european powder metallurgy association Functional Materials Seminar Functional PM Components in Next Generation Electric Cars 16-17 April 2018 Venue: Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany

Functional PM Components in Next Generation Electric Cars 16 17 April 2018 Jülich, Germany Registration Deadline: 14 March 2018 In the future more and more cars will have an electric drive system. The electrical cars of today are not taking benefit of the variety of functional materials that can be produced within powder metal processing. Potential materials that could be utilized include SMC, magneto caloric materials, thermo electric materials, porous heat pipes, permanent magnets, hydrogen carriers and fuel cell plates among many others. The Functional Materials Seminar will be a workshop with the aim of increasing knowledge in this area to help build up a consortium of companies and universities producing and developing functional materials that can be used in an optimized electrical car. Industry experts will present the potential use of these materials in cars, followed up by a workshop preparing a consortium for a Horizon2020 application under the umbrella of EPMA. The Functional Materials Seminar is organised by the EPMA, with support from the seminar steering committee. For further information, please contact Rhianna Jones, EPMA s Event & Project Co-ordinator: rj@epma.com or Tel: +44 (0)1743 24 88 99 Course Fees & Booking Information EPMA Members (paid up) 600 Academics (Non-Members) 600 Non-Members 900 End Users* 400 * End Users are defined as Original Equipment Makers (OEMs), Tier 1, Tier 2 and System Suppliers. The course fees include one night accommodation at the hotel, coffee breaks, lunch, refreshments and a special dinner in Jülich on the evening of 16 April. 2018 Space will be limited and early booking is highly recommended. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and will only be confirmed when payment is received. Terms and Conditions Cancellations received after 14 March 2018 will not be entitled to a refund. Organised by: European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) EPMA, a non-profit organisation formed in 1989, is the leading trade association for powder metallurgy in Europe. Its key functions are to represent the interest of the European PM community, to promote PM technology and develop the PM process. Further information on the EPMA and its activities can be found online at www.epma.com
