DESCRIPTION OF CONSTRUCTION AND FUNCTION SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS: Universal use: The slidegate valve can be used for liquids as well as gases. The valve closes depending on the construction and application gas tight. Unit construction system: All construction parts are exchangeable. With simple means only the actuation type can be changed. Repair: In case of wear the recovery of individual parts is ensured with large expenditure. Choice of materials: Depending upon case of application material of housing as well as sliding plate and gaskets can adapted to the operation conditions. CONTROL VALVE TIGHTNESS SYSTEM: The slidegate valve consists of two equal housing parts. Their geometry is selected in a way that a use as intermediate flange or end armature is given. In the patch there is a groove for the admission of the gasket. The gasket keeps the slidegate in the housing gas tight and takes over by the prism geometry the guidance of the sliding plate at the same time. That means: a flutter-free guidance is ensured and blocking is impossible. The prism guidance between plate and seal offers on the one hand an optimum of sealing surface, on the other hand an operation at alternative loading (at positive pressure or vacuum) becomes possible. The geometry of the prescribed seal was selected for easy purchase (a material which can be delivered as meter goods), of most different quality with all nominal sizes and for pressure ranges up to PN 40. The transverse seal, which realizes the tightness of the valve on the place of the slidegate plate, is a double lip seal type. It is inserted under pre-load when the final assembly of the slidegate valve is done. The structure, which carries the actuators, is a simple handle from flat material, which is fixed to the housing by means of screws. Onto this handle the drive is installed. The sliding plate is manufactured in normal cases from stainless steel. It is purify-polished in principle, in order to guarantee a minimum of friction in the soft seal. Materials: Depending upon conditions of service the housing material is selected, standard materials are GG25 and/or S355 (St 52). In special cases can be used also Monel, Hastelloy, titanium or polypropylene etc. The plate material is a stainless high-grade steel of the quality 1.4301 (304 L) or 1.4571 (316 TI). The material for the seals can be different too, so e.g. nitrile rubber, Viton compound, Neoprene, Silikon, Vistalon (APTK), Hypalon (polyethylene), Kalrez, teflon (ptfe 15%-glasfibre reinforced), ceramic(s) fiber etc. Further designs: The slidegate valves can be supplied in two different versions: so-called light (intermediate flange) and heavy (with two flanges on both ends). The size/total length of armature is under normal conditions according to DIN PN 10. The operating pressures are gradated depending upon nominal size. OVERVIEW CONTROL VALVES Adjustable control valve with a wide stable control area, where the ratio flow change is directly proportional to the stroke. If design and sizing is done well, the pressure drop of the control valve will be lowest. All armatures which are installed in the earth shall be coated with a priming Friazink R and a lacquer finish with Intertol Poxitar (black). If a special final colour is necessary, this can be realized by a coating with iron mica color (EEC 1 <grey> and EEC 5 <special RAL colour>).
