1. Preparing Vehicle a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface. b) Set parking brake. c) If engine has run in the past two hours let it cool down. 2. Removal of Stock System a) Stock intake system. Loosen and remove the bolts and nut on each side of the strut tower bar. Unclip the wire harness from each side. Remove strut tower bar. b) Loosen and remove the mounting bolts and nuts from the engine covers. Remove the engine covers. c) Unplug the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor connector and unclip from the air box. Repeat for the driver side. d) Loosen and remove the air box mounting bolt. Loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body. Disconnect the breather hose. Remove inlet tube and air horn mounted in the radiator support. Instructions 10-677 Page 4 of 9 1/18/2008

e) Loosen and remove the air box mounting bolt. Loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body. Disconnect the breather hose. Remove inlet tube and air horn mounted in the radiator support. f) Loosen and remove the four A/C line bracket mounting bolts and the rubber grommet that is in between the brackets. g) Loosen and remove screw that secures the radiator fan to the radiator. This applies to both the driver and passenger side. Instructions 10-677 Page 5 of 9 1/18/2008

3 Installation of the AEM Short Ram Intake a) When installing the Intake System, DO NOT completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting tab hardware until instructed to do so. b) On the driver side: Insert the heat shield as shown. Secure mounting tab with the factory hardware from the A/C line and radiator support bracket. c) On the Passenger side: Insert the heat shield as shown. Secure with new hardware for the base of the heat shield and the factory radiator support bracket. d) Install the rubber mounts on to the brackets on both pipes. Secure with a 6MM fender washer and M6 nut. e) Uninstall the MAF sensors from the factory inlet tubes. Reinstall into the new inlet pipes. Note the flow direction. Use factory hardware. f) Attach the coupler to both pipes. Place the two size 44 couplers on each coupler. 2 g) Insert the pipe as shown. Align the pipe bracket with the rubber mount. Then align the coupler with the throttle body. 1 h) Push the coupler onto the throttle body. i) Attach the filter and secure with #48 hose clamp. Reconnect the MAF sensor connector. j) Connect the 5/8 hose from the crankcase vents to the intake pipes on both sides (Driver side: 1.75 length, Passenger side: 2 length). Secure with the factory clamp on the plastic nipple and a 1 hose clamp on the pipe side. k) Check for clearance. Secure the rubber mount to the shield with a 6MM fender washer and M6 nut. l) Attach the foam gasket to the top of the shields on both the passenger and driver side. m) Insert the factory MAF wire harness clips into the oval shaped holes on the shields, this applies to both sides. n) Re-install the engine covers and strut bar. Your AEM Short Ram Intake will look like this. Instructions 10-677 Page 8 of 9 1/18/2008

4. Re-assemble Vehicle a) Position the inlet pipes for best fitment. Be sure that the pipes or any other components do not contact any part of the vehicle. Tighten the rubber mounts, all bolts and hose clamps. b) Check for proper hood clearance. Re-adjust pipes if necessary and retighten them. c) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly tight. d) Start engine. Let car idle for 3 minutes. Perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle. 5. Service and Maintenance a) It is recommended that you service your AEM dryflow filter every 20,000 miles for optimum performance. Use AEM dryflow cleaning kit part # 21-110. b) Use aluminum polish to clean your polished AEM Short Ram intake pipe. c) Use window cleaner to clean your powder coated AEM Short Ram intake pipe. (NOTE: DO NOT USE Aluminum polish on a powder coated AEM Short Ram intake pipe) For technical inquiries e-mail us at tech@aempower.com or call us at 310.484.2322 Option #3 12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY AEM warrants that its intake systems will last for the life of your vehicle. AEM will not honor this warranty due to mechanical damage (i.e. improper installation or fitment), damage from misuse, accidents or flying debris. AEM will not warrant its powder coating if the finish has been cleaned with a hydrocarbon-based solvent. The powder coating should only be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution.
