Push tube/ Swivel/ Blade Assembly Instructions. Install the blade swivel () onto the front of the push tube () using the /" shoulder bolt (), two /" washers (), and a /" Nylock nut () from the bolt bag per diagram #. Make sure the flat washers seat properly on the bottom of the shoulder bolt while tightening the nut. Verify the swivel turns freely.. Remove the bottom flanged nuts (G) from the u-bolt (C) and from the /" bolts (F) on the blade position pin assembly (). Run the top flanged nuts up the threads of the u-bolt. Place the blade position pin assembly on the push tube as shown in the diagram, sliding the blade position pin through one of the oval holes on the swivel and through the rear blade position pin support bracket on the push tube.. Re-install the u-bolt and /" bolts and flanged nuts per the diagram. On the u-bolt, thread the bottom nuts up until they are flush with the bottom of the threads then run the top ones down, making sure the bottom nuts remain flush with the bottom of the u-bolt. Tighten all bottom nuts.. Remove the two shoulder bolts () from the pivot point brackets on the back of the blade (). Attach the blade to the swivel by sliding the ears on each side of the swivel into the pivot point brackets on the blade, reinstall the two shoulder bolts and nylock nuts () and tighten.. Hook the blade springs () to the two round holes on either side of the oval holes on the swivel. Hook the eyebolts () through the other end of the springs, push the eyebolts through the spring attaching points on the back of the blade and install /" nylock nuts (). Spring tension may be increased by tightening both nylock nuts on the eyebolts evenly. A good starting point is threading the nuts down about.. Install the blade stops () with the two /" x " bolts () and /" nuts () per the diagram. Rotating the stops allows you to change the blade pitch to suit changing conditions. Item Part # Qty. RM Push Tube Operating Instructions. The RM is designed to be a drive-up quick connect plow system. This will require setting your kickstand height. The kickstand automatically extends and retracts as you open or close the handle. With the handle in the open position and the kickstand bolt down, you want to adjust the bolt until the push tube is slightly below the height of the bottom mount tabs on your machine. Loosen the lock nut on the kickstand bolt, turn the bolt in or out until you acheive the desired height for your machine, and tighten the lock nut.. The handle on the RM system is openend by pulling up in the same direction of the push tube then it can be pulled out to retract the pins and extend the kickstand. Make sure it opens fully to lock the kickstand in place. To close the handle, first pull up, then down into place. This will retract the kickstand and extend the end pins. It may take you a few times to understand how it operates. Step by Step Instructions to INSTALL the RM Plow to your ATV. Start with the handle open and the plow/push tube on the kickstand.. Drive your ATV up to the plow assembly.. With the plow assembly inside the mount on the machine, release the handle to extend the pins.. Attach the winch cable to the u-bolt on the position pin assembly.. Use the winch to pull the push tube up into place. This will allow the pins to pop into place on each side of the mount.. Once you verify the pins are securly in place on the bottom mount, you are ready to plow! YOU MUST VERIFY THAT BOTH PINS ARE EXTENDED INTO THE HOLES IN EACH SIDE OF THE BOTTOM MOUNT. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE PLOW, MACHINE, AND THE OPERATOR!! Step by Step Instructions to REMOVE the RM Plow from your ATV. Let out some winch cable before getting off the ATV. Remove the winch cable from the push tube.. Pull the push tube handle up and out to release the pins and extend the kickstand.. Slide the plow assembly clear of the ATV.. Run your winch cable back in. Be careful not to pull the hook into the fairlead.. Drive away. To Attach the Push Tube to the Mount To Remove the Push Tube from the Mount Pins will extend. Ensure they seat into the holes in the mount. Pull straight up, then fold the handle down. Pins will retract. Ensure they release from the mount. Pull in the same direction as the push tube, then pull the handle out. Kickstand will Retract. Kickstand will extend out. Ensure it cams over and locks in place. WARNING! THE MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED PLOWING SPEED IS MPH. INCREASED SPEEDS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR PLOW SYSTEM, MACHINE, AND PERSON. BENT OR DAMAGED PUSH TUBES WILL NOT BE WARRANTIED. TROUBLESHOOTING Below are some tips to help you resolve any problems and keep your RM system in excellent working order. The handle and pins are connected via a cable system that runs inside the tubes. This entails a variety of components including cables, pulleys, hardware, and a spring. If access to these components is required, you will need to drill out the rivets on the cover plates. ONE OR BOTH PINS ON PUSH TUBE EITHER WONT EXTEND OR WONT RETRACT. Could be stuck in place by snow, ice, rust, or other foreign object. Warm up push tube and clean out pin area with WD-0.. Cable either broken or came off of pulley. Remove cover panels to inspect. Fix or replace cable.. Pawls in handle stripped or broken. Remove both side covers to inspect, replace if neccessary.. Internal spring is damaged. Remove upper inspection cover and inspect, replace if neccessary.. Handle either not opened or closed completely.. Eyebolt holding pin in place either bent or broken. Replace eyebolt/cable assembly. HANDLE ON PUSH TUBE WONT OPEN OR CLOSE. Not pulling in the correct direction. See diagrams on previous page. Handle must be pulled in a certain sequence.. Handle bent or broken. Inspect for any damage and replace suspect parts.. Kickstand stuck. Check to make sure it is off the ground and free to move.. Handle and kickstand assembly binding. Check for bent pivot pin or handle bolt. Check for any bent or damaged handle components. Replaced any damaged components.. Could be stuck in place by snow, ice, rust, or other foreign object. Warm up push tube and clean handle area with WD-0.. Pins stuck. See previous section. KICKSTAND WILL NOT EXTEND OR RETRACT.. Check handle operation. Kickstand is directly linked to the handle, inspect for damaged handle components.. Kickstand height not set correctly. Adjust kickstand bolt up or down for your machine until it operates properly.. Kickstand bolt missing. Replace bolt and nut. BLADE WONT SWIVEL. Position pin assembly stuck or broken. Inpect and replace if necessary.. Push tube or swivel bent. Inpect for any bent components and replace if necessary. BLADE TRIPS TOO EASILY. Blade trip springs are set too loose. Tighten the springs by tightening the nuts down farther on the trip spring eyebolts.. Blade angle set back incorrectly. Adjust zinc plated silver blade stops to a different position and try again.. Blade stops not installed. Make sure the zinc plated blade stops are installed.. Adjust skids so the blade is farther off the ground. WINCH CABLE IS BREAKING. Switch to synthetic cable. Synthetic lasts much longer and is more durable for plowing applications.. Purchase the optional pulley kit. This directs the cable through a pulley and back up to a strap on the rack. This kit fixes most angle problems, slows the winch speed, and increases cable life dramatically. Part #0. WARRANTY Your RM plow system is backed by a one year warranty against defects in workmanship. This includes defects such as missing, incomplete, or non-penetrating welds, missing or incorrectly installed factory components, and missing or incomplete powdercoating. What is NOT covered under the warranty are bent or broken components. We have ensured this system is more than capable for plowing under normal conditions at a maximum speed of mph. We are NOT liable for any associated damage to your plow, machine, person, or other object involved in a warranty issue. We will repair or replace the warrantied part(s) at our discretion. ***Operating Instructions*** Read Before Operating CUSTOMER MUST RECEIVE A COPY OF THESE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AT THE TIME OF SALE ***DANGER*** Remove bottom mount before trail riding! There is reduced ground clearance with bottom mount installed. TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH:. Do not exceed a speed of mph ( kph) when the blade is installed.. Use extreme caution when operating the plow on rough terrain, slopes, steep grades or on slippery surfaces.. Stay away from the blade and all moving parts during operation.. When plowing snow or dirt into a pile, slow down before reaching the pile. DO NOT ram the pile with the blade. Start backing up before raising the blade.. Be aware of objects that may be hidden beneath the snow.. ATV braking and stability may be affected by the addition of an accessory or attachment. Be aware of changing conditions on slopes and wet or slippery surfaces. ***WARNING*** Remove bottom mount before trail riding! There is reduced ground clearance with bottom mount installed. TO AVOID PERSONAL OR OTHER INJURY:. Read the Blade Hardware Mounting Instructions, the ATV operator's manual and all safety labels before operating.. Wear safety glasses, protective head gear and shoes as recommended in the ATV operator's manual.. Do not allow riders on the blade or ATV.. Keep bystanders away from the blade and ATV at all times.. Before adjusting the blade angle, stop the ATV engine, set and lock the brakes and raise and lock the blade into the up position. Do not lift the blade by hand. Always use the lift handle or the electric lifting device.. Before adjusting the blade height, lower the blade to the down position.. When the blade is not in use, stop the ATV engine, lock the brakes and lower the blade to the down position. ***OPERATION*** FOR SAFE OPERATION:. The blade and hardware were designed with safety in mind. To protect you and your ATV, certain parts were designed to fail when the equipment is over stressed. For this reason, wire loop pins are not warranted.. To adjust the blade angle, lock the blade in the up position, push (or pull) the blade position pin handle and turn the blade to the desired position. Release the handle and make sure the pin engages a position hole in the swivel.. The blade is raised by pulling back on the lift handle and lowered by letting the lift handle go forward or using the up and down switch for electric lifts or winches. The blade skids are adjustable to allow the blade to be a constant distance off the ground.. The blade is designed to trip when it strikes an object or digs in too deeply. When the pressure is eased, the blade springs back into position. Blade trip tension is adjusted by tightening or loosening the lock nuts on the top of the eyebolts on the back of the blade. The spring tension should be the same for both springs. This can be achieved by measuring the distance from the swivel to the eye bolt. They should be the same.. Do not exceed a speed of mph ( kph) when the blade is installed.. Use extreme caution when operating the blade on rough terrain, slopes, steep grades or on slippery surfaces.. Stay away from the blade and all moving parts during operation.. Be aware of objects that may be hidden beneath the snow..
