ technology 4
