The Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) charged on new cars is based on their engine's C2 emissions* (expressed in grams per kilometre (g/km)). All C2 emissions figures in g/km are from officially approved tests under the Passenger Car (Fuel Consumption and C2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001 and in accordance with European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. The chart above shows the Bands and the VED which will be levied (for vehicles registered from 1st April 2018 onwards).
