BREAK-SAFE LOAD BREAK & PICK-UP TOOL The BREAK-SAFE is a jumper clamp that functions like a portable switch. It is designed to operate on overhead distribution lines from #6-954 ACSR (1.1") in conjunction with a mechanical jumper. The BREAK-SAFE has three operating functions: LOAD BREAK LOAD PICKUP CONTINUOUS CURRENT DUTY 300 AMPS MINIMUM SAFE DISTANCE In order to keep personnel at a safe distance, the BREAK-SAFE is operated with an insulated fiberglass hot stick for load break and load pick-up functions. The Yellow Safety Lock is also operated by a hot stick and helps prevent the tool from an unintended load break or pickup operation. If the tool is not reset the tool will not open. An external, manual locking pin keeps the tool either locked open or closed, until the operator is ready. This tool features durable electrical grade fiberglass housings and a glove friendly design. FEATURES Some of the unique patent pending features include an extra large clamp capable of handling all wire sizes up to nearly 2" diameter. Dual conductor bars allow the use of two mechanical jumper clamps which is needed to go above the typical 300 amp rating of mechanical jumpers. LOAD-RANGER XLT LOAD BREAK TOOL The arm attachment, counter mechanism and other key components are centrally located so the weight of the tool is aligned with the hot stick attachment giving the user maximum control. Has higher metal-to-metal clearance when fully extended, compared to the competition. This can reduce flash-over potential. The aluminum and fiberglass components are machined to very high tolerances and are designed for long life. Designed to be user friendly and simple to operate. The side reset button is easier than a plunger style and allows a lineman to keep their gloves on Low profile head enables our tool to reach switches that have animal guards installed. Our built-in counter is located in the body rather than the head allowing a smaller profile tool Numerous options including a Pad Mount version, hard case, soft case, extended insulated hood and an economical non-counter version.
