Water supply lines must be sized to provide an adequate volume of water for each fixture. Water pressure over 80 psi is not recommended with most plumbing fixtures Flush all water lines prior to operation. DO NOT use pipe sealant or plumbing grease on any coupling! Protect the chrome or special finish on the Bedpan Washer. DO NOT USE toothed tools on finished surfaces to install or service these valves. Also see Care and Cleaning section of this manual. INSTALL TAILPIECE and DOWN TUBE with VACUUM BREAKER; Fig. Fig.. Slide the COUPLING NUT () onto the TAIPIECE ( or a). Place SEAL WASHER () with the tapered side facing down into the COUPLING NUT ().. Thread and tighten COUPLING NUT () to DIVERTER ASSEMBLY ().. Slide COUPLING NUT (a) onto the DOWN TUBE (). Place SEAL WASHER (a) with the tapered side facing up into the COUPLING NUT (a).. INSTALL BEDPAN WASHER; Fig.. Install BEDPAN WASHER ASSEMBLY () into SPUD ASSEMBLY () on fixture. Push the ASSEMBLY () down until the TAILPIECE () seats on the internal stop. Do not fully tighted SPUD COUPLING NUT (). Fig.. TAILPIECE () may be cut to obtain the correct rough-in dimensions for flush valve. Fig. 6 FINISHED WALL A CENTER LINE OF FIXTURE SPUD. Measure the distance (A) from the finished wall to the center of the inlet spud on the fixture.. Cut the supply pipe -/" (A-B=C) shorter then the measurement taken in Step. File any rough edges off the end of the supply pipe. (A-B)= C FILE EDGES B mm (-/). Clean the end of the supply pipe. Push the threaded Adapter on until it is seated against the internal stop. Sweat the Adapter to the pipe. CLEAN ADAPTER INSTALL COVER TUBE, WALL ESCUTCHEON and SUPPLY STOP; Fig. 7 Fig. 7 Fig. 7a SOLDER ADAPTER X FINISHED WALL. Measure from finished wall to first thread of Adapter or threaded supply pipe (dimension X ). Cut COVER TUBE () to length (X). Apply Teflon Tape to the threaded end of the Adapter or supply pipe. Fig. 7a.. Push the COVER TUBE () into the WALL ESCUTCHEON (). Slide both onto the SUPPLY PIPE (). Fig. 7b.. Push the COVER TUBE () in, to expose the threads of the supply pipe. Fig. 7c. 6 INSTALL FLUSH VALVE; Fig. 8 & 8a. As shown in Fig. 8, insert the side INLET FLANGE () on the FLUSH VALVE () into the SUPPLY STOP (). Lubricate the INLET FLANGE O-RING () with water if necessary. Lightly tighten COUPLING NUT (). Fig. 8. Important: Do not use lubricants (other than water) or any type of thread sealing paste or tape. Fig. 8. Align the FLUSH VALVE () (Fig. 8a) directly above the DOWN TUBE (7) and VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6). Note: There is a mm, ( /) tolerance for the mm (-/) dimension. + + Fig. 8a.. Pull the DOWN TUBE (7) up to meet the threaded FLUSH VALVE CONNECTION (8) and hand tighten the VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6). Align all components of the flush valve assembly. Fig. 8a. Fig. 8a mm, + mm (-/)( + /). Lightly tighten the COUPLING NUT () connection first, then the VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6) and finally the SPUD COUPLING NUT (9). Fig. 8a. 8 6 7 7 INSTALL SUPPORT BRACE; Fig. 9 9. Determine required length of SUPPORT BRACE () by measuring the distance between finished wall and back of the DIVERTER VALVE () at support rod hole. Add /" (6mm) to the length determined and cut the SUPPORT ROD () to size.. Rotate the DIVERTER VALVE () to allow threading SUPPORT ROD () into back of diverter body. Slide wall SUPPORT ROD FLANGE () onto SUPPORT ROD () and rotate the DIVERTER VALVE () so that the wall SUPPORT ROD FLANGE () is flush with the wall. Fig. 9 X+/" (6mm) FINISHED WALL X+/" (6mm). Using the SUPPORT ROD FLANGE (), mark the two holes on the finished wall for the mounting screws and anchors. Rotate the DIVERTER VALVE () to the side and drill two /6" holes in the finished wall -/" deep.. Rotate the DIVERTER VALVE () and align the SUPPORT ROD FLANGE (). Secure the FLANGE with two Anchors and Screws (not provided). Tighten SET SCREW (). Once aligned correctly, use a wrench to tighten couplings to make water tight connections. 8 FLUSH OUT SUPPLY LINES; Fig. 0. Remove COVER () from SUPPLY STOP (). Make sure supply stop is closed. Fig. 0. Remove FLUSH VALVE CAP (). Pull out PISTON (). Replace FLUSH VALVE CAP () and tighten.. With a flat blade screwdriver open SUPPLY STOP (). to flush line of any debris or sediment.. Close SUPPLY STOP (). Remove FLUSH VALVE CAP (). Replace PISTON (). Replace FLUSH VALVE CAP () and tighten. COUNTER-CLOCKWISE OPENS CONTROL STOP REMOVE COVER CLOCKWISE CLOSES CONTROL STOP 9 ADJUST SUPPLY STOP; Fig. IMPORTANT: To avoid overflowing, the SUPPLY STOP () must never be opened to the point where the flow from the valve exceeds the flow capacity of the fixture. The fixture and drain must be able to handle a continuous flow in case of a flush valve failure. Valve is designed to provide stated flush volume with a GPM flow rate.. Remove COVER () from SUPPLY STOP ().Turn on water supply / turn to / turn(ccw) and test for leaks. Note: Unit may flush for approximately to 0 sec. when water is first turned on.. Actuate the FLUSH VALVE by pulling handle down.. Adjust SUPPLY STOP () after each flush until the stated flush volume is achieved, no splashing occurs and the fixture is properly cleansed.. When adjustment is complete, replace COVER () and tighten to ensure vandal-resistance. 0 LEFT OR RIGHT HAND INSTALLATION; Fig.. The FLUSH VALVE can be installed either as a right or left hand installation.. Orientate the FLUSH VALVE as shown in Fig. to desired position for a left or right hand installation.
