First step is to remove OEM door panels. Underneath door handle, remove plastic cover and bolt. (10mm socket) Note: A small 90 scribe helps to pick plastic covers off. Remove window switch assembly and remove mounting screws. Remove screws at bottom and sides of door panel. (Phillips screwdriver) Remove / unsnap entire door panel from door. Disconnect latch cable from door handle and remove lock pin. Drill out rivets and remove arm rest support bracket. Remove window switch from door panel and reattach it to original plug. Remove Speaker. Neatly wire tie the speaker wire, switch wire with switch inside the speaker cavity so it does not interfere with the window operation. Note: Wrapping switch in a plastic bag will protect against possible exposure to water. Carefully remove the door lock cable from O.E.M. lock assembly and wire tie it out of the way. This photo shows example mounting of lock latch release solenoid for optional Hot-N-Pop # K9-A-201 kit. Run wiring inside door for solenoid and fan as needed. NOTES: It is very important that modifications do not prevent the windows and locks from working. Measure location of speaker opening for future reference if optional Hot-N- Pop gas spring will be installed.
Place door panel onto door. The top will hook onto rubber molding. Drill 5/32 mount holes. Attach panel with #10 x 3/4 Phillips sheet metal screws. NOTE: Double check the lock and window operation several times before installing the new door panel. NOTE: Window guards are shipped flat. On the edge of a work bench, bend a contour in the middle of the guard so it will fit tight against the window frame. Attach window guard hinge to door panel with # 10 x 1/2 Phillips pan head sheet metal screws. With upper mount bracket attached to window guard, mark mounting hole locations in upper door / window frame. Drill 5/32 holes and attach upper bracket to the inside of window frame with #10 x 1/2 Phillips flat head sheet metal screws. Door Panel and Window Guard complete. OEM rear seat to be removed. Release two (2) latches that hold seat pad and remove seat pad. Unbolt lower brackets that hold seat back to floor. Save hardware. Find red straps and pull to release upper seat back pad. (One each side) Rear seat removed
Attach floor brackets to rear seat floor mount location and OEM support brace using OEM hardware. Driver side shown floor bracket shown. Attach crossover support bracket to floor brackets with 1/4"x 3/4 Carriage bolts and nuts. Main floor brackets installed. Note: Run wiring for Dome light, rear fan and other equipment prior to installing floor. Remove two (2) upper seat Bracket s from package tray. Save hardware. Upper seat bracket being removed. Attach K9 Kit rear upper support bracket to package tray with OEM bolts from seat brackets. Loosely attach floor to floor brackets with four (4) 1/4" x 3/4" carriage bolts and serrated flange nuts. Loosely attach rear bulkhead to floor and rear support bracket with 1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. Remove OEM rear grab handles. Save hardware.
Attach upper bulkhead bracket to ceiling with OEM grab handle screw. ( L flange faces forward) (driver side shown) Attach upper bulkhead bracket to ceiling with OEM grab handle screw. ( L flange faces forward) (passenger side shown) Loosely attach front bulkhead to upper brackets and floor with 1/4 x 3/4 carriage bolts and serrated flange nuts. Attach ceiling to front and rear bulkheads with1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. Loosely attach B pillar brackets to front bulkhead to with 1/4 x 3/4 carriage bolts and serrated flange nuts. Bracket goes on inside of bulkhead flange. Remove B pillar trim. Mark bracket hole and drill body flange as shown. (use 7/32 drill bit) Note: Do Not drill forward into pillar. Attach bracket to body flange with #10/32 x 1 Phillips pan head machine screw, 7/16 thick x.625 OD spacer and Nylock nut. Spacer goes between bracket and pillar as shown. Notch the inside clamping flange of the rubber edge molding at spacer location. This will allow edge molding to go back on. Re-attached B pillar trim. Follow same procedure for other side.
Loosely attach lower filler to floor and rear bulkhead with 1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. Loosely attach large upper filler panel to ceiling and rear bulkhead with 1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. Loosely attach both small upper filler panels to large upper filler panel with 1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. At this time, push floor rearward and tighten all mount hardware working from the bottom up. Attach floor filler panel to floor with 1/4 x 3/4 round head Phillips bolts and flat washers. Mount dome light to ceiling with #10 x 1/2 Phillips pan sheet metal screws. (connect wire before installing) Wire dome light to on/off switch. Switch location to be determined by the installer. Neatly silicone / caulk the lower seams to shed water out of vehicle. Note: The floor is designed to minimize the need for sealant. Caulk (sealant) is mostly needed where the floor meets the door sill and lower side filler panels. Install rubber floor mat after silicone is dry. Optional K9-A-102 installed. This fan is for internal air circulation. Optional 10 emergency exhaust fan # K9-A-301 on window guard. Grill provided with fan will need to be cut / modified to fit tighter.
