Regulations for truck drivers Induction Number: Date: The following Safety Rules, Guidelines and Regulations are for the interest and wellbeing of all persons entering Southern Cotton premises. All truck drivers entering these premises shall read and fully understand the Safety Rules and Guidelines as outlined below. Non-conformance with the following regulations may result in delays/refusals to load, or cancellation of induction card. All site communication is via UHF radio Channel 19 and through the traffic light at the weighbridge. If light is RED call Weighbridge for further directions: DO NOT approach weighbridge. Drivers must queue on the roadway parallel to the main road- NOT directly behind the weighbridge. It is the driver s responsibility to ensure that all trailers and tarpaulins are clean and free from any foreign material that may cause contamination. Module trucks must remove all straps (excluding rear strap) and tarps before entering weighbridge (self-unloading trucks exempt). Once on the weighbridge drivers are to submit any required paperwork and release numbers or mass management codes before they may be loaded/unloaded. Drivers are to announce on Channel 19 their destination, as they leave the bridge. Moonbuggies and gin vehicles have right of way at all times and must be contacted via radio prior to overtaking or being passed by any vehicle. NOTE: It is strictly prohibited for any person to be higher than 1.8m above the ground without restraints or being on purpose built/approved equipment. Therefore, it is not permitted for drivers to climb on top of their loads whatsoever. When loading seed, the seed loader will only scrape off excess load under driver instructions. Therefore, Southern Cotton will not be liable for any damage that may occur. Drivers must wear safety harness at all times whilst on top of load. Load level must be leveled at the platform and must be tarped before receiving paperwork. When unloading cotton modules, drivers must park their rear trailer two rows past the allocated row, or they will not be unloaded. Module truck drivers must remain out of the cab and at the right-hand side, in vision of moonbuggy operator at all times whilst being unloaded.

When loading bales, drivers must wait outside the bale shed, and prepare for loading, until given further instructions by the bale warehouse manager. Drivers are not to enter the bale loading area until they have been instructed to do so. Following completion of loading/unloading drivers will proceed back to the weighbridge to check weights and collect appropriate paper work. However, if load is over legal limit the truck will be sent back to loading area to take any excess bales/seed off. OVERLOADING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. It is the driver s responsibility to ensure trays/loads are cleaned off before leaving Southern Cotton s property. The cleaning area is located by the exit. Drivers must adhere to Southern Cotton traffic plan at all times. Machinery and equipment Truck drivers must not handle or tamper with any equipment owned by Southern Cotton unless required for the completion of their task and authorized by the gin manager. Forklifts are used to load the bale trucks, seed trucks are loaded by a front-end loader and modules trucks are unloaded by a moonbuggy. Restricted entry Restricted areas are clearly marked around the premises. Permission to enter a restricted area must be obtained from the gin manager/supervisor before entry. Where possible, you must be accompanied into these areas by a Southern Cotton employee. Restricted entries include, but are not limited to, the following: bale shed, seed shed, module pad and gin. Speed limits The speed limit of 40 km/hr, and other traffic signs, must be observed at all times. Failure to do so will result in an immediate order to leave the site. Footwear and safety wear High visibility clothing must be worn at all times whilst on site, as well as appropriate safety footwear in good condition. Thongs and sandals MUST NOT be worn under any circumstances. Those entering the seed shed must wear a dusk mask. All drivers must be wearing hi-vis prior to entering weighbridge otherwise you will return to the end of the queue.

Toilets and amenities rooms Toilets/showers and amenities room are available for use. Their location is indicated on the site plan. Please keep them in a clean and tidy state, and place rubbish in the bins provided. Accidents notification All incidents and dangerous occurrences are to be reported to the office or gin manager who is to complete an accident report, which will be investigated by the gin manager. First aid stations are located in the weighbridge and gin. Smoke detection Drivers are requested to immediately report any odours or smoke, particularly coming from cotton bales or modules. Caution must be taken, as cotton is extremely volatile. Smoking Smoking is strictly prohibited at this site. Housekeeping Drivers are responsible for the clean-up of any major spills of oil or any other hazardous materials, which could cause slips, falls or be dangerous in any way. Such events must be notified to the gin manager or office. Operation of mobile plant All mobile plant must be operated with extreme caution. No person, other than the driver, is permitted to ride on them. Dangerous driving behaviour will not be tolerated. Truck drivers must not drive any mobile plant belonging to Southern Cotton without prior permission from the gin manager/supervisor. Permits to operate mobile equipment must be sighted before authorization will be given. Warning and safety signs Warning and safety signs must not be tampered with. They are for the protection of all on site. It is a serious offence to interfere with or disregard warning notices.

Fire protection 1. Fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire cabinets should be accessible at all times. Do not park or place anything to prevent access. 2. Truck drivers are to familiarize themselves with fire equipment locations near to their work using the site plan provided. 3. Fire extinguishers are to be forwarded straight to the office for recharging immediately if used. 4. All fires are to be reported to the gin manager, supervisor or office regardless of perceived significance. Pets and children No pets or children are permitted on gin sites. Passengers Passengers are not permitted past the weighbridge unless authorized by management. All learner drivers must have written authorization from employer that they are a learner and are employed by said company. No letter = no entry past weighbridge Licences / vehicle registration All truck drivers must have appropriate licenses to operate a heavy vehicle. Site personal will check licenses on a random basis. All truck and trailers must be registered and meet RMS regulations. Unsafe conditions If any machinery or electrical equipment needs repair, a danger tag of some sort will be attached to the equipment. Do not use equipment with these tags. Overloading It is Southern Cotton s duty of care not to overload any vehicle leaving this site with our product. Therefore, no vehicle is permitted to leave this site if it is overloaded. Southern Cotton will not take receivership of any load travelling on public roads that does not comply with RMS load restraint/dimension regulations. Noncompliance may result in refusal of entry to Southern Cotton site. Weighbridge hours Gin is open at 7am; with the last incoming truck over the bridge at 6pm. Drivers will be advised of any alterations to this.
