www.lntmbda.com ATGM5 Fifth-generation, multi-target land combat weapon ATGM5: Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured (IDDM) In land combat and urban warfare, one of the main weapons contributing to the success of both, offensive and defensive operations, is the ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) system. However, existing generations of ATGMs are not best suited to deal with the latest developments of ever-more mobile and better-armoured vehicles. Current and earlier generations of ATGMs are also not ideally suited to deal with asymmetric threats such as snipers concealed behind a wall or terrorists launching a suicide attack with an explosive -laden 4x4 vehicle. A modern ATGM needs to be able to take out a range of targets, while offering a high level of launch flexibility including launch from man-portable firing posts, from wheeled or tracked infantry fighting vehicles (IFV), wheeled trucks and armoured personnel carriers (APC), tanks and air platforms such as helicopters. In complex scenarios, firing needs to be possible by using 3D target designation provided by a third-party or by the platform itself to ensure not only the highest precision, but also firing coordination with other deployed battlefield assets in a network- enabled battlefield environment.

The only fifth-generation land and urban combat ATGM weapon system in full series production The need for such a next-generation ATGM has been recognized by France, which is now taking delivery of MBDA's MMP fifth-generation ATGM weapon. Already qualified for dismounted firing post deployment in a wide range of operational theatres, from high mountain altitudes to desert conditions, MMP will be validated very shortly for the French Army's next generation infantry reconnaissance vehicle. In terms of its operational capability and unique range of features, MMP has placed a significant distance between itself and the fourth and third generation ATGMs currently in service or being marketed. Fifth-generation ATGM

ATGM5 - a true game changer Design, development and manufacture in India ATGM5 owes its unmatched capabilities to a range of disruptive, fifth-generation technologies: New generation passive dual-band seeker (colour TV and uncooled IR) New generation, multipurpose tandem warhead Smokeless propellant providing stealthy firing Maintenance-free missile (more than 10 years)

L&T MBDA Missile Systems Limited and the ATGM5 Programme MBDA, a world leader in missile systems, has joined with Larsen & Toubro, India's multinational engineering conglomerate and private sector defence major in February 2017 to set up a joint venture (JV) L&T MBDA Missile Systems Limited ( L&T MBDA ). The JV will support the Government of India's drive towards the indigenization of the defence sector under the Make in India initiative. Equally, the JV is determined to provide real opportunities for Indian industry across a wide spectrum of advanced technologies. L&T MBDA has a clear vision regarding the development and manufacture of ATGM5 in India, as this fifth-generation weapon or family of weapons matches the requirements and specifications of the Indian Armed Forces. ATGM5 will not only offer India's mounted and dismounted forces with the very best weapon in its class, it will also offer significant opportunities for the export market. Highest level of operational independence in the use of an ITAR-free missile Significant opportunities for the export market All the skills and new generation technologies that MBDA has developed for the French Army's MMP are being made available to allow India to design, develop and manufacture ATGM5. The JV is committed to ensuring that India will have the highest level of operational independence in the use of an ITAR-free missile.

L&T Partnering the Indian Armed Forces for over three decades MBDA and India a long history of industrial partnership Larsen & Toubro is one of India's leading companies for the supply of Defence Equipment and Systems in the private sector, with over three decades of partnership with the Indian Armed Forces and DRDO. The Company provides indigenous, design-to-delivery solutions across the defence spectrum, including a range of land-based weapon launch systems, air defence and artillery systems and upgrades, naval weapon launch systems with fire control solutions, bridging systems, communication, avionics, C4I and missile systems. MBDA, with nearly 70 years' experience in the ATGM sector (dating back to the SS.10), has established a long history of working in partnership with Indian industry regarding this class of weapon. This cooperation with a Defence Public Sector Undertaking, which has been in operation for nearly 50 years, has seen the production of well over 50,000 ATGM missiles in India.
