This system allows for fireplace installation in places that a typical direct vent system does not permit. The placement of the fireplace is no longer dependent upon the venting pathway. This system allows increased flexibility for locating the appliance inside the building. The Power Vent System creates a mechanical draw on the exhaust combustion gases making longer vertical and horizontal venting pathways possible and allowing architects, designers and builders to work with ease. Advantages of the ORTAL Power Vent System: Small vent pipe. 5 diameter chimney pipe (35CVS by Duravent). Opportunity for longer vent runs up to 110 depending on the fireplace model. Can be installed with up to six 90 degree elbows in the vent run. Can terminate below the firebox, not to exceed 6 vertical drop from top of the firebox (above) Quiet Operation Inline fan system with 90 degree bend Flexible installation of the Power Vent fan box. Must be installed a minimum of 21 feet (linear vent length) from the firebox connection point and can be installed as much as 45 feet from the box. Electrician not required for installation Integrated Power Vent control. The same device controls both the firebox and power vent.

TECHNOLOGY AND OPTIONAL FEATURES DOUBLE GLASS REFLECTIVE INTERIOR DIRECT VENT ORTAL fireplaces can come specialized with double paned glass, reducing the exterior glass panel temperature. Screen barrier is also available for our models. Both double glass and screen systems meet and exceed the new barrier standard. Patent Pending for screen barrier: USSN 60/040,074 An interior reflective panel can be selected to create a more visually pleasing fire. A VARIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGN MEDIA Fireplaces can be delivered with a choice of media: Log Set, Branch Set or Ceramic Stones in a variety of finishes. Other media approved for use in these appliances can be substituted after market. OPERATION CONTROLS ORTAL fires include a remote control device that operates the pilot ignition, timer, thermostat as well as other optional features. A wall switch can be selected instead of the remote control and can also be integrated into a smart home control system. All ORTAL fireplaces operate with a direct vent, balanced flue venting system. A direct vent gas fire is room-sealed using a glass front. The flue uses natural ventilation to pull in air from and release exhaust gases to the outside. 7
